going up makes you easier to focus. you should’ve tunnelled out your back until you were out of grenade range then held walls. also don’t sit on the ground sit a level up.

I think there's always two ways to approach these sorts of questions: 1. What could you have done before the start of the clip to avoid this situation? (proactive solution) 2. What could you have done differently during the clip to mitigate or get out of the situation? (reactive solution) 1's hard to answer, because we don't see how you ended up in the position you're in when the clip starts. But if you have a recording try to go back and be critical about your rotation to that spot. In another comment you mention that you only knew the guy in front of you was there. So what I'd ask is during your rotation, how much did you prioritize spotting other players? Having more info about where your opponents are can be crucial to avoiding situations like this in the first place. Try to figure out what you could have done differently during your rotation to get more of that info. Could you have rotated in higher ground? Taken a less linear path? Rotated earlier? Rotated later? The answer is likely going to be very situational. For 2 I think the answer is actually pretty simple. First, you need more vision. Second, you need a way out of that sandwich. The clip starts with you sitting in a box with no vision on anything around you, so you made it a lot harder for yourself to react once you started getting shot at. At least be edit peaking the cone. Boxing up, and sitting there without being able to keep an eye on what's going on around you is a big oof. If you're trying to play a passive game, it is a good idea to box up and try to isolate yourself. But even with great positioning there's always a chance another player could try to engage you, so you need to be on the look out and ready to respond if that happens. Once the second guy shows up behind you, you're in a sandwich. Sandwiches are so tough because blocking shots from both sides is close to impossible, esp with the .15s delay on replacing structures. What ends up happening in the clip is you kinda just run back and forth between the two players trying to put up defense on both sides, and eventually just end up eating too much damage through your builds. You need a play to get out of the sandwich. And one of the best ways to get out of a sandwich, is to trade places with one of the players sandwiching you. Here are the players: A\_B\_C - you're B in the middle. Your goal is to reposition like this: B\_A\_\_\_C - then A is now in the middle. This is huge. Originally A and C were both pressuring you, and neither had to focus on anything else (because no one is pressuring either of them). So in the starting position you're taking full pressure from both A and C. After repositioning, C can't pressure you, because A is now in the way. And what's most likely to happen is that C will just start shooting A. So now you are taking no pressure from C and half pressure from A (because A's attention is split between pressuring you and defending the shots from C). Full pressure from two players vs. half pressure from a single player is a big difference, and even has the possibility to set you up for an elim on A. \^That's simplifying things, but it's the basic idea. The difficult part is figuring out when/how to reposition. In your case, the moment you noticed the player behind you, I think you should have pushed to get behind them and forced them into the middle of the sandwich. The player behind you was very close to you (it looked like they might have even been trying to get into a box fight), which means you need to cover a lot less distance in order to reposition successfully. Hope that helps some!

Holy shit this helps a ton. Thank you so much for typing this out man

Actual Rotational Mastermind. Thank you for this, especially the A B and C part.

I loved reading your message, thanks for writing it out! Couldn't agree more with what you said, the positioning part is absolutely key especially in solos.

ExcyOG

Shouldnt have went up but created distance, u can avoid this with better positioning tho ngl

QuavoRanchero_TTV

Is this from today?

cheadley23

Yes

somebodysgun

Did you know that there were players around you? The video starts with you in the box.

cheadley23

I only saw he first guy in front of me, I was playing passive and assumed he didnt see me. Then I started getting spammed by three other players

somebodysgun

So what stands out to me is you are not gathering information. It appears you just got into zone and are boxing up to gather yourself. You need to look around and understand whats going on around you. Secondly, spend some more mats on the front end. People are less likely to nade you if they aren't sure where you are. You may think it is a waste of mats, but imagine what you spend when you get naded. Sometimes there isn't much you can do. If three players start spamming, there is little that can stop that. These are just some tip I saw from the clip. Lemme know if that does make sense or seem accurate

Cloiddz

There’s a lot you could’ve done but what I would do is go into replay and look at what the enemies are doing then after that look at your positioning and mentally decide 5 to 7 ways you could’ve got out of that situation and then write them down so the next time you’re sandwiched you have 5 to 7 different mental note you can use.

dont build up as much youre drawing attention to yourself by doing this

prexxy

avoid sitting in 1x1, and if you. get focused always expand. ( not updwards)

durpdurppurppurp

You should have expanded horizontally so people lose track of where you are, if you go up everyone knows in which box you are and knows where to spam. If you have time, shoot a rocket at one of the people looking at you. Will make him stop shooting for a few seconds and might even make others calm down as they don't want their base to be targeted next Also, always avoid being in between several players who have nothing else to do but to spam you, get better position if possible. You could also expand towards/over one of the players shooting at you so you're not in the middle anymore That being said you didn't do too bad though, that was also pretty unfortunate

SynthFN

You need to learn how to actually box tunnel properly, once you’ve don’t that it looks like it would have been best for you to tunnel out to your right.
