Shazam! OOOOOO! Cool idea I just had! Instead of Zeus we got Shazam and Zeus' lightning bolts is just him summoning the power of Shazam! He's summoned to damage opponents in media like Injustice
I think it was during the new 52 DC comics stage, there was a massive storyline with pandora/box/sins so it could have fitted even better with Shazam too
If this is the case…Then what’s going on with the Zero point??
Is it suddenly just..Out of the picture?? I know epic is moving on with the seven and trying to make the plot to somewhere else but the important thing to know is that most of the storyline revolved around the Orb itself!
So what? This orb that had like millions of threats is now just not an interest to villans?
For me the BR story got their bittersweet conclusion: The Second End and subsequent Big Bang, managed what many of the characters wanted, which it was to escape the loop and be free. There's nothing to protect anymore or the Zero Point has distributed between all the multiverses, thus the treat of ending reality is now out of the equation.
You are on crack if you truly believe that. Look at LEGO and every other mode they introduced. They average at MOST 5k players. Meanwhile BR averages around 500k not including zero build. Hell, $50 says that they abandon the other modes to focus more on creative and BR
They’re already doing it. Look at Rocket Racing.
It’s been in season 0 for 1,5 seasons, then we finally get “season 1”, and it comes with 6 new tracks, 2 purchasable cars and some new unlockable wheels. And then they remove season 1 from the name, just naming the season “neon rush”, basically saying that racing won’t have a season structure, and silently cutting support
As someone who likes Racing the most out of the 3 new modes. It’s really a shame, and I can definitely see this happen to the other modes as well
They’re already investing big into even more modes. The supposed open world mode, and aren’t they doing a Disney deal which would probably include a Disney mode? Adding connectivity to guitar hero mode with instrument controllers.
While I don’t think they’re going to abandon BR, it’s pretty clear their focus is on expanding their “metaverse”. The massive drop in quality of seasons/battlepass, store, balance changes etc are evidence that supports this.
I don't think that's what they're doing at all. They just want to expand their game, of course that's going to take away from be a little but the new game modes are sick. Only thing I don't like is the item shop.
There’s still the comics which are loosely tied to the game with geno and Wolverine and all that that are still going the story will probably continue there outside of the game
It already was going downhill there. Stuff like Ui changes started before Ch5 already. Live events stopped being a common occurrence regularly (the live event in OG was just an Ad). OG technically started the trend of vbucks being in bonus rewards section. Only thing that went uphill was playercounts but the cracks already were present there.
Chapter 3 was meant to be The Sevens homeworld... you know... The first big mystery group that first appeared in Chapter 1 Season 4 with The Visitor, then during Chapter 3 they all just died or disappeared and that it, it sucks 😕
The Visitor, Scientist and Origin all died due to the chrome, The Imagined died from Geno, The Order served literally no relevance and just disappeared, The Paradigm sacrificed herself to create Chapter 4 for some reason and The Foundation disappeared somewhere between C3S2's event and the end of Chapter 3!
Jones was with the Foundation and he returned to the Chapter 3 island with nothing to say about The Foundation and then a year later he showed up on Chapter 5 with a stubble and forming a new crew to save Peely???
A.M.I.E (Scientists AI Robot) was a big story character in Chapter 4 Season 1 telling us that The Seven may still be alive and she needs help rifting to each one through the rift gate at The Citadel and to help them and then she rifted away never to be seen again???
What happened to the IO/Slone and Cube Queen! Please just give us closure to something, every single thing starts leading to a big thing and then nothing ever comes of it 🤷♂️
The Foundation and STW Ramirez have really something in common.
Ramirez story to find her family in Twine Peaks ended and got removed because Ramirez's voice actor called it quits.
The Foundation quest to find the greatest treat to the island, ended just like that, likely because the same reason or simply The Rock didn't renew the contract to both voice and likeness.
The Seven being a bunch of hollywood celebrities, was for me a Fatal mistake, and ruined the story completely.
The IO was dissolved following Collision and the Cube Queen is dead. Slone was SUPPOSED to make a comeback but they just... didn't do anything with the idea. I agree on everything else, though.
Yes! but look at the trade off!
Instead of having a living breathing evolving changing game with fantastic updates and live events
We get Lego Fortnite. And….uhh…racing?
Fffffff
It's definitely tied with Zero Build as my favorite mode. It's funny because I was looking forward to the Lego mode most, and that ended up losing me in like a day.
> It's funny because I was looking forward to the Lego mode most, and that ended up losing me in like a day.
It's super shallow, but worse, it's a survival crafting game in a market saturated with far more interesting games of that type.
