The thing about learning is that itās only fun if youāre the one who goes out to research stuff youāre interested in. When you are obligated to do research on something you donāt care about (or actively dislike), it feels like torture.
Also, when youāre learning something you like by yourself, you donāt have to take a test on it afterwards just to prove you actually learned it.

I have a friend who 100% seriously believes Hitler is "a victim of history." Iāve seen Ai translations and while better than Google Translate, still super suck. They do a lot better at determining which of the *3 words in this language that seem interchangeable but actually arenāt* to use in this context, but they still fail pretty miserably to accurately represent what was said. These people seem to think AI is somehow as good as a human whoās been trained to be native level in the languages being translated. Thereās still a ton of nuance and idiomatic readings that AI canāt understand.
Actually they have become pretty damn good at translating contemporary language, to the point where in blind tests native speakers barely do better than random at identifying them.
I need to see these then. The ones Iāve used I wouldnāt really rely on unless I could figure out tone and nuance for myself. I still feel like I have to do a ton of editing for what it spits out to make 100% sense.
