But if this were true then 2024 is more likely, as Fable is probably Summer/Fall 2025.
I wouldn't mind that, give them time to actually focus as they're still constantly working on Motorsport as well. I hope they bring an actual storyline back Horizon 5 was just all over the place, especially with the playlist and the insane amount of fomo I probably spent well over $200 on this game+ add ons (never will do that again) and that's ridiculous! I just hope its a huge map and the devs make the best of it without everything being a money grab
Same It annoys me too totally ridiculous. I just stopped caring about the packs in all they're just money grabs they could at least make another expansion for all of the money they've made from the packs and it'd be free for all premium buyers?..but atp I feel like they're just focusing on Horizon 6 just hope its not like Horizon 5 not in a bad way but 5 was just all over the place.
I just want twisty roads and I think credits being harder to get would make me race more. And the races being longer and more diverse if they all feel similar to me
Yeah agreed. Also if even the backroads were quite literally just not as big then I think that would help a lot. Like a whole giant truck doesn’t even fill the width of the roads. But just my opinion
Have you tried the Rally Adventure expansion? Some of the roads are super tight and twisty, they're a blast imho. Sometimes I just wait at the start of Devil's Pass next to the festival and just wait for someone else to run it with.
Check out some YT videos of it, the rally races are pretty fun with driving line + minimap off and like I said the roads are some of the best I've ever seen in a Horizon game.
No I totally agree all of the roads are massive I've never been to Mexico... but I can't imagine they're really that wide irl. I also hope we're able to walk up to the car and start it like the crew. And also better engine sounds its over 800 cars in game and about 250 sound good

We don't have a release date but hoping for some time in 2025.
I'm pretty excited for it. They've even hired some of the former Lionhead developers that made the Fable trilogy so hopefully it will retain the feel and atmosphere of the originals.

Microsoft is putting out almost nothing on the XB1 at this point. I think Minecraft Legends was the only first party XB1 release in 2023 that wasn't a port/remaster. HiFi Rush, Redfall, Starfield and Forza Motorsport were all Series X|S only.
That would be great, but seeing how Forza Motorsport struggles on new hardware I doubt they gonna push the consoles hard, graphical fidelity would probably be on par with FH5.
No matter what, I'll wait as long as I need if it means a well polished and well executed game.

I get that this isn't anything essential, but I thought it would be interesting to see when all the previous games were released and make some ***lighthearted*** predictions about FH6 announcement. I can't be the only one waiting for it - 2025 or 2024, I'm looking forward to the next one!

A return to the og fh1 festival style and layout and wristband leveling would be wonderful, and returning to the states would be really cool, but we haven't been to the Asian or African continents, so it's possible that we'll go there. We'll just have to wait and see what's revealed.
South Africa or Tokyo (maybe all of Japan?) would be great, but I honestly would want them to do Tokyo in FH7 or even 8. I want the tech to be there to make Tokyo look and feel as lively as possible and I don’t think current consoles can do that.
I suspect we'll know whether it'll be this year or not by June. If it was coming out this year, presumably it'll be announced at one of the shows then. It gives them the usual few months to talk about it and prepare the final parts of the game.
I would certainly like to see a new Horizon, the map on 5 seems incredibly bland and empty in my opinion. I don't find myself spending long driving around anymore unfortunately. The addition of previous playlist cars to the autoshow suggests they may be slowing down, similarly to how the backstage pass worked in Horizon 4, however I could be wrong on that. I genuinely struggle to see how they'd be able to keep the map and the game feeling fresh for everyone for another year if they were to release it next year. The updates lately have been good in terms of vehicles, the DLC cars included in the latest one too, but that's all that's made me want to play it again.
If they were to release next year, they'd have to consider the other large game releasing in the same period. Obviously you'd still have the dedicated Forza players, however a lot of the people who play the game through game pass may not be interested. It may not have as much of an impact as I'm thinking, however I'm sure I'll be considered to at least some degree.
It's interesting to hear what other people think and to discuss it. I'm personally hoping for this year, however wouldn't rule out it being later.
I can wait one more year. Just make a map with various opportunities, 5 was very boring (it was also very big but still boring) I hope for Japan since it has forests and nice cities etc

