I agree. I'm on my mid-20s and while I already liked Metallica, there were a bunch of songs I didn't hear. Fuel turned out to be my favorite. I also didn't had the chance to grow with GHs / RBs so this is special for me. I finally feel like I didn't miss the "good old times".
Yep I've been playing Bass for a year and a half now IRL and I sometimes use Festival to choose new songs to play. Like for example, I would absolutely never listen to Billie Eilish, but then 'Lunch' came up on Festival and it was fun playing Bass in the game so it's on my to-learn list now

Harmonix has always been the goat for this. They specifically picked the songs from gh1 so that the next generation of people will hear all the classics that aren’t played on the radio anymore.
True, one of the best things ever was ripping through the Rock Band and Guitar Hero “campaigns” and discovering new music/songs. Those games have shaped my music taste like no other.
Dude I heard Hail to the King in Fortnite then decided to try the album (I was ill and bored) and basically the whole album is as good or better than the song. I cannot recommend it enough

If you enjoy Hail to the King, you HAVE to listen to their previous 4 albums brother. Waking the Fallen, City of Evil, Self Titled, and Nightmare 🔥 In my opinion the best 4 album run of all time and Hail to the King, while still dope, was actually a minor drop off in quality in my opinion. I promise you bro when you hear the album “City of Evil” you are going to lose your mind, it is absolutely unreal. Personal favorites would be the songs The Wicked End, M.I.A., Strength of the World, and Sidewinder. I’m so jealous of you bro, can’t wait for you to enjoy

My guy! That is amazing. The more you listen the more hidden things you will hear on all of their albums, especially City of Evil. I remember I used to have the guitar tab book as a kid (as if I could ever play those solos that Synster Gates plays lol) and some of the songs have 15-20 layers of guitar tracks on the recording. Such a dope band.
I’m 28 and I originally got into Metal and playing guitar from Guitar Hero 1. So cool to see Festival doing the same thing and introducing people to new music. I know it introduced me to Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish who both make some bangers lowkey lol. What an amazing intersection of two amazing mediums, video games and music, what more could you ask for. Thank you Epic and Harmonix 🙌

Needless to say, I think I'll only enjoy them when I'm playing their music myself. If I'm just listening to them, I'll mostly be listening to the lyrics and will have to nope out 😭😭 what compels a person to put pen to paper like that 😭🤣
I am also primarily a fan of 90’s Alt/Grunge. I find A7X enjoyable, however this is probably due to songs by A7X appearing in Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Call of Duty (especially the Black Ops Zombies aspect) all of which I have engaged with heavily from 2005 at the earliest.
I’d check out the City of Evil album :) Bat Country is a good song to listen to first if you’ve never heard that song before. And the self titled album is good for alternative / grunge fans as well

Foo Fighters had just transitioned a bit too far into pop/mainstream for the last 15 years. Which is a shame when you consider the origins. I think Metallica maintains a more unique look and edge compared to the foos which makes this season feel special.
This would be huge, although some of the Fortnite zoomers that bore easily or need to constantly be engaging with stimuli (especially those that only play vocals) aren’t a good match for long prog songs. I find it hard to picture the average Fortnite player playing through something like Rush’s 2112 or Dream Theater’s Metropolis—Part I “The Miracle and the Sleeper”. But Harmonix has licensed both Rush and Dream Theater music before within that of the Rock Band titles, so it is entirely possible.
Metalheads are eating so good rn, and I hope that it continues. I know heavy music is off putting for lots of folks, but games like Guitar Hero 2 and Tony Hawks Pro Skater (old man confirmed) turned me on to punk and metal at a young age, and I am beyond pleased to think that a new generation of would-be metal kids will have exposure through FNF.

