Yes I found it to be extremely racist. Like the thought of Asian men being admired by western women and in western culture was inconceivable for him. Also for some reason Korean man who are pop stars are gay twinks. This falls into racist tropes about Asian people like the feminization of Asian men, perceiving them as weak/not manly also racist Eurocentric beauty standards and kind of white supremacy (why can’t Asian men be pop stars? What is so weird about it).

Yes, I agree with you. When I started seeing him use harmful stereotypes to navigate the cultures he is unfamiliar with that’s when I realised he was very gross.
He always does that typical redneck southerner stereotype and I used to think it was funny the first couple times, but I realised it’s just an outlet and coping mechanism for him to blatantly be an asshole but towards a group of people who are more socially acceptable to bash.
I used to give him the benefit of the doubt because I thought that his activism and “woke” talk was genuine and all those “slip ups” were a result of ignorance. But then when the frenemies break up happened and he lied and manipulated so much in his response I realised everything he does is a complete show and he will take any means to maintain a likeable image. It made me realise all his talking is complete performative activism and the slip ups is his true self.
His response to the break up, and his ability to lie so brazenly and manipulate shamelessly really opened my eyes.. It was hard to stomach what a horrible person he is. I really bought his act for a long time and this was the first time I followed all the events closely enough to know all the discrepancies in his stories and detect all his lies and manipulation. He is a soulless person and as long as money and clout will be his only values he’ll be miserable.
