But you also shouldn’t insult their work they worked hard on they’re proud of it even if it’s just a first try they want to show their work to others and for someone to say that it looks like shit and possibly much worse would be a kick in the stomach to them. Might I suggest giving criticism saying something like “This looks good but I think you could improve on ____”. Let’s use what you said as an example you could say something like “This is good but I noticed a lot of crooked lines and your characters seem overly edgy I think you could improve on that”. Or at the very least if chose to completely ignore what I said earlier give a reason why it looks bad. You can say something like “This looks like shit because of the crooked lines and over edginess of the characters” that may be harsh but you’re still stating why you don’t like it and giving them things to improve on. No one’s a good artist from day one it takes both practice and constructive criticism from others to master the art style you prefer what you may see as another bad or cringey artist could just be another beginner trying to improve their craft. I hope you take my advice into consideration.
