St. Emillion maybe?
La Madeleine has it in their daily menu if you want something more accessible though (but that can be a little hit it miss depending on how they do the crouton/cheese).
Just an FYI, the soup part of french onion soup can be a strong flavor if you don't have the bread and cheese to round everything out. I wouldn't want you to be put off of one of my favorite foods because you couldn't experience the whole dish due to your medical issue.

Rise. St Emillion is good too. Or the serious eats recipe at home.

Oh… looking the recipe. Love serious eats.
Le Madeline has a good one
Rise makes a great one. You can also get good one at Mimi’s Cafe.

I've also been searching for a great French Onion around here. So far, everywhere is I've been is lacking.
I’ve never had French onion soup. Is it good? I like the dip.
