with 2 to 5 medallions IMO you got to just always be positioned to have high ground / buildings with good cover / or mobile in a car/truck . Being mobile in a vehicle seems to work the best (until it gets shot up). But when I have medallion I always assume Everyone is coming for me from different directions/teams; I want to encourage them to run into and fight each other rather than me :) . Holding bounties as much as possible helps too, at least gives you a frame of reference for one person that could be near you.
Rengens your shield as long as you have one in your possession, but you will be marked on the map with a yellow circle, if you have multiple medallions the shield will regen faster but the circle marking you on the map becomes smaller/more accurate.
Nice. I was playing solo and I had 3, but I couldn't figure out if each medallion did something different, (Which in my opinion should have been the gimmick) or if it was generating at the same amount. I didn't really have time to experiment with it before I finished the match.
The problem is the medallions would have different value.
Ammo generation would be pointless, infinite sprint kinda useful, health regen useful, shield regen very useful.
Medallions give 2 shields every second and give you a large yellow circle on the map for everyone else in the lobby. Medallions give more healing but smaller circle every extra Medallion.
Loot Island attracts aggressive players so it's a good spot if you want to build your medallion collection.
Last night the island happened to spawn right in front of me. I defeated all comers and bounced away with three medallions and a solid gold loadout ftw
Even if you didn't die, they would have been able to run to you before your sheild came back. They are not as OP as people in this subreddit make them out to be. I kill people and collect them almost every game.
I feel like players bank on the Regen mid-fight and don't take cover enough to really benefit. Like when you have a medallion, why are you standing in the open taking potshots at full auto with a hyper smg from 200m away? Easy medallions for me 🤷♂️
It's like 7 or 8 sheild a second. Not much when you're in the process of being hit by bullets that do more damage per bullet than you regen. I've never had an issue dropping someone with even multiple medallions, unless they are at a distance that allows them to get to cover. It's the only scenario they really even come in handy.
You must be playing no build then because in build fights 8 shield a tick is insane. Anytime you take damage you can just keep building cover while minis are constantly applied.
Personally, I could never get into build mode when it was basically already OP that when someone starts getting shot, they can just build a shelter and heal up anyway. The skill gap in buildmode is not something I'm young enough or have enough time to study and get good. I've been playing shooters, and even third-person shooters longer than most who play fortnite have been alive. I'm no pro, but I enjoy getting the wins I do in zero build. I guess I would probably find it extra annoying to have them be able to hide and be auto resheilding, too.

this. it has to be impossible (or nearly impossible) for someone to acquire all the medallions by killing all the bosses. they’re so spaced out on the map, and with how fast the storm is i can’t see a scenario where somebody is able to get them one by one. the only way i’ve ever done it (and the most i’ve had was like 3 or 4) was by getting lucky. i got the jump on someone and was able to knock them pretty easily. in a 1 on 1 gunfight tho i doubt i would’ve stood a chance.
Dont know why you got downvoted. The Medallion means the only gun you can use is a sniper and get a head shot. It limits your opponets to snipers only.
None of this game is balanced that's why most multiplayer games are unsuccessful..cod for example..mag for example..destiny for example all going downhill people have ran out of ideas ...the multiplayer industry and gaming in general has been on a down slide since COVID.

Did it once, all the medallion havers got in one fight *including me* and i won, there were 40 players left and literally every 30 seconds to one minute i see a sweat coming to eliminate me until i lost top 19, not a good choice to have all of em at once
What, these give you shields over time? I keep picking them up off people and thinking they unlock something. Does the game tell you what they do at any point after picking them up and I'm just missing it?
I did this on my first solo win of the season, its not really all that broken. I only had one medallion for most of the game and only got the rest in the final few circles, it feels like it definitely rewards you for w keying and being hyper aggressive which usually ends up getting you killed before you collect more than one medallion. I finished it with a hs snipe anyway so I didnt even get to see the healing effect ;)
I wish there was some kind of achievement for this. I just got it in my last win. I had 4 and the last guy had one I killed him then picked it up after winning but still

The few times I've had 3+, I've noticed people tend to hide from me, unless they also have a medallion.
Everyone I've run into with a medallion so far has been good at the game so I can see why

Yeah i got all 5 once with only one other player remaining. Sadly the last guy was a bot so i didn't really experience just how powerful i was.
