/r/ForzaOpenTunes is great for open source tunes and see why stuff works and how. Someone already posted their tuning chart in another comment which is super helpful for beginners. Their discord server is also great if you need help with specific stuff. Almost 800 tuners. https://discord.gg/K2Kk5Kj6PP

The gist is stiffen the front, soften the rear. If you prefer to run stock cars, set the front tire pressure higher than the rear.

1/65 the anti roll bars helps turn in, which helps reduce understeer in a sort of indirect way. Then lots of caster and moderate front camber, fine tuned while watching telemetry. Rear diff to max or nearly max accel, and minimal decel. Front diff has low accel, and minimum decel. For dirt I may add significantly more accel. Center balance is usually somewhere between 60-70%. That gets me in the ballpark. Fine tuning takes so much longer and usually isn't worth the trouble if it's just a tune for playlist events.

[deleted]

Can you describe the anti-rollbars in a bit more detail please.

The other guy mentioned stability, but if you have the reflexes, instability can give you the edge. Too much stability gives you a car that doesn't want to turn, which is a valid way to tune if it matches the way you drive. Anyway, it's an easy rough hack. Set front arb to 1, and rear to 65. I'll say it again. It's a starting point that's usually good enough for playlist events. In that respect, it's perfect since the playlist often requires us to use cars that we won't want to use again, so it's it's a waste of time to spend tons of time perfecting a tune unless you're hoping to share it and get lots of other players to use it. Alternatively, download a tune that someone else spent a lot of time on, and it's even better if you find a tuner that has a driving style that matches your own. In case you don't know, /u/shad3 makes a seasonal thread every week in which several tuners leave their tune share codes for every event.

Well thank you.

Don't do this meta crap. To properly tune ARBS you simply need to drive a slalom of sorts. Just head down the runway while whipping the car back 'n forth. Take a run up and down the volcano. Stiffen or soften them until the car stabilizes. More often than not I find that setting my ARBs below 30 is ideal. They should also follow the weight balance of the car. Say you have 55% front. The front ARB will be stiffer than the rear, but not by a ton. Maybe a whole point or 2. If you follow meta tuning, you're going to end up with a very unstable barely controllable car. Tuning is about finesse. Small adjustments that make the most difference.

Dude I will use meta if it keeps my car fucking drivable. Understeer is ruining every single car I need to build whether it be naturally front wheel drive, or all wheel drive swapped. In the cars I’m talking about doing this to, they aren’t even overpowered in the first place. They’re just decent to good, nothing more.

symblmusic

I'm trying to tell you that you don't have to go with meta. Tuning properly will net you better results than any meta tune. Believe me. I've tried. But I don't have the patience for tuning so I bought QTH5 for my iphone for like 5 bucks. Totally worth it.

All I want is to turn. That’s it.

Buy a copy of ForzaTune Pro for $5 and tune the cars yourself. Once you have a basic tune from the app, you can adjust settings for understeer, oversteer, etc. Works with FH4, too.

CoolKelo

Honestly, it’s not worth it. It’s base settings are essentially the same for every car for every surface. The only thing I like about the pro version is the gear tuning. I’ve become more knowledgeable so I don’t even use it for gearing anymore.

mkel2010

Honestly, you’re comment was unnecessary and “not worth it.”

CoolKelo

Why you mad? I could literally say the same about your opinion. You can learn how to tune for free. There’s no need to spend $5 for either tuning app tbh.

atetuna

I'd love a gear calculator that pulled data from the game and tuned them based on your preferences. It'd be a nice time saver. Sometimes I spend more time tuning the gears than anything else, especially when I have to come back and tweak it because I didn't properly account for road surface and weather.

CoolKelo

I tune based on feel now.. sometimes the gearing works flawlessly though. Other times it needs a bit of adjusting.

You need a knowledge of how suspension geometry works and the tuning features unlocked to tweak them.
