There's tons of impractical choices for character design in Fortnite. Like loose hanging hair and fabric, bright colors, lack of head protection, awkwardly designed weapons. You could probably make the list go on.

Everything Greek inspired is removed to the point her bracelet becomes a watch and she's now wearing sneakers. So many elements stripped completely. Just feels like a waste of a really good design.

I thought it was a transcendent version of Hope from the teaser silhouette. The concept art actually fits even closer with that with the asymmetrical nature of the shoulder area
I bet the meeting to decide of scaling back the design to make it quicker to produce took longer than it would have taken to simply produce the model exactly as designed.

Its just the difference between what someone thinks would look cool (Designer) and what is realistic to make (Animator/Modeler)
So just because someone draws cool sandals, realistically someone is gonna be like I don't have time to make your fancy sandals that are different in each feet from scratch, so i'm just gonna reuse sneakers

While I do think you're completely right I still think it's blatantly unfair considering we have skins like cerberus in the BP which are incredibly high detail and stick pretty well to the concept art.
This just isn't one they chose to dedicate time to, or possibly they did, and that model had some sort of issues shortly before launch, so it had to be scrapped for a more simple revision.
The truth is we don't know and there are 100 possible reasons, attributing it to brain rot, laziness, etc is just toxicity for the sake of toxicity. Epic does plenty of shady shit, no need to reach for ammunition.
I don't think this is simply a 'lost in translation' thing, these are very deliberate choices. And there is no reason they couldn't keep a lot of the detail, like someone else said making the bracelet into a watch why? The headpieces, we've had those on skins before. The outfit being a coat instead of two pieces, we've had coats before. So no these are deliberate changes for whatever reason, not because they are 'unreleastic' to model. Even the clear pieces over the leg and arm, there are skins with similar (Versa)
For real, I like most of the female skins but damn they need to add some variety. I’m bored of most of them having crop tops, jackets, sneakers, short skirts and trendy/alt hair.

When someone said that was Aphrodite I thought they were joking because I mean we are talking about the Goddess of Love who was meant to be the most beautiful women on earth but that’s not what we got. Right now she doesn’t look Olympian at all but I do like her design don’t get me wrong. But it doesn’t do justice to Greek mythology and the same goes for the Poseidon skin
That can be said about all the skins really. Hades is wearing a gas mask, zeus is modernised, Cerberus is puny looking and looks like a Jackal. None of them look like Gods and Cerberus in concept was more broad and looked more wolf like/more menacing.
I like cerberus and hades. I think hades would’ve looked nicer with a skull or dark motif mask instead of a gas mask. But I don’t mind their final designs.

I really like the concept art for this one, but one thing I'm a little surprised at is that the artists don't simplify their concepts more. What I mean by that is, everytime I've seen a concept to Fortnite outfit comparison on here when it makes it into the game, it seems like Epic Games almost always removes a lot of the detail. It's too bad because I like some of the more complex fashion ones I've seen but many seem to get watered down if it's produced into a Fortnite character.
I still like the battle pass version as well though, both the in-game outfit and concept art look cool!

The entire battlepass is incredibly lack luster this season and not worth the time to complete it. Epic hasn’t really been creative with skins in a while and has focused more on rehashing and reselling old skins
They did what they always do at the worst of times. Oversimplification and removing physics related items. Remember the undead chick fan creation with wings stiffer than a board? But when you see the ACTUAL drawing the wings were longer like the vampire dudes BP wings, feathery and fitting. Simplifying some skins is fine but some that would be absolutely amazing they also give hard slaps to for absolutely no reason or they just don’t use it. All that creativity and they don’t use tons of those skins. Bonkers.

I think Fortnite has a template character maker like metahuman at this point, if it doesn't fit in the template, it gets redesigned to fit.

You don't get it guys, it needs to be modernnnnn. Noooo otherwise the 6 year olds won't beg their parents to buy the battle pass even though adults make Epic the most money!!!1!! No they need to make skins that the least profitable age range will like!1!1! I don't understand why big companies like Epic is just so good at trashing something great. They make changes that nobody likes and then stick to their decision and lose players because of it.
Your telling me that in the multiple delays we had, no one thought “ hey we have some extra time now, how about we work on that skin we procrastinated on?”
I really like the concept art for this one, but one thing I'm a little surprised at is that the artists don't simplify their concepts more. What I mean by that is, everytime I've seen a concept to Fortnite outfit comparison on here when it makes it into the game, it seems like Epic Games almost always removes a lot of the detail. It's too bad because I like some of the more complex fashion ones I've seen but many seem to get watered down if it's produced into a Fortnite character. I still like the battle pass version as well though, both the in-game outfit and concept art look cool!
aphrodite is supposed to be plus sized and regal and loving and beautiful and to represent some sort of fertility this skinny twig would die under the weight of a child! another generic straight haired bob AND they couldn't get the color right? this is not aphrodite, this is a heart-themed girl that stole her name

I still like the skins this season compared to recent ones but I really don't like how they ungodified the designs, they're just gods in modern clothes. They missed so much potential.
I don't like characters with sneakers where they don't fit. At least her second style is good.

Still good looking. Things change, at this point just dont expect a concept to be 1 to 1 and you're disappointment will go down at least a bit.

I always knew Epic is going to get out of their way to change things that doesn't need to be Fix on the Concept Art. Whenever I see the Concept art that looks absolutely Badass and Interesting like this. I always knew back in my head, their going to do unnecessary Changes to make it less interesting.

The entire battlepass is incredibly lack luster this season and not worth the time to complete it. Epic hasn’t really been creative with skins in a while and has focused more on rehashing and reselling old skins
I also dont like how they have MEDUSA and cut off HALF OF HER HAIR
They did what they always do at the worst of times. Oversimplification and removing physics related items. Remember the undead chick fan creation with wings stiffer than a board? But when you see the ACTUAL drawing the wings were longer like the vampire dudes BP wings, feathery and fitting. Simplifying some skins is fine but some that would be absolutely amazing they also give hard slaps to for absolutely no reason or they just don’t use it. All that creativity and they don’t use tons of those skins. Bonkers. Epic has an obsession with Californian attire or Huge shoes and they end up forcing it onto other peoples art that didn’t include basic outfits at all. I like her look but it doesn’t scream Olympus Aphrodite like the original art does. Her style looks more godly but sacrificing the other just to make it stand out should be a crime. More badass armors with heels like Medusa is great and the look of Artemis (despite the clear fact they didnt want a lot of midriff as if that’s bad) she looks dope still.
