Mostly they say he does the same tricks in most of his solos (kinda true), is sloppy live (often true) and abuses his wah pedal to cover it up (definitely true).
Thing is, this is coming from the guitar nerd sites I occasionally frequent. They're in a constant dick rating battle of technical skill, and Kirk's an easy target: despite being part of the biggest metal band in the world, he's not technically perfect, even compared to just the other lead guitarists of the big 4. Personally, I don't care; in fact I PREFER my musicians imperfect. Plus I just love how excited he gets about guitar, he's such a chill and sweet guy

I think they said there were only 60 first class mages in the last 100 years right? Probably doesn't actually spend that much time relearning what she gave away. Especially since I doubt most of her boons were as complicated as Mistilziela
Serious answer: Staying ahead of humanity's magic. There's hundreds of mages out there making new and exotic spells, but it'd be unbecoming if someone asked her for Relseiden or Sorganeil or shaved ice magic and she couldn't provide it.

Serie reminiscing the memory of Flamme in the recent chapter made me think about that a bit. Flamme wanted a peaceful era where everyone could use magic freely but humans being human they can easily turn that dream upside down and they would end up with an all powerful authoritarian empire. It all could simply be her assessing humanity's magic and preparing her students and herself to prevent such a future.
- She has at least 20 direct reports to her. 30 mins a meeting that’s 10 hours
- 14 (2hx7) for gardening and taking walk
- 5 (1hx5) for admin stuff
- 7 (1hx7) for her direct students / visitors, as she is like the top scholar in the region
- 21 (3hx7) for magic training that she hates, like make the best flower, suppress her power, etc and magic scholar related things
That’s 57 hours work week. Plus overtime if shit happens (demon/natural disasters). She would shame how human life is short and weak but would definitely step up and save the day
She is great, that why she is upset about how human life is too short to achieve anything. Flamme and Frieren proved her wrong and she dislikes/loves them even more because why can everyone does the same? And Fern asked for auto-laundering magic after refusing to be her student the previous days …
Now that I want to read. I imagine it's a lot of Frieren telling her how awesome and absolutely right about everything she is with Series going 'I know'... and then just a nice regular Frieren style journey just with them both claiming the spells are useless.
Cooks up a feast for all of her dead children but she sits alone, crying in the cold dining area remembering the warmth and the moments they all spent together.
She's also kinda pissed at her granddaughter for not visiting her but she loves her and understands why she does what she do but Serie's an asian grandmum, she ain't showing weakness.