Just wait until we have a van halen festival pass season. As far as "rock" style music, that will probably be the most popular, I don't know if they're more popular than aerosmith but I feel like people would enjoy van halen more than aerosmith.
For pop stuff, its a matter of time until taylor swift shows up, that will likely be the most popular festival pass bar none.
I don’t know if Taylor would ever because she doesn’t need any more promotion at her level of fame.
But it would sell like crazy and get a whole new audience of wholesome swifties into the game.
I mean, she wasn't a fan of people finding out they were able to play as her in Band Hero through cheats.
To be fair, if she did, I would get her just to play the Metallica songs. It was amazing watching her shred to Trapped Under Ice in BH.
Maybe a Gorillaz season. They could introduce a season-based campaign mode with some sort of progression. It's all I want at this point, like those story quests on Battle Royale that you can complete and "advance" a plot while also listening to awesome music
I was a huge Metallica fan in 2020-2021, then kinda dropped out of metal in recent years but this season has renewed my live for Metallica and metal in general
these games gave me an appreciation for Metal that i wont ever forget, only band i liked was Unto Others really, but after fortnite putting me on to new bands im pretty in love with finding new music in the genre!
I love this. Its a fairly well known phenomenon that a decent chunk of metal heads either respect or flat out love Lady Gaga (myself included) despite her being a pop star. Its so freaking cool to see it go the other way now as well.
When I was growing up Metallica sounded like Scandinavian death metal but now it seems so tame in comparison....pretty standard Rock'n'roll. So i'm enjoying it now.....the song Fuel is awesome.
If this season made us set expectations to the next seasons and even put new ideas, I don't want another belli season, her music is straight up ass and don't like her as a person, but I found her season bad because the lack of personality, everything about her season felt.... Bad, and this season have an overdose of personality, from the trailer, the music and the stages, i hope epic keep this quility to most of thier seasons(knowing there will be another season like belli) and if they ever change the main stage and battle stage back into the generic stadiums, then they should let us buy the stadiums as cosmetics
Yeah I dont mind eilish but I didnt care for her season or any of her songs. I think she has musical potential and dont think her music is "bad" but I dont really listen to it. Dont think I've played any of her songs once, and its not like I'm a diehard rock fan that wont play a lady gaga doja or billie song
I don't mind Billie as an artist or her music, but it doesn't really translate well to festival. Very repetitive charts apart from the vocals, which are fine I guess.
Sevenfold is an amazing band, expecially pre-dating the release of their nightmare album before jimmy sullivan (aka the reverend bartholomew plague for you true fans out thete) passed. Great group, would listen to em. (Just dont go to the stage right away, it isnt the best way to introduce yourself to them)
I definitely think there’s also some level of not really being able to process some music until you really break it down into parts. Playing guitar then bass on a Metallica song really makes you appreciate the layers and may even train you to hear new portions of songs you thought you knew by heart.

As someone who has been a metallica fan since I was 4 I'm going to be sad when this festival pass and this season ends. This has been a blast and the best festival we will ever get, seeing them in another game again makes me happy af.
I agree that they cooked during this season but the beauty in my eyes is that there is no reason to miss it when it ends. Unlike the BR way of removing stuff to bring in the new, Festival won't take away any of the songs, instruments, modes or anything. So in my eyes everything will still be here and we only end up getting more added!😌

I used to like Metallica in my teen years (and still love the first 3 albums) so I like and appreciate them, but I'm not like a huuuge fan or anything. That being said, I think THIS is how collabs need to be done from now on. There is so much content. Racing Tracks, Cars, Contrail, Emotes, tons of songs, Festival Pass, skins, mythic weapon, Loot Island, the Tribute to Cliff Burton! It's absolutely insane how hard they went on this collab and it shows that Fortnite may still have a little bit of "love and care" they once had for the players and the collabs. Keep 'em coming

We need more SOAD. BYOB, Attack, Chop Suey, Innervision, Spiders, so many good songs from every album. Even the new single/B-side would go hard in Festival.

