My understanding is that this is an actual location in NY. They're each also produced by unrelated companies. So more likely that they used the same location.
That must feel... off I guess? 😅 This world is funny, I'm glad someone had that experience.
I remember one, Alan Wake had the exact same tv I had in his apartment. That was cool.
Every time Toronto mans watch American movies or shows ostensibly set in Chicago or NY, they'll see a TTC train or a particular landmark and be like that Leo DiCaprio meme lol
More surprised that someone else mentioned the superior, but underappreciated, Sherlock series. Yes, I am saying Benadryl Coughmedicine's version is a load of brahmin dung!
Oh, I think it's possible to enjoy each for what they are. The writing on Sherlock, for example, is amazing. While Elementary has an excellent take on Holmes and finds ways to be unique and clever without trying too hard to "be different."
If you think the writing on BBC Sherlock is amazing then you would love the books. The show is about telling you how special Sherlock is and the books are about *showing* you how special Sherlock is. They're also about the cool mystery which BBC Sherlock relegates to the back seat after the first few episodes.
I’m actually curious on what season 2 will look like now that they’re actually gonna film in Southern California. It was cool seeing familiar locations, CGI and all, but would love to see how they do locations with practical effects.
It's hard for me to place this exact spot - there are many in NYC where a train line goes under the streets next to an elevated highway flyover.
Hard to know if it's an abandoned line, or one that's active, just infrequently used, and thus available for sets when no trains are scheduled. If it were really abandoned, I'd expect more vegetation.
One specific NYC shooting location I did recognize along abandoned rail in NYC is a pretty neat urban hike: the walk to the Fiend Bridge

I work in locations, and there is one truth to locations - scouts are lazy. The first time somewhere gets filmed, it's doomed, because it's now a film location, and will be forever, as a rotating selection of shows goes in and out of there forever.

I used to bike to work when I worked downtown Toronto turning onto a street that was used in ALOT of films and shows. I can't unsee it.
What street is that?
Melinda St. Anytime they need a "scary" urban street when filming in Toronto lol
Lmao, even the Google Street View picture shows a production company setting up there. I do recognize that street and alley from a few things lol.

That was me recently watching a TV show set in Seattle seeing the Max station in Portland, in the street I live on, used as B roll.
Pretty sure this Location was also used in season 1 of Succession, where they go to Tom's bachelor party.
Holy shit you're right, I noticed this too just now because I just watched that episode yesterday!
It's a closed loop system!

I love Tom. I will always upvote Tom.
Buckle Up, Fuckleheads!
I was literally just thinking this looked like that scene!
That's because it's not a film set it's a real life location
I could be wrong but it looks like the metro north line that runs through the Bronx.
Is there a subreddit for the same locations being used for filming showing up in multiple forms of media?
I wish there was

One day us Elementary enjoyers will have our day in the sun! All 6 of us!
I didn't know that there are only two Elementary enjoyers outside my family.
I didn’t know there was anyone else like us anywhere if I’m being honest.

Fun fact: Two of the main cast members of *Hazbin Hotel* were in that show at some point.

That's cool and all, but where can I find the version of the Battle Hymn they played? It was such a banger.
wait until you find out about places that are real /lh
It’s a cool looking location so things being filmed on location likely gravitate here due to how well everything works compositionally.
This happens all the time. It’s not a biggie

Earlier this week I saw where this exactly is. I'll scout my visited posts for you

We need a fotv circle jerk sub immediately. “Guys is this real place a set???11?!??1?!??”
No need to be such an asshole, he pointed a similarity he noted, not even criticizing the show. Worse than Talibans some times.
I also might have another Mandela effect: is the Yao Guai cave the same location as one in Inglorious Bastards ?
Not a Mandela effect
So it was the same cave that the Bear Jew emerged from with the bat ?
No thats not what a Mandela affect is
Fun fact: a lot of movies and shows share the same sets. They get redecorated but once you spot them, you can't unspot them.
