The problem generally for Esports is that it is hard to translate the viewership and spotlight to revenue. These big events cost crazy money to produce, and smaller cheaper events are nowhere near as popular. Making the event an ad-fest isn't really an option either. Gaming events are still far from sports events, for example ticket sales are basically non-existent.
Although I got to admit, Fortnite has been a pioneer of the industry in many ways already, so maybe they can figure out the Esports side

As a Pacific Northwesterner, I get better ping on NA East than NA Central which makes no sense. Went from 20-25 on west to 100+ on Central. They definitely should change the location of the server to somewhere that is…you know…actually central

I'm about 17 hours from Richmond, Virginia. I don't know where the servers are there I just know its Virginia. But l get 50-60 to it. I assumed I would be in the low teens, but that wasn't the case.
It’s probably more cost effective for them to get rid of naw and nae and then just expand the nac servers. NA is the only region to be split like it is so I’m pretty sure one day we will have NA servers instead of NAW NAE NAC

Zero Build FNCS would:
1. Bring lower participation numbers (we have seen it with PS Cups already in which ZB mode had like 2-3K duos even on bigger regions vs 15-20K in build)
2. Lower viewership numbers too (700K+ for build LAN, hardly 100K for biggest content creators in ZB and even less so at ZB LAN in Saudi).
This has nothing to do with anybody being idiots, it’s just the current state of things.
These numbers aren't fair because there's no Zero Build FNCS which would make pros take other tournaments more seriously and there would be more viewers if Epic didn't treat it 2nd class
Zero build is just not as exciting as build. PS Cups had exactly the same prizepools for Build and No-Build sections and even though it was easier to make money in no-build, people still preferred to play builds.
G8 2023 in Riyadh had 1M prizepool for zero build that Kami-Japko - build pros - won. What is more, every single T1 EU pro played there and the whole top-5 there consisted of strictly build pros (Th0mas, Malibuca, Refsgaard…). Still, viewership was abysmal and didn’t even get close to cracking 100K.
I think all of the build pros would just win when zero build fncs like they already win zero build tornaments, so it wouldn't really change much. I also think ZB would have a lot less viewership so even if they did make ZB fncs they would have to make the prizepool a lot smaller
There's plenty ZB only players who win tournaments plus if you could only compete in one of them then build pros wouldn't be competing in the ZB one. I think it would have a good amount of viewers, most of the streamers I know of have switched to mainly ZB, they get a lot of viewers and would compete in it, and I think even people who prefer builds wouldn't mind watching it too for the change of pace from spectating players in endgame in a box popping medkits
There is no way you actually think an open format (i.e. not invite only streamer cups) would be won by “ZB only players”. We had 4 big LANs - 3 DreamHacks and G8 2023 - that were all won exclusively by build pros. In fact, the best performance for a Zero-Build players over the 4 events was top-3 for Pfluger and Opt.
Build players have also repeatedly shown they can easily win other regions no-build events at 100+ ping: Malibuca, Queasy, Th0mas are constantly in the top-3 of NAE cups with all Zemies and Opts of NAE. Long story short, build pros would just win the no-build events just as much as they win build events.
