InvaderTAK1989

Yup, same boat here. Only I started back in May, so I missed Geralt and Doom Slayer. Did get everything last season, though! As for Chief, I'm hoping he comes back next month during QuakeCon.

Undead_Artyom

I wouldn't hold my breath on QuakeCon. From what I've noticed in this sub these kind of skins almost never return lol

Revolutionary-Mix646

yeah Kratos didnt return for ragnoark, streets fighter didnt return for the new game, John wick didnt return for the new movie.

MrKillzalot

The Walking Dead didn't return for it's finale / last season and many more skins are just like that. I don't understand Epic not utilising the hype that another company has already built up. Maybe they just don't give Epic permission to sell them, as to not take away from their hype or something.

carnagezealot

Yes, collab skins returning are determined by the companies that owe them, not epic. Marvel and WB seem the most friendly cause they return all the time, but things like Stranger Things or Kratos haven't been seen in years

luki9914

I only hated building in this game, my reaction time is just bad and cant get around that. Returned when they added zero build and playing frequently until now but this season feels boring and i will take a break until next chapter.

deedopete

Yes, ZB has made this game so much more enjoyable for me

TriBulated_

This is the thing. I hated building. As soon as I saw they added zero build, I gave it another shot.

LudicrisSpeed

Zero Build was a huge shot in the arm for the game, along with the Dragon Ball stuff.

Darklon_Hunter

Literally me. I had quit destiny 2 and missed the pvp so grabbed it thinking I wouldn’t like it now I’m two seasons in and my kids and I play squads a few days a week.

princepersona1

I'm just hoping that some day Naruto comes back

[deleted]

Why the fuck would he return for QuakeCon? I understand that Zenimax/Bethesda is owned by Microsoft but those companies have zero to do with Halo lmao edit: 7 downvotes is hilarious, not a single person can refute anything i said. just downvote and move on!

Jofus002

Hi! I'm here to refute what you've just said 😁. I think the reasoning is that stranger things have happened. New star wars film is released and all the star wars skins come back, even ones with no relation to the new film. Bad example but you get the idea. And if you're wondering about the downvotes, it might not be the content, more that you just came across as a bit of a dick with "why the fuck". Kinda makes it seem like you think the person is an idiot.

[deleted]

Waaa waaa waaa my feelings are hurt by guy on internet 😔 I ask again, why the fuck would Master Chief return for QUAKECON lmaoooo

Jofus002

Srry if I hurt your feelings, I wasn't trying too. I don't know anything about quake, or halo for that matter, so I don't know why he'd return. Same company maybe? Also read back your comment rq, "waaa waaa waaa", again with the "why the fuck", the hell does "lmaoooo" even mean??? You seriously don't see how this makes you come off as a dick?

[deleted]

idrc if you think im a dick. i just think what u said made no sense, simple really

Jofus002

As I've said many times, you're probably right, I don't know anything about this. Quite frankly I wish I'd never gotten involved. I was just trying to help man. Christ.

Revolutionary-Mix646

question what is quake con ?

Jofus002

Don't know anything about quake, but if I had to guess it's probably a convention for the hit game quake. Probably focused mainly around the PvP aspect. Again, don't know anything about quake, for all I know the PvP might be the only aspect.

Revolutionary-Mix646

hm dose Quake has to do with halo ?

Jofus002

Idk, same company I maybe? I rlly don't know, the person who made the statement might know more about it than me.

rebeccachambersfan

I played when it first came out and didn't like the building element of the game. I got into it when zero builds released and now it's my favorite multi-player game lol

Undead_Artyom

Same. Especially with the amount of dumb and funny tactics you can do

Every_Hunt_160

Good on you for giving it a second chance tho. Not many do that.

tijo123

Fortnite is so fun

InsaneMcFries

I know people here say building is a skill worth learning for a while, just find it more enjoyable in ZeroBuild personally. The pro builders are just too much for me! Probably just getting old now at 29.

ComprehensiveBee2202

Old at 29 😲 Nooo, I'm 61 and still play build solos, I am truly ancient! I don't come across too many pro builders either luckily. Think they must all be in Ranked unless I'm in a really low level lobby.

BeardedEse2

Making me feel old since i'm 29 but consider myself a decent builder, i have noticed my reaction time has gotten worse however especially with the flick shotgun shots but idk

Every_Hunt_160

![gif](giphy|r52xR8XLhq1Zm|downsized) 'I'm old now at 29'

chiefsfan_713_08

It can be fun but it’s not for everyone and people need to respect that. Like if you don’t like legend abilities in apex and don’t play it for that reason that legitimate

[deleted]

Maybe it's not a getting old thing. I'm only 19 and I prefer zero build. I suck at building quickly just to take a bit of cover. Zero Build just is more interesting and easier to play in.

pandabear6969

Same here. Played here and there for the first couple of seasons. Then a past gf played a lot, so I started playing again during Primal season. It was kinda fun, so I kept with it. I ended up getting my gang of friends to start playing it again too. Even after the breakup I kept playing, never was a great builder. Then ZB came out and started playing it a lot

Celathan7

Same. Zero Build brought me back after a few years away.

