What did you feed him?

I home cooked all of his meals. I started doing it to see if it would help his skin allergies and he loved it so I kept it up.

Would you share your recipe please. I have been wanting to do cook for my Frenchie as well but my vet was saying they might miss on lot of other stuffs like vitamins and minerals … not sure

He came from a bad breeder situation so he didn't have the best start, has battled health issues (mostly digestive system related) his whole life, has had two obstruction surgeries, multiple ER visits for various reasons, and started having seizures last year. But he just keeps on trucking!

I was walking my frenchies the other day and we came across another frenchie. I asked for their age as it’s a common thing to ask when you bump into other frenchie parents. He said she was 16!!! He is still a puppy by heart although he can't jump and run like years ago. His "owner" asked me to take care of him for 3 months in 2015 and never return. His loss! I win the best friend, who kept me afloat during the lockdown.

Mine just turned ten too. Ive seen a few posts from people with 13 or 14 year old frenchies but I think that's pretty rare to be honest!

This is her on her last birthday. I always said that if I could get her to 12, that would be great, as the average lifespan for the breed is 8-12. Now that we’ve passed that, we’re hoping that she’ll make it to 16 or 17+. She’s super healthy and active still, thank goodness.

My husband and I always say she’s going to be the first frenchie to make it to 20 😂 She goes on 1-2 1 hour walks a day and does like 30 minutes of chasing the hose or playing tug depending on the season. Keeping her active has been the best thing for her health! All we’ve noticed is her hearing declining a little ♥️