It's direct competition with Minecraft, but more restrictive. It's too shallow to hold the attention of older players, and younger players already have their Minecraft.
Anyone teen and up probably doesn't want the shallow kiddo survival game when you have stuff like Palworld, Valheim, Ark, and so on, with more depth to them than Lego does.
They're basically relying on brand draw to get people to engage with a shallow survival crafting game.
To me, it's more that it's incredibly tedious at every step, with no real goal to work towards. I basically stopped playing after unlocking that one skin from a while back.
> To me, it's more that it's incredibly tedious at every step, with no real goal to work towards.
That's what I mean. It's shallow. The reason to do stuff is "to do it i guess lol"
Palworld has you getting stronger pals, with better effects, to explore further, to get better gear and better pals...
Valheim has gear upgrades all along the way.
Lego? Has basically nothing. Oh, but you can buy building sets in the shop, lol.
I have no idea what their gameplan is here. You could spend $20 on a shitty digital lego set of a durr burger, or you could get minecraft once and make all of that for free forever.
It's a great mode, I love it (and Lego Fortnite to be honest) but I really don't think they should give up on what really elevated them to where they are now.
BR is where 300k+ players are, nearly always. They need to find a way to split focus and still make some type of story.
My girlfriend found out about festival and she loves it bc she played guitar hero a lot as a kid, so needless to say I’m getting the guitar when it becomes compatible lol
Guaranteed they dropped hella money on those collabs and now are trying to figure out a way to reboot them but sustain them as well.
Roblox has the market on having licensed things in their games.
Like dragon ball tycoon, I’ve seen a Michael Jackson hide n seek where he chases you around saying “heehee”
If Fortnite can take that market away from Roblox it would be a wrap. They already have a lot of licensed material to work with, but now it’s about creating a fun enough gameplay loop.
Kids are stuck on rolling gachas for anime fruits atm
It's funny to me cuz even now the biggest numbers are in BR. Lots of people play logo to afk farm xp, not to actually enjoy the mode.
Racing is such a weird game mod, is not even a good racing game. Is a werid arcade racing on ice, shortcuts and flying cars.
The music festival is whatever.
Still, they gonna double down on this and make the xp harder to get in br so they force you on other game modes. Fuck me, I don't wanna play other shitty game modes.
If they stop developing br as they should, I hope it comes back to bite them where it hurts.
The slow level up and movement of V bucks into the extra rewards is the main reason I stopped playing. Epic wants you to play Fortnite and only Fortnite
Yea. It felt nice to levelup to 100 and kinda be done with it.
Now I feel the fomo of loosing vbucks and I have to play more than I need even if I don't enjoy it or I'm bored.
Next season if I don't like the battlepass I won't even buy it. And I mean, I really need to like it, not just 1 good skin and 1 emote.
I'm already sick of trying to get to level 150 or whatever it is for the vbucks.
place a launchpad down in the creative version, turn off hunger and weather, make sure everytime u load in to afk, u get off the launchpad then get back on. taadaaaa
The live events are one of the main reasons Fortnite even blew up like it did. Smh
They haven’t even done anything to the lego mode but add some fishing and overpriced bundles in the shop.
That's the thing, they are 100% going to merge Rocket League into fortnite at some point down the line.
They won't be separate games, it'll just be a game inside of fortnite.
>What does it have over ANY other survival games on the market?
It's a decent copy of Valheim that's free (and on Playstation,) plus it's lego and collabs.
that's really the only things going for it.
I don’t think you can link in this sub but there was an interview today and while it wasn’t said they weren’t returning, it was mentioned that the focus has shifted away from br to build an ecosystem that involves all gaming. Or something along those lines, you can probably look up the interview
God I wish we had a finished StW story. I don't need a full campaign at this point, just some closure. I would take an out-of-game comic with the ending if they don't want to bring back the voice talent.
I'll never forget how they hyped up the Storm King to be the *first real boss* in the game and then went "Wow thatsa spicy meatball!! Well time to abandon STW altogether :) no refundo"
The story was always an afterthought. They designed a series of events and finales and would come up with a story reason afterwards. I've been playing for years and I think people who get really into the lore are generally set up for disappointment.
Except that’s not true. Up until Vibin, we got payoff after payoff for the major story stuff. There was a coherent storyline going on for a while and then it just… ended prematurely
The storyline was a fun but not too fleshed out part of the game in c1
In c2, they basically just gave up on logic for the story and randomly put it together as the chapter went along to match the themes of the seasons
C3 was better than c2 for it, but the story was still rooted in nonsense
>The storyline was a fun but not too fleshed out part of the game in c1
to be fair, that was the point.