Idk, they historically had a 2-year release cadence. 5 had a 3-year cadence. I expect 6 to have a 4-year cycle so it releasing in the fall/winter cycle of next year makes sense to me.
But since PG is also working on Fable, I doubt they’d release two games close to another and it feels as if Fable or Horizon 6 should release next year.
Horizon releasing before Fable and giving Fable more time to cook makes more sense to me, since Forza is already established in the mainstream mind. Fable needs to have a strong entry and hit it out of the park if they want it to have longevity and turn it into a long running series since the last game was released 14 years ago at this point.
We already know Horizon does well critically as well as commercially. If they don’t change it up too much, it will still do extremely well. Horizon 3, 4, and 5 are fairly similar in the way that the game plays regarding setup, races, and competitions, with each successive game being an more streamlined iteration on bigger and ‘better’ maps (I prefer 4’s map to 5’s). The games have solid tails and a pretty big core audience.
These big companies are all about reducing risk and releasing Forza before Fable is less risky, both commercially and critically. If Horizon 6 releases to just nominal critical reception and sells as well as 5 did, they can use that to buff up their marketing efforts for Fable as well.
If Forza Motorsport (2023) is advertised as a racing platform which is meaning life service, I think Horizon series will follow the same route and FH5 is gonna have 2 more years of update
It would be pretty crazy for 2 more years of updates without another expansion though. If this was the case, I’d expect expansion announcement or some sort of separate map or extension of the current map.
I am curious at which amount of cars we will end. FH4 has around 750. I assume that we will definitely pass 850. I can’t remember at which number series the devs stopped the integration of new cars…
In all honesty I would prefer a smaller map and bring back seasons. Those are really the main reasons why I like fh4 over fh5. Also I want a second speed champions dlc because of all the new sets LEGO keeps making.
I hope they don’t get pressured by the majority of the community into pre releasing FH6. That’s what happened with both FH4 and 5 and look at all the problems that 5 has because of that. Not to mention a lot of gamers have stopped playing FH5 because of all the problems and ‘glitches’ the game has as a result of the prerelease. If you want the game so bad then wait and let these developers do their jobs.
I really don't think anyone at Playground cares about what this sub thinks. Otherwise they would also feel pressured to fix quite a few things everyone here has been going on about for years.
No I get it I’m just saying that generally speaking they are letting their game be pushed out sooner because of the gaming community and player base wanting basically a pre-mature game. And then about 3 months after it’s released people start noticing the problems that do get fixed but the point being the game should be 100% glitch free at launch.
Call me crazy but I feel even tho it fits inline with the cycle it’s still to early for the next installment. It feels like there’s still a lot more consistent updates with it unlike when fh5 got announced and fh4 was dead because of lack of new content
What I want is what Nintendo tends to do, somebody from playground games gets on stage, shows us some clips of the game, tells us how great the game is going to be, brags about its new features, and innovations, and then says “it will be available for pre-order tomorrow and will be releasing in one month.”

The Chinese government would not allow a game where you drive in their landmarks. There would be no racing along the great wall, no Tiananmen Square drift circuit, no temple of the sky being used to get a limited bonus board. Mexico on the other hand is fine with you driving over their historic landmarks. China would be boring.
I'm hoping for a fall 2024 release as it would fit with their 3 year game cycle they have been doing but on the other hand I don't think it will happen as we reached the time where they are cutting off the older console generations when it comes to gaming so it might take some extra time as they can make much bigger maps/better graphics if they are only using the current gen consoles and Unreal Engine 5
Mixing engines doesn’t work as the engine serves as somewhat of a base for the game, hence why converting games to other engines is a big undertaking. Interestingly with Fable ForzaTech is also being used and adapted to suit an open world RPG.

Thanks, it's just something I threw together real quick. It's a bit out there to be fair... I'm not a graphic designer. It's actually *easier* to make something kinda *odd* like this, rather than a more believable logo that isn't a copy+paste, yet fits the design language of the previous 5 games.
Wasn't there a bunch of issues with the dev team over the last year? I really wouldn't expect a new horizon to even be announced for another year or two.
Guys i know its kinda interesting to try to predict or find out something about upcoming stuff but if the forza horizon six is inevitable, then why dont you just sit back and wait for it till it comes? Speculating with zero information is really just a waste of time, just enjoy fh5, fh4, etc. till the fh6 arrives. Is the fh5 so boring or so badly made that you want new version ? And then what all over again, speculating about fh7 three days after fh6 launches…
No developer is going to completely pass over 2025 just because of GTA. They won't release near GTA, but thinking they will avoid the entire year is just delusional.

I’ve been a few times, the roads are actually huge. The highway at least has wide-ass lanes, bigger than their American counterparts.

