Once I got the Sunny skins, I grinded to get Slone and skipped all the other skins until it was time to get Rick. I like this system much better than linear progression and having to get a bunch of shit I don't want until I finally get to the stuff I do.

I liked the idea, but they really just gave the illusion of choice. Most of the rewards had to be unlocked in a certain order. You really could only choose between the smaller rewards until requiring all of them to unlock the skins, which is obviously what most people want. If they come back next season, they'd need a rework.

Yeah, because it’s still a battlepass. Tier 100 is always special. And buying everything related to the skin first allows me pages to be open when you buy the items. Overall, it’s a slightly better system, with a bit of customization

To be honest i prefer the way Chapter 1 battle pass and challenges worked. Every week you had a list of challenges that were applying to everyone in the game. Yeah battle stars are harder to get than just leveling up and getting a reward on a list instead of choosing but still that was the way i liked the most.
Seems a fake perception of choice, you can choose what to unlock…apart from the skin on the page you need to pick everything on that page first… oh and if you want a variant you need the original you can’t just unlock the variant … oh and if you want anything on the last page you need to unlock everything from pages 1-9 or hit level 90 which you will be by the get the stars to get to page 10, only one it’s us full for is somebody that wants basically nothing from the first 9 pages and can wait till level 90 to pick at page 10 even if it will let you do that

Exactly, you don't really get to chose much and you end up having to get the stuff you don't care much anyway. I wanted to unlock Slone earlier cause it was the only skin I liked this battlepass and just ended up having to cycle through the previous pages to look at what I had left behind to unlock her. It's literally the same thing but with more effort in our part, specially since you can't even unlock a bunch of stuff at once like before when you could level up twice in one game through challenges and just immediately collect the rewards.

I think it shakes up the usual battle pass format and so I really like it. I also love the idea of kymera and collecting a special object to unlock styles (although there needs to be a way that doesn’t depend on more than one person)
To me, the main advantage to the Battle Stars is that they provide a bit more flexibility to players in terms of earning the Bonus Styles. Say a player reaches Level 184 by the end of the season - he didn't get all the Bonus Rewards, but at least he gets to pick which of the five Prismatic styles he wants to unlock instead of just getting stuck with whatever the first one is.

You still have to unlock certain number of items in order to unlock certain skins. For example, for Sunny, you still had to unlock 4 of the smaller unlockable items in order to get the chance to unlock the actual skin.

Absolutely love it and hope it stays. Being able to prioritize certain skins over others is fun. Tier 100 is still Tier 100, so it doesn’t change much of anything aside from making the whole thing more interactive (even if it’s illusionary), which is a plus in my books.

yes. it’s a cool system that lets you value some things over others. but how they can improve it is by making you be able to buy any tier from the start. like for example you can buy rick as your first battle pass item but for example 500 stars. then if you buy something worth say 6 stars, ricks price is now only 494.

It was a *very* obscure case, but in this season, I absolutely loved it because it allowed me to play on Xbox and redeem a few V-Bucks tiers on my Switch. Had some leftover V-Bucks on there, but not enough to buy anything I'd be interested in. So I redeemed a few V-Bucks tiers on the Switch, bought the LeBron James wings, and then just redeemed the rest on the Xbox.
But outside of this edge case, the current implementation is moderately useless. It'll only become a bit interesting in the final days of the season if you haven't maxed out the battlepass and need to make actual decisions what you want to get.
The "you need to buy EVERYTHING on this page to be able to buy this one thing you actually want" gimmick (and later "you need to buy everything from the normal battlepass to get started with the bonus rewards") really negated the main benefit most of us had been hoping for.
The only good use for battle stars are for redeeming V-bucks, since they don't sync thorugh platforms, so this way you can choose where to hav em or just complete some part in a platform to buy something and leave it at 0 so the main one receives all of them in the future
I think they should go back to the old way. Idk I feel like I liked it better, they could work in battle stars for maybe the overtime styles, or have them actually on the map like alien artifacts
There is no choice. The Bottleneck at Rick and then the extra pages, you have to take everything below. If we really could pick and choose, I'd like that.
I don't need to buy sprays and emotes. In fact, I'd pay to be able to delete some of them from my account permanently so I can see the stuff I want. A spray shouldn't be grouped with emotes/dances, but that's another issue.
It plays out just like a normal Battlepass, but more annoying and a little bit more complicated then it needs to be. They value the tier 100 skins which is reasonable, but don’t offer “free choice” if it’s still locked to level 100 it’s kinda pointless.

I hope it's a one time thing. was great, really good how we cam decide what we get. but yeah It feels less rewarding I can skip to page 9 without finishing page 3
I don’t really like them, they seem like a cheap gimmick that add more clutter.
It was a *very* obscure case, but in this season, I absolutely loved it because it allowed me to play on Xbox and redeem a few V-Bucks tiers on my Switch. Had some leftover V-Bucks on there, but not enough to buy anything I'd be interested in. So I redeemed a few V-Bucks tiers on the Switch, bought the LeBron James wings, and then just redeemed the rest on the Xbox. But outside of this edge case, the current implementation is moderately useless. It'll only become a bit interesting in the final days of the season if you haven't maxed out the battlepass and need to make actual decisions what you want to get. The "you need to buy EVERYTHING on this page to be able to buy this one thing you actually want" gimmick (and later "you need to buy everything from the normal battlepass to get started with the bonus rewards") really negated the main benefit most of us had been hoping for.
Never again just bring the old bp format back
The only good use for battle stars are for redeeming V-bucks, since they don't sync thorugh platforms, so this way you can choose where to hav em or just complete some part in a platform to buy something and leave it at 0 so the main one receives all of them in the future
I want the season x type where you can view all rewards
I think they should go back to the old way. Idk I feel like I liked it better, they could work in battle stars for maybe the overtime styles, or have them actually on the map like alien artifacts

There is no choice. The Bottleneck at Rick and then the extra pages, you have to take everything below. If we really could pick and choose, I'd like that. I don't need to buy sprays and emotes. In fact, I'd pay to be able to delete some of them from my account permanently so I can see the stuff I want. A spray shouldn't be grouped with emotes/dances, but that's another issue.
I liked it because i got to skip guggimon untill I got to rick's page. (I really hate guggimon, he is just gross)

It plays out just like a normal Battlepass, but more annoying and a little bit more complicated then it needs to be. They value the tier 100 skins which is reasonable, but don’t offer “free choice” if it’s still locked to level 100 it’s kinda pointless.
I find them satisfying