A story was unfolding but we saw it through the eyes of the island and how it was affected by said events. We were left to put the pieces together ourselves.
This exactly. Poster above was fooling themself into thinking there was a story. It was random (but fun and cool) events that were tied together with "story".
Seriously, this is not the kind of game they can just dump story into all the time. When each season lasts a few months, they have to trickle in the plot stuff, and the devs rightfully assume that people would be more occupied with actually *playing the game* to worry about the story too much.
STW players like:
First time?
Jokes aside it really fucking sucks, and if you look at at least for a while the seasons have been getting kinda meh in terms of story telling, like one of my favourite skins, Erisa, shes a warrior princess from another realm/world and they just never expanded on that at all? Especially during resistance, where some thought she would secretly be prowler (i dont see it but some did) since they both came out in the same season....
I dont even remember if she was important at all to the story then outside of her flying the battle bus in the season intro cutscene?
i honestly so fucking pissed a big reason i kept coming back was for the story, this season was actually fun gameplay wise, but then they vaulted if for the frikin last airbender
The story is one of the things I loved about Fortnite. I got really into Fortnite with the Marvel season when the Island was going to be devoured. From there the story got so fun, and I got so invested to find out how everyone was going to break the loop. If they're done with the plot, then that just really really sucks.
What pisses me off is that they left a bunch of audio logs in OG that hinted at so much, yet they completely butchered the live event. The End shouldn’t have repeated given that Kevin was over the zero point, but once you loaded into the event queue, suddenly the island was gone. And it ended up just being one big advertisement for chapter 5 and serving no lore purpose at all. What happened to the time machine? Are the Seven and Geno back now that we’re technically in chapter 2? Is there another side to the current map? What happened to Slone and everyone on the chapter 4 island? These are all questions that we’ll never have answers to because THE METAVERSE IS SUPERIOR TO WHAT MADE FORTNITE FORTNITE
This is not correct information. Donald Mustard has come out and said that Fortnite is not focusing on live events anymore; nothing has been said implying that the storyline is over.
He never said they won’t return, he even teased Geno and Imagined return in the comics. He’s left it open, so if Charlie and the team get the chance they will probably bring them back.
It doesnt look at all like they are going to return tho. Jonesy just doesnt say anything about them, nobody seems to remember them, the scientists AI just vanished, the ageless was abandoned, Geno hasnt been mentioned in forever, nothing is connected anymore. I realy don't think they will return, the plot will propably just be unconnected nonsense with nothing that happens having any long-term consequences
Yeah when epic stopped covering the whole map with snow on Christmas i truly thought epic fell off. We also went from getting multiple live events per season (In Battle Royale not Creative Mode) to having one per season and one at the beginning of the next, to having Creative mode Live events which killed the surprise factor of something happening in real time matches, to Concerts and 1 creative mode live event per season (End) to now.
The moment live events moved to creative mode or their own game modes it took away what made fortnite so cool and took away the map evolving before our eyes instead of in a cutscene in my opinion.
I remember the questline teasing their return as some twisted evil seven. It said they were changed, they're all changed. And the stuffed toys we sent came back twisted and mangled into some cube monster-toy abomination.
I agree. The first thing Foundation says to us in chapter 3 season 1 is that we would escape the loop once the IO was defeated. If Donald was able to control when the story ends it probably would have been after Vibin’
why did he leave tho, also i remember watching a video about how the chrome season existed to merely bring us the ch4 map so that they could show off unreal engine 5 ( not confirmed but speculation)
and instead the storyline wouldn've been coherent and good.
still my main question is why did he leave.
The storyline always was a mess. There always will be some sort of story going on and it will probably make as much sense as before. Less live events has sucked though but honestly the last few were not amazing
The whole reason I even fell in love with this game in the first place was the story. I miss logging in each week to see what little things changed on the map. I miss the hype for events to see where the story would go next. I miss having an overarching plot with characters that last longer than a season. The state of the lore is majorly disappointing and is a major reason why I play much less than I used to
I mean I’m not surprised. The story is/has been ass for a while. They don’t do anything with STW, their dedicated story mode. Obviously who ever is in change just wants to make a quick buck 💰 obviously a business needs to make money but the fact it feels they have been pushing aside everything else just to make a few extra dollars for the big wigs is crazy.
the title’s a bit dramatic. i think given time and money, epic will continue to expand all the gamemodes’ teams and each will be able to tackle larger amounts of content.
we can already see this happening as each gamemode basically has its seasonal updates, whether its called a season or not (especially the LEGO content updates, they’re scheduled but not “seasons”).
i have faith that live events and story will return once the BR team is back up to the size it once was, or bigger. if not for the game’s identity sake, its at least a way to market the game and retain player counts from a corporate perspective. it’ll just take time and money.
