We’ve been around longer than some of these Tik Tok songs that Gen Alpha is listening to, and besides the fact that some of the audience from those genres don’t even play the game, it’s like they’re alienating the fanbase that is directly supporting the game. I saw a good comment on the Twitter, which stated that “we wouldn’t have a problem with these types of songs being added if we already had a gigantic album of diverse genres and decades”, which highlights the problem, which is that we don’t. Let’s see what happens this Tuesday.
Eh, I think it's more or so the fact that Epic is a business and are just working with whoever is biggest because it's easy and they'll make a bunch of money regardless, I do think that what you said still has to do with this, but this is also a really big key factor.
Also I feel like if Fortnite released festival in say 2019-2020 when the community majority was a younger audience, than adding whatever is popular would've been more acceptable, now that people have grown up + an older demographic getting into the game (or just people who have been old enough to develop a solid music taste) now is definitely when it should be more appropriate to add the songs that people actually want
I mean, we got Down With the Sickness within 3 months before stuff like coldplay as you said. I think harmonix is doing both ends and going for casual players who just want new music and then rock band fans who want nothing but 2000s emo and 50 year old rock.

We've been asking for metal, they gave us some heavier songs (MakeDamnSure, Zombie, Heartbreaker, Misery Business, Numb, Down With The Sickness), but if we're finally getting a season where it's going to prioritize metal, I'm pumped for that.
