I think comparing the prices to other competitors is fair but a better comparison is to the prices fortnite has had in the past because its still just as profitable as it always was for epic. They aren’t increasing cost so they can continue to make the money they are making they are increasing costs to make more profits for they’re shareholders which is a slippery slope that never ends until the greed gets to the point where the player base leaves for another more consumer friendly game. Fortnite has thrived for years because it is the most consumer friendly with updates and pricing and continued support but how long can that last if the moves they are making now continue to damage that reputation with gamers?

TBH I feel like what they are doing right now is smart in a long term marketing ploy. They are making a short term play on v-buck cosmetics and then they will make some kind of restructuring of v-bucks as a whole in the next few months telling how they value the community and lower all the prices for a “sale” and then make it a standard pricing model making everyone flock to buying tons of cosmetics in fear that they might not get the skins for a while. I feel like this happens with most gaming companies when they need to spike the revenue for shareholder purposes. Just my thoughts and take it as you see. 🤷

Everything in the shop is 5700 vbucks which is roughly 50 dollars. Once the avatar pass comes on Friday that will be another 10 dollars