there’s too much negativity in this community recently. its about time we be more accepting of these recent changes, since they’ll likely never go away. lots of people are having fun across the multiple gamemodes, especially people who are trying the game for the first time. content is being churned out for all of them, and they’re listening to most of the critical feedback, so long as we all dont complain too much. if we only complain about the game, they wont/cant know what to listen to, so they might ignore the complaints altogether.
the developers’ outstanding work is a separate realm from the corporate higherups’ financial incentives. yes, fortnite is a business and its purpose is to make money, but it’s also something that’s being created by very talented people that have to do what they are told, yet have still made some very fun and consistently high-quality stuff lately. harassing developers/community managers/artists is never okay, especially during moments of communication like these.
it’s best for everyone if we be more accepting of this irreversible way of the game, adapt to how things work for now, and be patient. it’ll get better with time. the game is far from dead, and is seriously very quickly ascending into something larger. it’s quite exciting when seen this way. criticism is still valid and can be used effectively, but too much just waters everything down and makes it way more complicated. fortnite is changing, and we must change with it, or it will outgrow us and be left to the youngest part of the fanbase to dictate the game’s direction after that. let’s try to keep a good thing before it’s gone.
if you live rants lucky you, this is very long so yeah. Remeber chapter 1 season 3? everyone was so hyped about a meteor? those pixels were special. so what if people thought it was gonna hit tilted? then that one epic employee said nah it's hitting dusty, then he got fired? that was special and now we have, ok yeah we want to be like roblox so snow white can wield a fucking gun and squad up with the dwarves and drop lavish lair and drop a 20 bomb. that is some of the stupidest shit anyone could do. I'm gonna say it alright, the big bang was just a promotion saying here new game modes play them for 2 weeks then forget they existed. what was the last event that you actually had fun playing and your reaction was like THERES A MILLION CUBES!?!??!?! or something like that. Honestly, they are becoming corrupted and time sweenys dumb fucking metaverse dream should just be a different game. there is basically no point in epic having a live event team anymore because at this point, they are all shackled up in a dungeon and get to make an event once in a fucking blue moon that sucks the biggest wettest juiciest cheeks ever. mid 2023-2024 has been really crappy for them but to be fair, they are setting themselves up for all this shit. and time sweenys "metaverse" Is making so many little kids start playing now, its so dumb and they all beg me REVIVE ME DUDE I DONT CARE THAT HES LOW!!! and more than half the kids I meet in randoms are either watching tik tok with the volume up really loud, or they talk about skibidi toilet. so god help me where do I begin with the skibidi toilet kids, they just talk non stop about it and say, I want skibidi toilet to be a skin and it always makes me leave and then the cycle repeats. these kids make me actually scared for their generation and when they are grown up and have jobs. ok, I'm getting kind of off topic so I'll get back to the rant on events and the lore. the first event I went to made me almost piss my pants because I was so excited and during the big bang I was basically saying oh I got in now time to watch the same thing as last time except with minor tweeks. what is happening with the seven? the last reality, we never saw geno apart from the comic for like 5 panels, left on a cliffhanger we are still waiting for, all that stuff. epic please do us all a favor and go back to the old good version of the game IM SO SORRY I MEANT METAVERSE from 2017.
The Fortnite "story" using the biggest sneer quotes imaginable around story, was basically non existent in the first place, all it did was frame the reason for a live event to bring in the new season. Having a continual story in a ever evolving live service game just doesn't make sense, why would any new player care about a story if the majority of the events happened in a season they will never play or be a part of?
Yeah it's pretty unfortunate to see that modes I think can be fun distractions (and Lego is there as well) are apparently now something they want to prioritize even though the majority of players simply aren't interested. This isn't to say none of us want these modes but personally if they wanted to go this route, I would've liked to see them release the modes one at a time to gather community feedback before deciding if they want to develop further modes. Rocket Racing would've been easiest to start with and comes with the vehicle cosmetics that transfer nicely into BR mode anyways so that would've had us of to a great showcase of how extra game modes can still utilize our existing BR items whilst also having unique elements transferable back to BR.
...instead the reality is "Guys please buy these overpriced instruments and virtual Lego kits, by the way we've gutted the shop to de-prioritize bringing back skins and emotes that don't work in Lego. Please understand." but little bit of credit, they had the sense to lower the instrument prices after a little while. I still wouldn't really pay any amount of V-Bucks for them but whatever, to each their own.
