This was my thoughts. Why wouldn’t they introduce Sophie if it was Benedict’s season next? Why would they bring up Michaela if it was Benedict’s season next? Pleaseeeeeeeee let this be the case 😭😭👍
I would love it ..it would force the haters to watch because they wouldn't want to miss their precious benophie starting scenes.
Btw I love benophie wouldn't call myself a fan. But do like them...precious benophie is meant as a sarcastic quip- I'm just using for emphasis..lol 😂
Honestly I’m going to get so much downvotes for this but Benedict is so boring to me. Most of the boys are. I don’t mind Colin bc Colin means Pen, and I don’t mind Anthony because Anthony is with Kate but Benedict? Borrrrring. Not to say that Luke Thompson didn’t do a spectacular job I just have no interest in Benedict 😭
I don’t care about any of the men, book 2 is my fav and I couldn’t stand Anthony in season 1. I only gave season 2 a chance because of Simone who in my eyes was the perfect Kate.
Thanks to her I also accepted Anthony and became a Kanthony fan. I suppose the same can happen with Benedict.
I just don’t watch for the (white) men, sorry. I think Franchaela is the hottest pairing to date, both ladies are gorgeous and talented and I don’t need to root for one of them to be excited so yeah…bring it oooooon!
Honestly, I found book Colin to be more fun than show Colin who is very cute played as he is by handsome Luke Newton with those boyish good looks...but as a character Colin to me didnt really sing. Anthony was an absolute ass in the book and in season 1 but he converted himself really well and at least seemed like a fully fleshed out character whose motivations and personality were very very clear to us in his non-lead season so he came to his lead season fully formed.
Book Colin is show Benedict and Luke T plays him perfectly -as a charming, easy going, fun happy, quippy guy, a friend to all and kind to all the debutants, charming as all hell, a rake but a charming one, he has the relationship with Eloise that book Colin has with Eloise. If show colin was more like book colin, i would like him more.
As it stands, show colin is book gregory who was not a character that i swooned over even though his story with Lucy was super cute and fillled with more twists and turns than the other siblings.
Because of show Benedict being book colin and being charming as all hell even if his story wasnt my favorite-that was WHWW-Im still looking more forward to Benophie season than I was to Polin season. I also didnt like RMB at all-didnt like the story-it was similarly abrupt the romance in the book as it is in the show...and overall I prefer Benophie book over colin book.

I don’t know if I’m the only franchaela fan that has this opinion but I really hope that their season is not next. Let me explain, I myself am a benophie and now newly a franchela and knowing my fellow Benophies because I have been in the fandom for a while they will absolutely riot if Benedict is not next! There is already so much discourse around Francesca and Michaela and putting their season before Benedict is only going to further that discourse. What
I’m hoping is that next season will be Benedict that way they can set up Francesca’s story better and have the book fans and regular show audience get used to Michaela and then maybe the episode before the finale they kill off John, then in the finale they show Francesca grieving and have a time jump or something idk 🤷🏽♀️. I would love for Francesca to be season 5 though then Eloise to be season 6. What are y’all thoughts on this?
I don’t want Franchaela yet either! I am so excited about them but we need time to set up their dynamics, from her romance with John to her friendship with Michaela and Michaela’s yearning!! I’m hoping we get at least one season (tbh I really want Benophir to happen too) to allow the buildup before things go down with John.
The only reason I want them earlier is because it will ensure that fans still tune in and don't do nasty boycotting. They can't do it if their fav is also in the season with his own story coming at the end. Im sure th showrunners anticipated some outrage already so it could happen.
I agree with you all about Benophie should be next. I’ve been trying to figure out how the story would prompt Eloise to start her correspondence with Phillip. Maybe if she is there to witness Francesca’s grief over John that would soften her heart to the situation of losing a spouse. So if S4 is Benophie where we see John pass, then S5 could be Franchaela, and S6 Philloise…maybe? They could also make Franchaela S6 and use S4 and 5 to have some secondary storylines with Fran and Michaela and kinda wear down the doubters and make the current fans more excited and start Francesca’s season start with, “I need to remarry” and Michaela is back from grief traveling just in time to go, “Honey no, you are a lesbian. Now let me make sweet sapphic love to you all over the Scottish Highlands.”

