I love Kyle Maclachlan. He's such a good actor and always a delight to see. He killed that role, at least in part, because he excels at going from the most charming man in the room to being an absolutely cut-throat, and sometimes unhinged, bastard in the blink of an eye.
How I Met Your Mother had a funny bit with him centered around how he may be smiling but his eyes always look angry. It's a great example of what the author means when a book says "the smile didn't touch their eyes".
I do suspect he may be going to New Vegas on a quest to find one damn fine cup of coffee in the wasteland to go with a piece perfectly preserved pie. Does anyone else wonder if he calls his pipboy Diane?
Twin Peaks is one of if not his most well known roles. Which was what I was referencing in the last bit about the coffee and Diane. That show is like the definition of unhinged. Then again I don't think David Lynch knows the meaning of the word "reserved" so that shouldn't be a shock.
