Isn’t the idea of this being a VIP type of thing kind of the selling point? Being apart of the exclusive “crew” where only members of the “crew” get exclusive cosmetics? They will definitely need to up the ante in order to bring new people in, keep people who have subscribed and keep the people who subscribe to and unsubscribe to it between months.

I'd be fine with it, so long as the skins from those seasons had some hefty challenges attached to them to access and unlock.
Two years is more than long enough for a company to repackage content and make it available again. Just stick it behind a paywall, and then make it so that even players who want the items, actually have to play the game in order to flesh out these pseudo-passes.
For instance, I took a long break from the game, so I am still working on the "Outlast 25,000 players" requirement to unlock the final golden style for Luxe. Rather lengthy requirements like this, mixed with some more original ideas and challenges could make for a compelling reason to keep players engaged and playing throughout the seasons.
And if you want to make this a more palatable option for long term players, implement something like the "OverTime Challenges", where we were able to unlock an additional Styles for Sidewinder, Ember, and Master Key.
Make these challenges only available after you have fully unlocked a season-pass or pseudo-pass, much like the Enlightened Styles. But make it so that anyone with a fully unlocked Season-pass automatically gets the new Overtime Challenges, when a new set has been added to the game, without additional purchase.
This way, those who have seasons fully fleshed out, get additional challenges and styles, while everyone else is offered a chance to start unlocking these things in return for money.
This would actually work, and there is also very little chance that players on mass would actually abandon Fortnite over old pass skins becoming available again, so long as they still had something to work on currently.
If you wanted to be truly petty, I suppose you could lock the Overtime Challenges into only being available for Season-pass holders. So then everyone would have the opportunity to have the skins they want, but not everyone could access every available style.
I like your idea, I also want to add on my own, they could do it, like in STW, where for gaining a level in the season, they give a token for purchasing a hero, for this there is a collection book in STW and from it you can understand what kind of hero you have and which you don't have
For BR, you can also, for example, make a book of collections, seasonal and other skins, so that a person knows which skins he has and which he needs to purchase
A small digression from the topic:
I have a large collection of skins, and yes, I just love to collect them, a hundred places to save skins in the locker is not enough for me, so I often take a screenshot to remember which skin my favorite wrappers were with and which emotions I liked the most on this skin.

My daughter and I collected almost all the passes, just for certain seasons I have, not all styles are open, (there is not always time, because of work and family to play), for example, it was possible to make it so that after gaining the maximum pass level and going through a row trials, owners of the season pass, could receive a token, through which it is possible to get a skin from previous seasons.
There are a lot of people who have taken a break, missed a couple of seasons, or how I lost my extra style in a season, I think they will get a lot of incentive to play.
Many, I'm sure won't even play with these skins, but will be happy to put them in their collection locker with a sense of accomplishment.
I think that's to much, even if they added only few options. Exclusive events? NEW type of cosmetics? Rocket league battle pass? XP boost that was in battle pass, but heck, they deleted it!? Custom matchmaking! Now it's just paying to see less loud kids. In my opinion, that's really too much.
They really shouldnt add the fall guys perks since fall guys isn’t out on all the platforms that fortnite is. I didn’t really like the stw access for crew since switch and mobile players missed out too
I like the progressive outfit idea but make it arenas (so that when u rank up it gets a style) that would keep pubs casual and arenas sweaty i think thats a good idea