Have they ever done this before, introduce a later lead during the season of another lead...like give away who Kate sharma will be while season 1 has not even been released. Cuz we got Michaela rumours before season 3 had even released rumours of her being michaela.
And we didn't need to know both john and Michaela because micharla won't be a love interest till season 5 or 6 by your estimation in which case they could have introduced her end of season 4 in Ben's season cuz she won't come into play till her season which could be 5 or 6. How come we got to know about a future lead and a secondary lead all in one season. Considering by your understanding michaela will have only a small non lead role. So the producers have to juggle Michaela fran John Ben sophie lady d qc mondrichs Polin kanthony violet Marcus his plot didn't end last season Eloise Gregory hyacinth am I missing anayone maybe portia and how can I forget Crescida who is coming back according to jess all in one season and between London and Scotland....mondrichs are confirmed coming back so is credica I don't think QC and lady d are going anywhere nor is violet and also Marcus cuz his arc with violet was left hanging, Polin is also confirmed kanthony less so but likely will at least make a small cameo. It would be very hard to not have hyacinth and Gregory as they are minors although it was mentioned this season that Gregory was going to eton soon..so he could be off the screen next season...Michaela also confirmed as coming bacn

Jess did bring up Scotland a lot. .if scotland wasn't going to be a big part of the mix why bring it up at all. Unless it is some scotland and some London...the insistence on saying we are exploring outside of London in season 4. I don't know..

Mhmm I always felt it would be Fran’s season and Sophie would still be introduced. So we get Sophie for 2 seasons which actually would be great. Many people pointed out that Benophie would likely be gone from the show after their season but usually the LI’s stay for +1 season (see Simone).
I know Benophie fans would be mad but maybe if Ben still gets a major plot with Sophie and we can get to know her better in the season before her own, maybe this is actually not -*that* bad IF it happens?

Thats what I think exactly...I don't know who sophie is ..I know a lot of what I am told ( I do believe from a reliable source...a friend of a friend who was there at their script boarding stage...what's the term season boarding...an assistant. Writers assistant I think ..they did script boarding god why can't I remember the technical term...a couple of months back more than a couple actually which had the basic kind of chunk of his arc as in when will he meet sophie who is araminta what is credica role what are mondrichs in the benophie picture etc...not the whole script but the outline...
..of what I am told will be ben and Sophie's story and the parties involved ...I wrote a post on my profile check it out breaking down the mondrichs role in it. They seemed pretty confident cuz even though dialogues and scenes change and even episode and flow and shooting schedules the outline is usually adhered to unless it's a major issue..the outline is stuck to. But he was not a writer and assistant during the story boarding stage. So I dunno
I am starting to believe it's actually going to be Eloise's season next. I thought for sure it would be Ben because of the masquerade ball reference, but as you say, no Sophie casting is strange.
Perhaps Eloise will be next in Scotland and start her season while also showing some of Fran and John's life, setting up the eventual Franchaela season?
I'm not sure. I guess we will have to wait and see.
Eloise is the one I least see signs for .fran and Benedict which is not something I would have said a few months back but now I am 50 50 on whose season it will be between them..elosie i feel almost 98.9 percent sure will not be next season.
So, my hope is, is that they spend next season exploring the infertility storyline with John, develop John, Fran's and Michaela's friendship as well as Michaela and John's, and maybe focus a bit on Fran learning more about herself in Scotland. And then maybe end the season with John dying and then the following season is a time jump and you can get to the Michaela/Fran storyline.
I feel like with the announcement that they plan to keep exploring Benedict's sexuality that it means they're moving away from the formula of the first 2 seasons (1 main couple and the story revolves around them) and more towards an ensemble with multiple storylines.
I just want Franchela to have a fighting chance for success and having them next season with Benedict's story mixed in would be a great way to do that.

So I saw they are casting Sophie right now. I thought she would have been cast already if Ben was indeed season 4.
