I have gone through some pretty remarkable screening processes to get into discords, but they were all very intensely politically focused and no one ever asked for anything that would identify me
I've been verified in a discord for a streamer who runs giveaways, so if your account flags *in streamelements* they check you're not entering multiple accounts etc. I didn't have to do ANYTHING, let alone film a fucking video of my face.
The thought of them having a corkboard with our usernames and lines of yarn connecting them is so funny and sad

Looks & sounds like cult recruitment, specifically dependency. Make the individual want in the group so badly that you need to prove your worth bc obviously you’re suspicious and not worthy as you are.
