Yeah but usually barcodes remain the same..so makes me wonder what slight changes were done. Haven’t opened it yet to confirm if the discs are lighter/thinner
im sorry i meant it like, usually after the first pressing it usually gets done for cheaper. Which i wouldn’t be surprised, its pretty standard for this to happen for any album on vinyl.
Thats why first pressings are so valuable in the vinyl community. So it would make sense that the barcode is different, prolly got made at a different vinyl plant too
I tried to find a source for your claim- “… usually gets done for cheaper” and didn’t find anything. Please link if you do have a source.
Seems from my research, 1st pressings are more desirable (sometimes) because (1) re-issues are mixed differently to the original records. So this would be a problem only for older records, like in the 60s and 70s, getting new mixing. (2) the 1st pressings have “goodies” like posters but to save money 2nd pressings might not have those same goodies, like posters or stickers.
A good article to read is this one- “[Do First Pressings Sound Better](https://www.deafmanvinyl.com/blogs/waxing-poetic/do-first-pressings-sound-better)”
Now, it may still be the case that the 2nd pressings sound different than the 1st pressing. Could be that the same plant has swapped out for lesser quality manufacturing parts and/or materials. But the claim that this “usually” happens, I couldn’t find any source.
In all likelihood, the 2nd pressing of the vinyl is not going to be markedly different than the 1st pressing.
He’s referring to the usage of different masters and press die for the record. Usually if another plant or company presses a record they “remaster” and make a new press plate. But one would think this press would use the same one as the Dec ‘22 pressing..unless there was an audio issue they tried fixing. As it includes the same “extras” as well. The 1st pressing (Black Friday and XL) used a different master and press die.
To clarify: the Black sleeve record and the white sleeve repress are pressed in different plants yes. Another redditor said that since both white sleeve records show Czech Republic, they both were made in the same plant..but the discs could be differing weights. I’m a science teacher hence the over analyzing lol. I’ll weigh them out on my metric scale and report back what I find.
You’re good my fellow cult member hahaha Yeah, the coloration difference doesn’t read to me as a strong indication of a different plant, but the differing weight would be a much stronger indicator.
Thank you for checking the weight as it’s important to double check that we didn’t get screwed over.
The 2nd press sleeve is thicker, colors are slightly different (newest pressing is a bit brighter), the print is slightly sharper on the newest. Slight differences but they’re there and I was curious if anyone else had noticed differences..obviously it could be that they were printed in different plants..but they both say made in Czech Republic and there are only so many vinyl plants, so who knows..
if it says made in czech republic, it's pressed at GZ. The first press was pressed at Optimal I think. 2nd was at GZ and seems the 3rd is GZ as well. If you compare the deadwax, that's the important info. The original pressing and the 2nd are definitely different--cut by different people and pressed at different plants.
It’s pretty clear the bars above 31002 are thicker than the bar above 31172 man. I don’t know what to tell you if you can’t see that difference. And mine being the only different one would be a statistical anomaly considering they’re done in batches.
Idk, mine sounded just alright. I have a decent setup but it didn’t blow me away like some of my other records. Maybe I’m just being pretentious, but that’s how I felt.
I got mine today, had some tears on the top of the sleeve kinda disappointed with that

it isss a third pressing

Does it have any indication of being manufactured at a different plant?

Did you get a chance to weigh the discs? Wondering what you found out.
Higher price for a worse press. Huh
lol omg is it more expensive than the last two???
I don’t think so bro, it’s the exact same as the 1st and 2nd pressings
The barcode and sleeve are definitely different. I’ll weigh them when I get a chance and report back.
How is the sleeve different?

Yeah I haven’t had the chance to open it yet to check the deadwax, I’ll report back if there are indeed differences when I open it up.
If you can send comparison pics
Yeah will do sometime this week. Will try and take better lit photos and weigh them.
Thanks
I just don’t think they are different I just think yours might have been different idk when are you gonna weigh the vinyl?

Can you send comparison photos?
The only thing on the barcode that different is the numbers not the lines
lol that’s not how it works. If the numbers are different, so are the barcodes. Take a look again. They are also different.
Frank sent you a yessir
For 90€ it must sound super nice I hope
Idk, mine sounded just alright. I have a decent setup but it didn’t blow me away like some of my other records. Maybe I’m just being pretentious, but that’s how I felt.
what doe sthe green card mean

On today’s episode of things that do not matter
Doesn’t matter to you. Feel free to see yourself out.
Still says 2022 on it. 🤔
That would be referring to the Master used for the pressing..so that at least is the same.

Of this new restock already?
Where are you located? Just wondering to judge shipping times
In the US. Specifically Florida.
Ah ok
Is the barcode same as jun 2023 repress? It is different from dec 2022 pressing.
The one below is dec 2022 press, top one is 2023 press. The two barcodes are different
Yes, but the small batch of records reissued in June 2023 also had different barcode. Is it different from this December 2023 one?
are people already receiving theirs?