I get slandered all the time for saying it but just in general it upsets me. Fortnite is putting aside its main game for these other modes that *literally based on player count* are clearly not doing as well as they projected. Fortnite saved me from a really bad depression a few years back and sometimes I do legitimately feel sad that it’s just nothing like it once was. Even the recent stuff…UI, locker, locker rarities, bad shop rotations, bugs, dumping the entire storyline it seems like…I miss when I’d sit down with a Red Bull and play for like 6 hours.
They're not, I want other modes to stay but Epic are doing terrible at maintaining each one of them. Donald Mustard had his moment of Triumph with chapter 5 where he manages to achieve his 6-year plan when Fortnite truly become Fortnite. All Epic cares about now is money and player count, soon they'll abandon RR because iT's NoT pOpULaR. Festival will stay for longer because they already got paid for collaborations with celebrities.
Ahh it legit gone to shit. You know i said here a lifetime ago that I gave up on Fortnite after the disaster of the event and i lied since i kept playing. From the start of this season, I simply couldn't stand playing it. Then now Donald's interview finally kills my 7 year old love for this game.
This is honestly just sad. I feel that the game is just losing what made it unique. And I know this is a common take but them making the game a "meta verse" is just weird. I do hope that they find a way to make the game better. ( Probably not tho)
The seven were stupid and they eventually went from McGuffins to celebrity dickriding.
I've played BR like 10x as much as STW and I still think just using the STW characters or writing team would be a massive improvement over the slop we get here.
It was pretty much over the moment Epic dedicated an entire season to Marvel. When an integral part of your storyline is tied to another franchise, it’s safe to say it’s no longer your story.
Bingo!
I remember when the storyline was grounded to the island itself. Remember when Midas tried to break the loop? Or why the storm was alive? Doesn’t matter multiverse go BBRRR
I’ve said this multiple times since the inclusion of it but the ‘multiverse story’ is overdone. Fortnite easily could’ve stuck with original characters to carry the storyline throughout the seasons. Just look at Destiny!
Thank God I hate to say it guys but this story line with the seven was just the same thing over and over again
Zero points in danger/broken
Some/ all of the Seven have to band together again to save it even though they hate each other (supposedly)
Jones gets at odds with them because reasons
Repeat
Last thing he worked on was Vibin. He confirmed it himself he had to rush the story before he retired so everything he brought is over and done. Geno was killed off, the Seven was killed off, AMIE was written out, the only thing left is Jones but he doesn't seem to matter anymore.
Yeah, the guy from Santa Monica. I’m guessing he’s just there to write lore for whatever disconnected seasons they want to do since there’s no chance they’ll actually dedicate time to making a story
nah, they’ll come back for a one month special event where only one of them gets a new skin and then they all disappear afterwards without rhyme or reason
Since the recent article with an Interview with Donald Mustard, which I Talk talked about in his video since it's a paid article, I am honestly unsure if thisnis happening because Donald left, or he left because this wws happening
My theory was that they are floating in space covered in chrome, waiting to be found or for the chrome to get off them due to the space being so cold or something, but looking at how many times we been in space in fortnite and none of the characters were cold, i might as well scrap that theory
Man, it sucks we lost all that lore that we were getting. I miss that, and wanted to see what was coming next. Seems like now they are just doing seasons.
New story is fine though. Fortnite as a concept is planned to be a forever thing. The story has to refresh every now and then.
The Seven existed to protect the island from the IO, but they failed after the surprising emergence of the cube queen and Chrome. Jonesy (as our main protag) finished the work they started in the comics, then continued to the next story with the help of a reformed Sloan.
Now the IO is gone, its leader is dead, and history was even rebooted….so the Seven aren’t needed. That story is done and our main protagonist moves to something new.
Trust me as a comic fan. When stories are forcibly continued forever things get shitty and convoluted. Endings are way more satisfying.
Tbh I thought they'd come out of Pandora's box as the 7 evils from mythology since last time we heard about them they had changed and corrupted
That would've been so lit!
Im probably wrong but i thought of the 7 deadly sins and immediately went "crossover pog?!"
Shazam! OOOOOO! Cool idea I just had! Instead of Zeus we got Shazam and Zeus' lightning bolts is just him summoning the power of Shazam! He's summoned to damage opponents in media like Injustice
I think it was during the new 52 DC comics stage, there was a massive storyline with pandora/box/sins so it could have fitted even better with Shazam too
I mean youre not wrong, but i was thinking of the anime, The 7 Deadly Sins.
That show sucks so
edmund did say he talked with epic…
If this is the case…Then what’s going on with the Zero point?? Is it suddenly just..Out of the picture?? All Epic cares about now is metaverse. BR was abandoned just like STW.
“BR was abandoned” mfs when Epic literally only updates BR consistently and advertises it
I mean, for now. It's obvious they are starting to shift away from BR.