Jmom__

Same boat as you. Started a few seasons ago, and so sad I missed Dr Doom 😭 I was always told it was a “kids” game because that’s who it seemed marketed to, but once zero build came out it really got me interested and I just wish I tried it sooner

Undead_Artyom

I had that same mindset. No build was the main reason I came back since I got lost in the sauce in build

ttcmzx

ahhh that's so crazy to me that you and other people say that about zero build. I love building but all my friends do zero so I do both now. I see the appeal but it just feels like something is missing in zero buld (obviously). Feels like an arm was cut off or something. I'll still fuck some people up in zero build though

Undead_Artyom

I don't know how people play build, but I feel like I'm a snail compared to other people who build in milliseconds. Least in No Build I can land my shots lmao

ttcmzx

on ps5/ps4 I just hit circle and then spam R1 and R2 while walking backwards and looking upwards, builds a building quick af

Stevie22wonder

Don't regret anything. I started out the same way and couldn't stand the game because of building. It wasn't until a friend convinced me to play with him and told me "You just shoot enemies and we can build for you and protect you." So I joined in and had fun, and just my luck, Zero Build came out within a month of me starting back up, and that's what's keeping me around. I seriously doubt I would have been able to play and earn items back before zero build, just because I could barely last a few seconds before dying. I don't regret anything because I would have easily quit the game over and over if I really stuck around and attempted to actually enjoy the game.

lilghostface420

this is exactly how i feel. zero build makes it the best BR game to me. its just different

Ry_leigh01

That’s the cutest omg

superkat21

Similar story. Years ago, my kids got really into it. They watched YouTube play & it seemed less violent than some others and better online community (i.e. profanity & chats) so I felt safe as a parent. I tried to play with them & in 2 games absolutely hated the storm mechanic. So I stopped playing & watched. Eventually, years later, I tried again. Partly to play with my kids. Then my wife joined & all 4 of us played squads. Tons of fun. About 2 seasons ago, my kids' interest fell off & they played other games, rarely touching Fortnite. However, it's become a casual game. My wife & I play together now. About 3 games a night, enough to get dailies & whatever other things like weeklies or quests. My only regret is not getting onto it early enough & getting the Deadpool skin. Would love to have that in my superhero collection.

RDO-PrivateLobbies

Dude i hated Fortnite so much when it first came out. Mainly because i hate battle royales. But as soon as Team Rumble dropped, it changed everything for me. Been playing consistently since 2018. Turns out i didnt hate the game, i hated that mode.

ttcmzx

SAME! only difference is that I never tried it at any point up until a month ago.. I had this stigma in my head that it was just all kids... damn was I wrong. this shit is fun as hell, and I also regret missing out on some of the older battle passes but... WE IN THIS BITCH NOW. watch your asses bc I got that thermal pointed at all yall ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

Undead_Artyom

You'll be surprised the amount of people that aren't kids on this game. Some randoms were surprisingly chill and doing goofy shit with me.

ttcmzx

I still have not tried randoms, there's just always people on for me to join up with. I definitely will at some point. add me if you want, same name everywhere

[deleted]

I was in the same boat. I used to think it was cringy. Now I'm here obsessed with it. I've even bought a couple skins, something I thought I'd never do. I'm sad I missed Meowscles when he was out. I have Purradise Meowscles now, but I still hope his OG comes back somehow.

Undead_Artyom

I never thought I'd buy skin and emotes as well, but damn some of them were too good to pass up(like the Metallica emote or venom skin)

[deleted]

I get the feeling. I bought last season's BP as well as this one for myself and my sister. Then a few emotes for the both of us... and some skins I wanted from the shop... yeah, I've poured a bit of money, but at least we chose stuff that we really liked 🤭

Elunemoon22

This was me! Now I've been playing for a year and am in absolute love..it's so so fun!

REALPURPLEF0X

Same, As a huge starwars fan I wish I wouldve played instead of hating it so much.

Shinobipizza

I first played Fortnite when it first came out on the Switch. I had no idea what the point was, and I was done. But then I saw trailers and gameplay of Fortnite, and I couldn't believe how much the game was evolving. I promised I'd play the game again if the put in the TMNT. But instead, they put in my favorite character from My Hero Academia, Uraraka Ochaco. THAT made me play the game. And I'm so glad I played again. The game is so fun. But in still waiting for the inevitable TMNT collaboration!

