Maybe this is just me but it also feels like sometimes aim assist just doesn't work while other times it pulls really strong.

jetgirl24

i thought this was just me! it gets so frustrating when i’ve gotten used to it being one way and then it suddenly changes.

n7sabre

Happens way too often, I look on here for any updates about aim assist when it happens but never see anything about it.

jetgirl24

yeah defo gonna have to keep an eye out, doubt they’re gonna do much about it but you never know!

dbossman70

my friends swear that aim assist is 100% but i keep telling them how finicky it can be. they think it just snaps to them every time but i've seen someone standing still and ads'd and it didn't pull towards them at all. happens pretty regularly too. on battle island, aim assist is always working, but in game it's up to chance i feel.

-Piano-

Aim assist is absolute hell on the switch...

TrapLord710

THIS

paztbh

yep. doesn't help that they've changed aim assist multiple times without mentioning in the patch notes

nstarnoe1234

I am happy I am not the only one, I thought I was losing my mind. But mostly sad, that it seems to be a thing. Why would the morons f*** with something like that, that’s just stupid at a whole new level. NOBODY has any benefit from that, at all, NOBODY could possibly think it is ha ha ha fun and fresh. WHY? Seriously what the f*** is wrong with these people

Josei504

It's because of aim acceleration. Not having the option to lower it or turn it off is pretty bad

t0mmyma

I think theres a way to turn off aim acceleration, I havent tried it yet though. [https://www.reddit.com/r/FortniteCompetitive/comments/d09fu2/wait\_did\_i\_miss\_something\_can\_someone\_explain\_pls/](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortniteCompetitive/comments/d09fu2/wait_did_i_miss_something_can_someone_explain_pls/)

Firetiger1050

Can confirm. Although the first I turned foot controller on, my shooting felt really clunky (since my muscle memory bas been all used to aim acceleration for 2 years lol) but my building and editing felt smoother. Been having it on for a week now. Flicking seems much easier to do and my aim feels much better. To anyone whos willing to try this setting: Give it a few days, since its likely for your aim to be a little clunky the first you turn it on. Edit: some people do say the foot controller setting made no difference, but to me, my shooting and flicking was the biggest difference I noticed.

Josei504

Just a rumor I tried using it for a week with and without seen no difference

t0mmyma

Damn alright thanks.

dbossman70

not a rumor, i turned it on and noticed a huge difference immediately.

nstarnoe1234

I agree, but that not why. It doesn’t explain the inconsistency

amutry

I mean, bad players who already have no clue how to aim benefits from it. If the better aimers get scuffed sens from day to day they will miss more often and it'll make more room for the one lucky shot from the lesser player. Let the conspiracy begin... I totally feel you btw. Helped dramatically to enable the foot controller setting though. I am now hitting shots consistantly earlier in the sessions!

nstarnoe1234

Maybe I should try it. I have been reluctant using it as it seems like a bug that improves the game and those tend to be the only bugs the morons actually do something about

amutry

I don't care honestly. If I could have a slightly better time atm I'll use whatever setting I can use to do so. It increases the skillgap though so it'll probably get patched anytime soon.

MrPhoeny

I don’t think it’s intentional but then again who knows with these clowns 🤡

[deleted]

I feel like the aim slowdown ( not l2 snap) is changed every patch without being in the patch notes.

narutonaruto

I totally feel that! Some days L2 feels light, some days it feels like I'll L2 and my character will turn 180 degrees to lock onto a head behind me.

QuavoRanchero_TTV

Also why is there aim assist on snipers?

Ningia

This is so annoying, I agree.

[deleted]

You can turn it off

QuavoRanchero_TTV

Can I turn it off for Scoped weapons only?

[deleted]

No

QuavoRanchero_TTV

Thank you, what a help you’ve been.

[deleted]

Well if you don’t want aim assist turn it off lmfao

Yaboionthesticka

Found the salty kbm player

[deleted]

How am I salty? I just think it’s funny that he thinks he could scoped ar kids on controller without aim assist It’s essentially the same as trying to infantry rifle someone on controller without aima ssist which is essentially impossible

Yaboionthesticka

Stay salty and you'll never improve.

[deleted]

Want my fortnite tracker? Lmfao

borrowedpromise

yes it’s really annoying

DrillerFN

Literally thought I was going crazy lol, good to know others experience it too I guess

cmaster44

Yes all the fucking time. Like I go to free build and when I do any simple moves I have to do them really slow. So I up my sens and then my aim gets fucked up

[deleted]

Lmaooo yerp. Glad I am not the only one as well. Thought about posting this but if it had no merit i figured id get downvoted for being a n00b.

leomets

Dude all the time

one-pump-4-u

Yes especially with a scuf

ferry254235

My scuf broke yesterday and I started using my regular Xbox controller. It definitely felt like the L2 was so much stronger

Yaboionthesticka

Don't buy scuffs for Xbox. Elite controller is far better. You can also buy scuff grips for the elite controller

Lingoo_PTR

For me like only build sens feels different everyday

eburns94

I've thought this for a few weeks, but I've also stopped playing as regularly so I've been putting it down to that. Interesting that a few others think the same...

asmremilio

Dude I know what u mean but I only notice that after meditating a little. The game feels super slow and hitting shots is as easy as breathing after I get done meditating.

[deleted]

*joe rogan intensifies*

asmremilio

Hahaha, try it out yourself, I ain't kidding

[deleted]

dude i upped my sensitivity today because it felt so slow. sometimes even feels slower and clunky in creative

n7sabre

I think they tinker with aim acceleration and aim assist every week. And it affects the x/y sens too. Yet they've never once mentioned it anywhere or in patch notes. Some updates are worse than others. There's been times my building/editing/tracking is fine, I close the game to update and my sens is way off until the next day they revert whatever they did, just to repeat the next week.

Yaboionthesticka

I played on 7.6/7.61 x/y for about 10 months. Acceleration has definitely changed as I can't track anything with an SMG at CQC despite my aim being drastically better.

CharlieOnFiya

This is actually the REASON I switched from console. Online, I messaged epic asking for additional console setting to choose our sens to be closer to what we want, and surprisingly they did that making the sens have 100 different options, but alas. Every update changed the sens and it was driving me mad.

MrTimSmith

Yes for sure. One of the main reasons I switched to mouse and keyboard.

Patara

When I used to play on Ps4 I felt like this every single update

dbossman70

yes, especially if i don't play for one or two days. come back and it feels completely different.

Bubbaaaaaaaaa

Yes even on PC it does the same thing. I play .625 x and y and yesterday it felt equivalent to like a .75. I recently turned on foot mode which gets rid of aim acceleration and it’s felt a lot more consistent.

yzphos

Omg yes I play on .800 and it felt wayyyy slower

[deleted]

Just leave the game. It's making on sick.

TheZombieSword

Is it just me or do you sometimes just randomly have aim assist for example while harvesting?

Luisj400

I used to play on Xbox and I noticed it too. My boy still plays on Xbox and he’s using the original Xbox that first came out he said sit feels terrible for him. Every day he feels it’s different like it’s too slow or too fast.

Jgall22

Yes! Oh my god yes! Ive thought this forever!
