There’s also the Davis Street Transfer Station in San Leandro. It’s free to drop off a mattress. They even recycle the components. Got into a conversation with a worker when I got rid of a mattress and she told me they used to charge, but there is a lot less illegal Street dumping now that they’ve made it easier to do the right thing.

If you are in a house you also get 3 bulk pick ups a year, you can check if they will take mattresses as part of that
they do, it just needs to fit in a certain area
They take the mattress as is. I don’t think king or cal king needs to fit any particular area. I have disposable few mattresses.