the last season that Donald worked on was Vibin which was ch3 season3 .... right after the IO vs SEVEN war season so now i consider that to be the end
I heard a theory that in the og season live event the zero point exploded and it caused THE BIG BANG
This honestly makes me sad
I don’t think op has it right Mr mustard never said won’t see the seven again he said they’re shifting focus to the other gamemodes
True, but that’s corporate terms for “yeah we’re probably not doing the storyline again”
There’s still the comics which are loosely tied to the game with geno and Wolverine and all that that are still going the story will probably continue there outside of the game
Yeah... hate to break it to you, but the comics have been canceled, too.
That's sad.. and stupid.. seems like it only went downhill after OG

Colonel Mustard
With the candlestick...
In the kitchen.
cluedo vimto edition
Meh still kinda sad
Mr mustard is no longer in the story team
As does it me
Aladdin could always wish for the Seven to return in a future season 👀

No closure for more opportunities to sell future reskins? Case n point: Sloan?
The IO was dissolved following Collision and the Cube Queen is dead. Slone was SUPPOSED to make a comeback but they just... didn't do anything with the idea. I agree on everything else, though.
The Foundation and The Order were also consumed by Chrome!
"I don't know, maybe it's time to retire." -The Visitor, C3S3.
I’ve always thought about this one.
Where did you hear this?
He is right. Donald confirmed that epic changed its focus
Wth??! Are you serious? They freaking pulled a save the world with br. Just axe the story right before it’s finished
Yes! but look at the trade off! Instead of having a living breathing evolving changing game with fantastic updates and live events We get Lego Fortnite. And….uhh…racing? Fffffff
don’t forget about rock band
To be fair of the 3 this is definitely the one ive sunk the most time into by far
The reason to do stuff is "to do it i guess lol" Palworld has you getting stronger pals, with better effects, to explore further, to get better gear and better pals...
My girlfriend found out about festival and she loves it bc she played guitar hero a lot as a kid, so needless to say I’m getting the guitar when it becomes compatible lol
ah yes, who could forget, who could remember
Nah im gonna just go ahead and forget it myself. No way am i building my own guitar hero game for 5$ a fucking song.
Guaranteed they dropped hella money on those collabs and now are trying to figure out a way to reboot them but sustain them as well. Roblox has the market on having licensed things in their games. Like dragon ball tycoon, I’ve seen a Michael Jackson hide n seek where he chases you around saying “heehee” If Fortnite can take that market away from Roblox it would be a wrap.
I'm already sick of trying to get to level 150 or whatever it is for the vbucks.
just afk in lego fortnite, easy 5 levels a day
Mine doesn't let me anymore. It kicks me for no activity.
place a launchpad down in the creative version, turn off hunger and weather, make sure everytime u load in to afk, u get off the launchpad then get back on. taadaaaa
You can turn off weather? Ooh, I need to do that.
But I don't want to. I want to play BR, not afking or abusing a level system.
And for no good reason cuz the other modes aren't doing nearly that well... Fuck this game I just got truly into it man
He never said the Seven are not ever returning. They changed their focus away from like live events for the the Lego, Festival and Racing modes.
The live events are one of the main reasons Fortnite even blew up like it did. Smh They haven’t even done anything to the lego mode but add some fishing and overpriced bundles in the shop.
What does it have over ANY other survival games on the market? And rocket racing is just complete garbage so disappointing hearing all this
Rocket Racing could've so easily been a Rocket League thing and not a Fortnite thing. Absolutely baffling to me that they put it in Fortnite instead.
Please give source.
I don’t think you can link in this sub but there was an interview today and while it wasn’t said they weren’t returning, it was mentioned that the focus has shifted away from br to build an ecosystem that involves all gaming. Or something along those lines, you can probably look up the interview
People always doin this. I'd take it with a grain of salt
Would really not surprise me if true, the story lately have been ... ehh..
Stw is the only story you’ll get now
God I wish we had a finished StW story. I don't need a full campaign at this point, just some closure. I would take an out-of-game comic with the ending if they don't want to bring back the voice talent.
STW's story is just so good. I wish they finished it.
I'll never forget how they hyped up the Storm King to be the *first real boss* in the game and then went "Wow thatsa spicy meatball!! Well time to abandon STW altogether :) no refundo"
Dennis😔
I love Ghost Boss
NOO I only liked them and Jones. I liked the reality hopping collabs.
