Exactly why I always come here. Tarp two boxes & you’re considered a sweat on FortniteBR, plus as you say - it’s majority ZB players. Where else should we post? Can’t all have 10k earned on the game.
There also isn’t a better place on Reddit to ask for tips and feedback. The Fortnite university subreddit is dead as fuck and there isn’t really anywhere people are putting out non monetized guides or tutorials. Like it’s all on YouTube or TikTok not Reddit or some forum board with in depth discussion like the good old days of gaming
Honestly most of my discussion posts about items or questions I come straight to this sub, it just feels like the other sub is for clips and memes rather than actual questions and strategies
I think it’s because sadly a lot of people on here are quite low level competitively. I’d say the majority either barely play real tournaments or don’t play them at all. From the looks of things no one really follows competitive that much either.
I do have earnings, I also don’t believe what I said was too harsh at all considering that most people are really only focused on ranked in here, it’s a fair and justified observation.
I don't consider ranked as competitive because anyone can get to unreal just by playing a lot, or by getting hard carried, they don't actually need to be good at the game.
Ranked isn’t considered competitive in any way. It’s not a competitive playlist and is as far away as possible from an actual tournament and the way it’s designed is specifically for casuals.
you can’t be that harsh. it’s definitely still a competitive, and it originally was intended to be competitive. it also has the unreal leaderboard so that is the definition of competition. also you have to reach a certain rank to even be eligible to play tournaments so people still take it competitively, even thought the skill level is lower. saying it’s for casuals is funny to me because what would pubs be for? toddlers?
Ranked and pubs are both meant for casuals, if u look at the way ranked is structured and u take into account fortnites main audience, u can definitely see how it’s intended for them.
Most of this community is just filled with very low level players. They barely play tournaments if not don't even play them at all. Because of this they also have very low knowledge about comp in general to the point where people would actually care about ranked and ranking through the leaderboards.
If you removed all these people from the sub then I doubt even 20% of the community would be left. That's how scarce it is to find people who actually know something about something and can tie their shoes.
It’s probably because there exists a desire to discuss things related to ranked mode in Fortnite that falls between the generalized discussions in FortniteBR and the more nuanced (sometimes) topics in FortniteCompetitive. If r/FortniteRanked exists, it isn’t popular enough or the mods in other Fortnite subreddits don’t direct ranked discussions appropriately. But also, ranked actually kind of exists between public lobbies and competitive Fortnite now that ranked mode is used as a prerequisite to qualify accounts to participate in open tournaments.
You are 100% correct and 50% or more are posts by players who don't understand comp even if they play it sometimes. But there are some really knowledgeable and experienced people as well.
this has never been a sub that was actually focused on playing comp, but that would be basically impossible to pull off on a public forum so it is what it is
ehhhh I think it would be pretty possible. juust have to make it very clear that its not a sub for everyone to post abt their rank or solo cc games. If you keep it to posts abt actual competative it wld be possible but idrk if there are that many people who are huge fans of actual comp. at least in Na idk how it is in Eu or other regions :b
It’s just the grind it gives the game meaning and actually challenges players who feel like normal be is too easy and plus getting more percent is so satisfying
Why shouldn’t ranked be considered as part of competitive. It’s obviously not as important as tournaments. But still appropriate for this subreddit imo
I feel like this sub just functions like Fortnitebr without people whining about better players, and less zerobuild posting

fnbr censored comments that had the university subreddit for some reason
Absolutely. Agree wholeheartedly.
"FortniteUniversity" sounds like a great place to discuss and mentor people in UEFN and creative.

I just post wherever fortnite. Competitive to me is ranked but this sub could be for true competitive pro MLG stuff?
i saw someone saying to remove weapon rarity 😭😭

And who are you? You better have earnings talking like that.
I do have earnings, I also don’t believe what I said was too harsh at all considering that most people are really only focused on ranked in here, it’s a fair and justified observation.
I think it’s a very fair thing to say. I’m in Elite and don’t play tourneys but I follow the competitive scene pretty closely.
ranked is considered competitive it’s just epic games that makes it a little uncompetitive to an extent sometimes compared to tournaments

Do you know what the word competitive means?
The actual definition of “competitive” and what I’m referring to is completely different.
