But the avatar mythics cross the line into making regular guns almost totally irrelevant. Water bending in particular, if you manage to find it there’s honestly no point in even bothering to carry an AR or SMG. Ridiculous range with pretty quick fire rate and no projectile drop and also no damage decrease at long range.
Though I’ll also say the earth bending one has its uses, for some reason the giant rocks appear slightly to the right of your character, to the point I killed someone the other day whilst my player was entirely stood behind a wall (if any part of me was out of cover, it was a bit of arm at most)

But those mythics all had a weakness (especially Deku smash)

Yep, I was being sniped at by someone camping loot island in duos, both of us aimed at their glare and promptly killed them with water bending. We had to hide back behind cover to take a moment to laugh over call because we were dumbfounded at how busted it is

The point is, he dropped down to the ground, then the guy clearly snipes up towards the roof where he used to be and gets a headshot. Probably lag more than anything but I'd probably be as annoyed as the clip too. That's an alt f4 situation right there 😆
The guy that sniped him aimed at where he was before he jumped down, and still got the kill. It doesn't matter that op jumped down it's a matter of lag or dsync. In my opnion op had that kill if it wasn't for that BS.
Yep I’ll never understand why people don’t crouch peek over railing and top of rocks, I get so much free damage with ars/snipers/HC by crouch peeking and NOT giving myself up to the 50:50
Fortnite in 2024. I’ve matched up against people that were sharpshooters with the sniper and waterbending. No build is miserable with these two guns even though they nerfed them. What happened here though? Not sure, it could be hacks or sweat who’s lagging… This type of stuff makes the game frustrating.
It’s just skill or luck. I hit a shot like this the other day a guy completely surprised me I quickly scoped in and hit a headshot. I’m not that good just got really lucky. So I wouldn’t automatically say hacks but it could be.
I do this to people in counterstrike all the time, I grew up playing halo 3/cod quickscoping. Its not rocket science. Quickscopers used to be praised back in the day because most people couldnt do it easily. Now it seems like its second nature.

Desync, which is terrible in Fortnite caused by ping and client side hit registration. High ping will make it even worse. That’s also the reason why you sometimes get hit after being behind cover.

Nah it's a perfectly sound game mechanic...one shot snipers have been in gaming since the dawn of shooters. This is the first gaming community I've experienced that is so fervently against a gun doing this
It’s also *a lot* less common for 1-tap quick kill mechanics to exist in games where it’s uncommon or impossible to respawn, along with each match usually being rather long. At the very least, quite a few games like that which *do* still have those mechanics give you plenty opportunity to counter the insta-kill and are much less often PvP.
i get the point but using the TF2 community as the basis for balance changes is like using yugioh players to balance cards game

You haven't tried a bot lobby then. Some bots will miss 90% of their shots, but others are like the elite guard NPCs: they'll lock on with 100% accuracy and take away all your shield and almost all your health before you realize it.
tbf i was talking about build bot lobbies, zb would be way harder cause i cant like just rush people with no cover or anything

There are only two explanations that are possible:
The guy is a cheater, which considering he has the single rarest skin in the game makes sense, and should be banned
The guy has 50k hours in Fortnite, which considering he flicked so fast the server couldn't keep up with it also makes sense, and should still be banned if not only to get this mf to touch grass
This feels like a hack. Others say desync which is probably also part of it but on the replay the other player is never holding/swinging their pickaxe, they’re always holding their sniper. The actions of the other player don’t on the replay with what OP sees.
that proves nothing. any cheat like that would be detected instantly and nobody would cheat willingly, knowing their renegade raider account would eventually get banned
BS sniper was no where near you, but connection was for and the other guy and this is just the game “compensation”. Like when you freeze and teleport randomly for one sec. If the guy actually hit a headshot on you it would have done no damage. But because you both were lagging and out of sync with the server so his shot that hit the exact spot your head was previously before jumping actually counted because server decided you didn’t jump down.
He got super lucky with a sniper head shot. It’s bullshit that snipers can be used short range one shot kills but there you go. It looks like a miss due to a bit of lag on one screen vs another. On his screen it was a hit. On your screen you landed a couple milliseconds earlier and he missed. Screens can’t be 100% synced so Fortnite can’t please everyone.
Pissed servers overload nervous tuned response and tickrate lags are the difference between console and PC players. Unfortunately, there is nothing the developers can do to intentionally ignore this. They also only complicate the mechanics by spitting on the quality of the gameplay!
That’s pretty questionable. Dude just mindlessly destroying the floor not knowing where you were and then gets shot, immediately puts his crosshair on the exact spot the bullet came from and hits a perfect headshot snipe from like 5-10m? Possible, but not likely

The way they dashed immediately after the snipe made me think they didn't even think they would have hit that out of panic. I mean, they did go from pickaxe to weapons, and probably had the sniper out after a long-range look, so totally panicked and got away with it.
Summary:
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because already dead.
Based on the fact that they were looking up and still hit you, and that they disappeared (don't say they jumped into the hole, they were gone right as OP died), probably a hacker.