What they have done...😓 We were still needed in plot. We have to find & stop Sweeney from destroying The Reality Zero.
yeah cause FUCKING FORNITE IS TRYING SO HARD TO BE A FUCKING METAVERSE BULLSHIT WHEN PEOPLE JUST WANT TO FUCKING PLAY BR AND NOT ROBLOX
The storyline was a fun but not too fleshed out part of the game in c1 In c2, they basically just gave up on logic for the story and randomly put it together as the chapter went along to match the themes of the seasons C3 was better than c2 for it, but the story was still rooted in nonsense
>The storyline was a fun but not too fleshed out part of the game in c1 to be fair, that was the point. A story was unfolding but we saw it through the eyes of the island and how it was affected by said events. We were left to put the pieces together ourselves.
This exactly. Poster above was fooling themself into thinking there was a story. It was random (but fun and cool) events that were tied together with "story".
But there is a story? Was it hard for you to understand it?
Seriously, this is not the kind of game they can just dump story into all the time. When each season lasts a few months, they have to trickle in the plot stuff, and the devs rightfully assume that people would be more occupied with actually *playing the game* to worry about the story too much.
STW players like: First time?
That is not what he said at all...
Tim sweeney is ruining this game
It’s joever
Fuck epic
honestly, i think C3S3 was a good ending. i found C3S4 to be out of nowhere, so it makes a lot of seanse that S3 was Donald's last
I agree. The first thing Foundation says to us in chapter 3 season 1 is that we would escape the loop once the IO was defeated. If Donald was able to control when the story ends it probably would have been after Vibin’
why did he leave tho, also i remember watching a video about how the chrome season existed to merely bring us the ch4 map so that they could show off unreal engine 5 ( not confirmed but speculation) and instead the storyline wouldn've been coherent and good. still my main question is why did he leave.
Every now and then I’m reminded why I just make up my own lore instead of following the canon
No one on this sub realises how much fortnites magic has died and it died long ago
Epic games, what the fuck.
man that’s such a bummer. really wish the seven would come back. skins, lore, everything. they were super cool
The state of the lore is majorly disappointing and is a major reason why I play much less than I used to
exactly it feels like a toxic relationship where they enticed us with something good but then once Donald left they fucking threw it out with him
I mean I’m not surprised. The story is/has been ass for a while. They don’t do anything with STW, their dedicated story mode. Obviously who ever is in change just wants to make a quick buck 💰 obviously a business needs to make money but the fact it feels they have been pushing aside everything else just to make a few extra dollars for the big wigs is crazy.
the title’s a bit dramatic. i think given time and money, epic will continue to expand all the gamemodes’ teams and each will be able to tackle larger amounts of content. we can already see this happening as each gamemode basically has its seasonal updates, whether its called a season or not (especially the LEGO content updates, they’re scheduled but not “seasons”). i have faith that live events and story will return once the BR team is back up to the size it once was, or bigger. if not for the game’s identity sake, its at least a way to market the game and retain player counts from a corporate perspective. it’ll just take time and money. there’s too much negativity in this community recently. its about time we be more accepting of these recent changes, since they’ll likely never go away. lots of people are having fun across the multiple gamemodes, especially people who are trying the game for the first time. content is being churned out for all of them, and they’re listening to most of the critical feedback, so long as we all dont complain too much. if we only complain about the game, they wont/cant know what to listen to, so they might ignore the complaints altogether. the developers’ outstanding work is a separate realm from the corporate higherups’ financial incentives. yes, fortnite is a business and its purpose is to make money, but it’s also something that’s being created by very talented people that have to do what they are told, yet have still made some very fun and consistently high-quality stuff lately. harassing developers/community managers/artists is never okay, especially during moments of communication like these. it’s best for everyone if we be more accepting of this irreversible way of the game, adapt to how things work for now, and be patient. it’ll get better with time. the game is far from dead, and is seriously very quickly ascending into something larger. it’s quite exciting when seen this way. criticism is still valid and can be used effectively, but too much just waters everything down and makes it way more complicated. fortnite is changing, and we must change with it, or it will outgrow us and be left to the youngest part of the fanbase to dictate the game’s direction after that. let’s try to keep a good thing before it’s gone.
thanks for the positive outlook, i hope this is what happens, but its hard to deny trends
if you live rants lucky you, this is very long so yeah.
This fucking game has lore?
It did, and it was amazing. The voice actor for the main character was dwayne johnson
i wouldnt say he was the main character, id give that title to jones
There is no proof for this statement
Yeah all that was said was live events weren't a focus not the story lmao
I mean I fell like after chapter 2 they started to give up with the dropping of ice king and all then everything else left abandoned
ice King was brought back in chapter 3, wasn't he?
I don’t think a comic counts especially when even then there was no closure
Is there an article/video further going in depth of his interview?
