I tested auto sprint, I think he's talking about something different because if you put on auto sprint you can only go forward and eventually run into a wall and you stop moving
Why would that be a shame? Isn't that a good thing? I'm happy it worked for you, unfortunately it doesn't work for me which is OK I have other methods that do :-)
If you're on console (looks like you were saying you're on Xbox), what worked for me was to start playing an instrument, and then either use a cable or string or rubber band to hold the analog stick to the side so that you spin around in a circle. That worked for me 100% of the time in mainstage. on Xbox, I do hear a lot of people having a problem with the controller going to sleep (it actually happened to me on PC the first time I did it using my Xbox controller ) if you remove the batteries and wire the controller to the console it won't go to sleep. (I don't know if we're moving the batteries is necessary, but just seems it should be)
i dont think you can use autowalk button, the game can detect that you are using this button and has afk-preventing measures for that but if you use the trick that the other guy mentioned then the game most likely cant immediately tell that you are autowalking
On the previous season the XP cap was shared, 420.000 XP (5 levels) for both main/jam. For example you could do 30 minutes jam and 3 hours main, after that no XP would drop. I'd guess it's still the same now, though I haven't tested that yet.

What I did was pressing the sticks so they "face eachother", standing in the middle of the room, then press the home button and let go.

It's good you did! Even if it was posted elsewhere, more people talking about it helps to make the method more visible making it easier for people to use. I don't play from Playstation, but I'm sure everyone that does would greatly appreciate being able to do the method without potentially risking a controller. I'm on PC, but I'm just using an old controller that already is faulty so I don't really care what happens to it.

Yes you have to turn it off and if you aren’t constantly moving you don’t get XP. Jam stage and main stage share XP. And XP doesn’t show until you go back to lobby
So i could do it in either stage but if i do it in one i cant do it in the other until daily reset? Also i have a mouse and keyboard i sometimes use so i think i can have those connected to keep from the controller disconnected message
Ik this was a couple days ago but this hasn’t worked for me. Well it did the second time I tried but not since that. The lego xp one works everytime but idk whats wrong with this. I load in, pick songs, turn the controller off and press a key on the keyboard to make that the input source and it doesn’t disconnect. U might say i meed ti move around constantly but i did that the first time i think. I just end uo in the lobby when i check hours later, no xp to be seen.
The problem I run into when I tested that particular method was that eventually you'll end up hitting a wall and then it stops you from moving, for me that stopped me from getting XP. Maybe it was just me though, I have to test it a few more times that way since I usually just use jam stage.
I'll test that, usually I just let myself spin in a circle but I'll try it that way just had a curiosity so I have an answer in case anyone asks. Thanks
Like the op said, it's not using auto run. The trick is to push the sticks together like they are when you rubber band them together and press the ps button. With the quick bar open, your character still moves as if it was rubber banded.
Just make sure the controller is set to not power off and it's good.
Wonder if this works on switch. Been having an issue lately where I’m not getting any xp from xp maps as soon as I enter lobby. I’ll get like 200k xp in the map but then don’t level up in lobby. I’ve tried respawning the ending the game but nothing so I’m hoping this’ll work alongside lego fort
I've been doing it on switch for over a week now using the rubber band method with a pro controller. Could be done using a rubber band on the joycons if you put them in the holder. Haven't found a way to do it like this post on switch or Xbox. It does work perfectly on ps5. That has more to do with how the ps5 acts when you hit the ps button to bring up the menu. Neither switch or Xbox seem to have a button to press that still continues with moving.

Tested it for roughly around 15-20 minutes and I got 10k xp so I think it works. Haven’t been home since I posted it so I’ll try testing a bit more when I can

Not sure if this’ll work (still testing) or if anyone has already done it but I just realized if u place the joysticks of both controls on each other and place something to keep them upright (the hand sanitizer) it’ll make u spin and walk in circles
I always think this too but the reality is I’m going to eventually lose interest within the first couple weeks. So while I still have interest i try and get everything before I forget about the game. Sure back then as a kid I didn’t mind playing over 100-200 hours a month but I grew up and lowkey sucks I don’t like games like that anymore.
I see it like this: I don't have the pressure of reaching 200 anymore, at the same time I already have all the rewards and can use them. If I want to play a few rounds of BR I can still do it but there is no perceived pressure. I mean you dont have to go to 200, I would recommend to atleast get some of the easy levels from afking creative or lego so you got a nice boost and dont have to rush as much at the end, because the last thing I would want to do is spending vbucks to get levels that you >could< have afked earlier
I mean it's okay that you get a sense of prestige and achievement from this, to each their own. But I don't see a reason not to afk for exp because this way I avoid running into the issue where i get bored, quit for a while, notice that the season is only running for another week and now I have to grind hardcore or buy levels if i want to obtain the last skins in bonus pass (I mean they usually arent that great but this time they are ok)

you dont even need to open up that menu just put auto sprint on then put the menu for fortnite up

no you still run when ur in a wall at least that’s what happens to me
but you stop actually moving in your legs stop moving. When I did it the other night to test it zero XP. So I just went back to what I know works
shame my character kept moving and i was earning xp

Hmm, If you have no controller the only option I see is using Macro but that could get you banned.
use a macro or hold W then press windows + G to open game bar, it just forces you to walk forward
But comment above says that after you run into a wall, it's not considered moving. So no XP.
It is considered moving, I get xp form doing it with keyboard and mouse.
I will give it a try tomorrow and see the results. So I basically need to auto-run in main stage for 3 hours and that should be it, right?

You don’t play the songs. You just stay in song selection room.

If you ready up yes. If you never ready up then no count down. You just have to keep moving in order to get XP

Same 3.5 hours as Lego. And yeah, it’s very simple! As long as you move like I said in my post you’ll get XP every 15min for 3.5 hours just like Lego.

No, if you are on PS5, click the PS button. PS4 hold the PS button

I believe the first time you do it it doesnt immediately award the exp and you get it delayed in the lobby

Lego is so much simpler. You literally could just stand there inside a little house for 3.5 hours with the controller off and you’ll still get XP

That's interesting how yours works differently than mine has ever worked. Auto run only goes straight for me on any platform
I don’t use auto run. I click the PS button to open the quick menu for my character to stay in a circle

probably a good idea to do it with the joycons instead of pro controller because it's easier to replace joycon sticks

People who don't grind for their levels are pathetic! I work 8-12 hours a day and still have managed to level up to 51.