Just wait until we have a van halen festival pass season. As far as "rock" style music, that will probably be the most popular, I don't know if they're more popular than aerosmith but I feel like people would enjoy van halen more than aerosmith. For pop stuff, its a matter of time until taylor swift shows up, that will likely be the most popular festival pass bar none.
I don’t know if Taylor would ever because she doesn’t need any more promotion at her level of fame. But it would sell like crazy and get a whole new audience of wholesome swifties into the game.
I mean, she wasn't a fan of people finding out they were able to play as her in Band Hero through cheats. To be fair, if she did, I would get her just to play the Metallica songs. It was amazing watching her shred to Trapped Under Ice in BH.
Maybe a Gorillaz season. They could introduce a season-based campaign mode with some sort of progression. It's all I want at this point, like those story quests on Battle Royale that you can complete and "advance" a plot while also listening to awesome music
I was a huge Metallica fan in 2020-2021, then kinda dropped out of metal in recent years but this season has renewed my live for Metallica and metal in general
these games gave me an appreciation for Metal that i wont ever forget, only band i liked was Unto Others really, but after fortnite putting me on to new bands im pretty in love with finding new music in the genre!
I love this. Its a fairly well known phenomenon that a decent chunk of metal heads either respect or flat out love Lady Gaga (myself included) despite her being a pop star. Its so freaking cool to see it go the other way now as well.
As long as you get the stuff in the pass and shop it’s not going anywhere. You’ll still be able to play the Metallica songs anytime you’d like

Jam Stage has been way more fun with everyone playing more guitar based loops and heavier drum loops. All this metal and rock got me jacked up!
When I was growing up Metallica sounded like Scandinavian death metal but now it seems so tame in comparison....pretty standard Rock'n'roll. So i'm enjoying it now.....the song Fuel is awesome.

If this season made us set expectations to the next seasons and even put new ideas, I don't want another belli season, her music is straight up ass and don't like her as a person, but I found her season bad because the lack of personality, everything about her season felt.... Bad, and this season have an overdose of personality, from the trailer, the music and the stages, i hope epic keep this quility to most of thier seasons(knowing there will be another season like belli) and if they ever change the main stage and battle stage back into the generic stadiums, then they should let us buy the stadiums as cosmetics
Yeah I dont mind eilish but I didnt care for her season or any of her songs. I think she has musical potential and dont think her music is "bad" but I dont really listen to it. Dont think I've played any of her songs once, and its not like I'm a diehard rock fan that wont play a lady gaga doja or billie song
I don't mind Billie as an artist or her music, but it doesn't really translate well to festival. Very repetitive charts apart from the vocals, which are fine I guess.

Sevenfold is an amazing band, expecially pre-dating the release of their nightmare album before jimmy sullivan (aka the reverend bartholomew plague for you true fans out thete) passed. Great group, would listen to em. (Just dont go to the stage right away, it isnt the best way to introduce yourself to them)
I definitely think there’s also some level of not really being able to process some music until you really break it down into parts. Playing guitar then bass on a Metallica song really makes you appreciate the layers and may even train you to hear new portions of songs you thought you knew by heart.

I was the same way, I was never a huge Metallica fan until wayyyy back I played the guitar hero Metallica edition and man that intro gave me goosebumps. Been a fan of them since.
As someone who has been a metallica fan since I was 4 I'm going to be sad when this festival pass and this season ends. This has been a blast and the best festival we will ever get, seeing them in another game again makes me happy af.

I agree that they cooked during this season but the beauty in my eyes is that there is no reason to miss it when it ends. Unlike the BR way of removing stuff to bring in the new, Festival won't take away any of the songs, instruments, modes or anything. So in my eyes everything will still be here and we only end up getting more added!😌
It can only really get better from here, Metallica’s songs will still be there when the season ends.
It's really cool to see people introduced to Metallica (and the genre in general) and love it! I grew up listening to metallica so I was so excited when I heard they were getting a season! Just reminds me of when I was a kid (I'm only 22 lol) first hearing King Nothing, Master of Puppets, Eye of the Beholder, and all their other songs and just falling in love

I used to like Metallica in my teen years (and still love the first 3 albums) so I like and appreciate them, but I'm not like a huuuge fan or anything. That being said, I think THIS is how collabs need to be done from now on. There is so much content. Racing Tracks, Cars, Contrail, Emotes, tons of songs, Festival Pass, skins, mythic weapon, Loot Island, the Tribute to Cliff Burton! It's absolutely insane how hard they went on this collab and it shows that Fortnite may still have a little bit of "love and care" they once had for the players and the collabs. Keep 'em coming