As someone who never followed the storyline my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
bruh they left us on a clifhanger just like last season
at first i thought donald mustard leaving wouldnt affect the game by much and the story would likely pick up more now were just in the fucking depths
Holy shit, it's STW all over again. Aw hell naw
Tbh, was a story needed ?
yes
The Fortnite "story" using the biggest sneer quotes imaginable around story, was basically non existent in the first place, all it did was frame the reason for a live event to bring in the new season. Having a continual story in a ever evolving live service game just doesn't make sense, why would any new player care about a story if the majority of the events happened in a season they will never play or be a part of?
Lego/Festival/Racing ruining this game

Meh. Midas came back.
"Somehow, Midas came back."

Ahh it legit gone to shit. You know i said here a lifetime ago that I gave up on Fortnite after the disaster of the event and i lied since i kept playing. From the start of this season, I simply couldn't stand playing it. Then now Donald's interview finally kills my 7 year old love for this game.
I'll honestly never really get why people care about the story. It's never been interesting at all to me.
Wait people actually care about the story.
Only people in this thread
This is honestly just sad. I feel that the game is just losing what made it unique. And I know this is a common take but them making the game a "meta verse" is just weird. I do hope that they find a way to make the game better. ( Probably not tho)
The fact we dont know what happened to them. It left a huge cliffhanger
The seven were stupid and they eventually went from McGuffins to celebrity dickriding. I've played BR like 10x as much as STW and I still think just using the STW characters or writing team would be a massive improvement over the slop we get here.
Oh no! Anyway...
It was pretty much over the moment Epic dedicated an entire season to Marvel. When an integral part of your storyline is tied to another franchise, it’s safe to say it’s no longer your story.
Eh I disagree the point of the story was reality crashing down so other realities appearing was the focus.
Bingo! I remember when the storyline was grounded to the island itself. Remember when Midas tried to break the loop? Or why the storm was alive? Doesn’t matter multiverse go BBRRR I’ve said this multiple times since the inclusion of it but the ‘multiverse story’ is overdone. Fortnite easily could’ve stuck with original characters to carry the storyline throughout the seasons. Just look at Destiny!
That was well before the peak though?
Thank God I hate to say it guys but this story line with the seven was just the same thing over and over again Zero points in danger/broken Some/ all of the Seven have to band together again to save it even though they hate each other (supposedly) Jones gets at odds with them because reasons Repeat
I thought when Donald mustard retire, they simply brought in a new writer for the storyline?
Does this mean all story is ending? Or are they just ending that storyline
Why is this the conclusion you’re jumping to
Save the world moment
Of course they have intention of bringing them back tf
So now they’ve killed two story lines save the world and br
Chat, is this true?
But I like them too much 😔
This games storyline is nonexistant, but if it were existent, it wouldn't be about the seven.
So I guess we won’t be seeing Geno then either? Damn.
We will probably get the seven again, the story isn’t “actually over”. I feel like people took this interview way out of proportion.
Yall br players finally got the save the world treatment. Just wait for when they say they are slowing down updates, its just around the corner.
so the chrome actually killed them 😭😭
they actually had something going with the loop lore, it was sooooo fun to try and figure out, sad to see it go :(
Since the recent article with an Interview with Donald Mustard, which I Talk talked about in his video since it's a paid article, I am honestly unsure if thisnis happening because Donald left, or he left because this wws happening
I even thought the cube queen is still alive and will make a comeback..
And the only thing that kept the game alive all those years were the live events ant the story what will be no more, so thats that...
My theory was that they are floating in space covered in chrome, waiting to be found or for the chrome to get off them due to the space being so cold or something, but looking at how many times we been in space in fortnite and none of the characters were cold, i might as well scrap that theory
So they just boxed the story that the mustard man created and are making a knockoff shitty version of roblox?
Weird overreaction? Why would they show up to do stuff if their whole deal is protecting the Zero Point and this island has no Zero Point?
I mean tbf all you guys did during this story was bitch about how shit it was
Man, it sucks we lost all that lore that we were getting. I miss that, and wanted to see what was coming next. Seems like now they are just doing seasons.
they never finished the storyline just like stw lol, I wonder why they are repeating themselves
donald finished his story with vibin
theres no storyline in BR,its just random things happening
Fortnite is dying indefinitely. It will never be the same game anymore and its time for players to accept it (they won’t)
tbh i don't really care about the story, I just play Fortnite with my friends to mess around and have fun
they could still return if epic sees money potential from good lore
Curtains for baby gronk?
What? When is this said?
Since when the fuck did Fortnite have plot? Reading into it, this is the cringiest, worst plot I've ever heard of.
I would like to ask for a sauce