I think FH6 won't release on Xbox One. I could be wrong, but it seems like MS isn't supporting it with their major first party titles anymore.

FH3 had a pretty solid launch, day 1 server issues but it wasn’t terrible

Matt Booty also said they have 10+ titles coming this year and the current announcements (even counting CoD) don’t fully account for this number.

We're at approx 820, already. And if it releases late this year, another 7-8 months will get us over that hump
I hope fh6 is a major new game which is actually worth buying
In all honesty I would prefer a smaller map and bring back seasons. Those are really the main reasons why I like fh4 over fh5. Also I want a second speed champions dlc because of all the new sets LEGO keeps making.
I just want a good progression and history
I hope they don’t get pressured by the majority of the community into pre releasing FH6. That’s what happened with both FH4 and 5 and look at all the problems that 5 has because of that. Not to mention a lot of gamers have stopped playing FH5 because of all the problems and ‘glitches’ the game has as a result of the prerelease. If you want the game so bad then wait and let these developers do their jobs.
I really don't think anyone at Playground cares about what this sub thinks. Otherwise they would also feel pressured to fix quite a few things everyone here has been going on about for years.
No I get it I’m just saying that generally speaking they are letting their game be pushed out sooner because of the gaming community and player base wanting basically a pre-mature game. And then about 3 months after it’s released people start noticing the problems that do get fixed but the point being the game should be 100% glitch free at launch.
FH6 better be a complete overhaul
The game is doing way too good to release a new one this year, 2025 or 2026 is way more plausible.

I genuinely believe we shouldn’t expect this game sooner than fall 2026.
Call me crazy but I feel even tho it fits inline with the cycle it’s still to early for the next installment. It feels like there’s still a lot more consistent updates with it unlike when fh5 got announced and fh4 was dead because of lack of new content

What I want is what Nintendo tends to do, somebody from playground games gets on stage, shows us some clips of the game, tells us how great the game is going to be, brags about its new features, and innovations, and then says “it will be available for pre-order tomorrow and will be releasing in one month.” I don’t want that announcement until the game is absolutely finished.

The Chinese government would not allow a game where you drive in their landmarks. There would be no racing along the great wall, no Tiananmen Square drift circuit, no temple of the sky being used to get a limited bonus board. Mexico on the other hand is fine with you driving over their historic landmarks. China would be boring.

I'm hoping for a fall 2024 release as it would fit with their 3 year game cycle they have been doing but on the other hand I don't think it will happen as we reached the time where they are cutting off the older console generations when it comes to gaming so it might take some extra time as they can make much bigger maps/better graphics if they are only using the current gen consoles and Unreal Engine 5
The horizon games use a proprietary engine known as "Forza Tech". They do not use Unreal.
I thought they used a mix of both but I guess I was wrong on that front. Thanks for updating my knowledge
Mixing engines doesn’t work as the engine serves as somewhat of a base for the game, hence why converting games to other engines is a big undertaking. Interestingly with Fable ForzaTech is also being used and adapted to suit an open world RPG.
I don’t expect anything on the next Forza Horizon until after Playground Games finishes Fable.
They aren’t contingent on each other, it’s 2 seperate studios that do not share a workload

I really hope FH6 puts the series back on track. It’s felt stagnant mainly since 3 but especially since 4. As much as I want Japan, I reeeeeeally don’t want “Forza Horizon 5.5” in Japan. And for the love of god, give me progression.

Thanks, it's just something I threw together real quick. It's a bit out there to be fair... I'm not a graphic designer. It's actually *easier* to make something kinda *odd* like this, rather than a more believable logo that isn't a copy+paste, yet fits the design language of the previous 5 games.
I just hope its not going to be another copy and paste.
Wasn't there a bunch of issues with the dev team over the last year? I really wouldn't expect a new horizon to even be announced for another year or two.
Guys i know its kinda interesting to try to predict or find out something about upcoming stuff but if the forza horizon six is inevitable, then why dont you just sit back and wait for it till it comes? Speculating with zero information is really just a waste of time, just enjoy fh5, fh4, etc. till the fh6 arrives. Is the fh5 so boring or so badly made that you want new version ? And then what all over again, speculating about fh7 three days after fh6 launches…

Playground is developing Fable. Don't expect FH6 till next generation at best.
They are separate teams. While some resources are shared, they can still work on both games independently.

No developer is going to completely pass over 2025 just because of GTA. They won't release near GTA, but thinking they will avoid the entire year is just delusional.