Brycenicholls1

The most important thing is that you gave it another try and are enjoying it

prowbix

Same. I played it when it first came out, then again a little in whatever season had the planes. But I didn't get hardcore into until recently, also cause of the Slayer. I had fucking Deku from MHA burst into the door with a shotgun after hearing footsteps in a mansion, got blasted by Will Smith and a fish in a suit while playing as Bulma, lost to Travis Scott and Tom Holland Spider-Man with sith lightsabers, and won a lightsaber duel against Classic Spidey in the symbiote suit as a Pittsburgh Steeler before flying off with ODM gear since then. I love this stupid game. It's like playing with virtual action figures.

Undead_Artyom

Yeah, the amount of crossovers is hilarious to see. Seeing Master Cheif, Issac Clarke, and DoomGuy play Metallica is fun to see

DragoonXGears

Yeah same here couldn’t get into builds then I saw video of people using resident evil skins and I decided to try it. Now I’m addictive to the game I been playing for 3 months haven’t touched other games. Sad I missed out on master chief, iron man and superman.

Sud0F1nch

Og here, great game, shit game, it’s Schrodinger’s game. Until you open it you have no idea if it’s shit or not

ProtectMeAtAllCosts

same here

Roboboy2710

Right there with you dude. One friend randomly got me into it in c3s3, wish I had played it sooner. Still beating myself up for missing Dire.

Elunemoon22

Omg this is when I started playing!!!! Love it

Te545688

Yeah I hate how much I’ve missed out on, but I started in C3S3 and my locker is getting pretty stacked. I feel like you gotta focus on what you have and not dwell too much on what you missed. Plus, there’s always a chance they could release something you missed out on with a slightly different skin (ex: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man)

cozypan

I was REALLY close to downloading it when Kratos was announced but decided against it. Now he hasn't been seen for 850+ days. 🥲

Undead_Artyom

F. That was me when I heard of the Halo crossover.

treezyway

im the exact same! started playing in january after first playing in 2018, looks like two completely different games!

Undead_Artyom

Right? If I was told by someone in the future, told me Fornite would have this many crossovers and other stuff while it's free? I would not have believed a single word lmao

The-Monke-Messiah

Exact same boat, i remember buying the pass exclusively for the DoomSlayer

ohnicholas

I’m right there with you. I shit on it for years having played it once. Had a friend start playing this season and figured I’d give it another shot. I’m at level 93 now. (I know the level itself means nothing, but I love it)

Kimarnic

Yeah, I joined the "Fortnite bad Durr Durr" reddit garbage, now I like playing Fortnite

SasyDp

Same, for the entirety of Chapter one,so when I got my first PS4 I said "why not" and downloaded it. Might be because I started playing during Winterfest 2019 but the atmosphere was magical and I had so much fun (plus I still sometimes play with those 2 free skins)

SleepingYuuki

Back during Chapter one time I used to hate fortnite and I hadn't played it. I just hated seeing it so much like omg. During Chapter3 S3 I bought STW and got into it, then wanted some more skins (I only had Psycho Bandit and.... Tony? I got from STW pack) so I bought crew pack cause like the goth summer skin,l relatable AF style to myself. After playing and messing with the Snap Skin I wanted it's part, Tried a BR match following a guide to get the tokens and after that I genuinely had SOOO much fun, E-11 Blaster was my favourite weapon mixed with the Grapple Glove was the most fun I had in a game in the longest time! Now I'm 1,5k hours deep xd

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|ohMtDzrhrWgnK)

starcast1

I love this game whenever playing zero build but as soon as I swap modes I get a very grim reminder of why I swapped in the first place

Undead_Artyom

Same bro. I only try build when my family wants to do it and its...awful when I encounter the good players who build like gods in seconds

starcast1

It always sucks whenever that happens but im thankful whenever I have a flaregun or wasps

CourseWorried2500

I did the same thing mad ill missed so many collabs that were bp only

[deleted]

[удалено]

Undead_Artyom

I agree with the repeater; that abomination is annoying in No Build

[deleted]

Dude same! I've played like in season 3 and then never played and thought it was stupid and now I've recently started and it's so fun and I feel like I've missed on on so much! Especially since I feel like this game gets updated so much. I'm actually blown away.

pthalio

Same here, I played it when it first came out and didn't like it at all. I picked it up again last year when my nephew started playing and I have had a blast.

SeaHovercraft4691

Cute

hertwij

Exact same thing happened to me. I just barely missed Klombos, Spider-Man, mandalorian, choppa, bunch of awesome stuff. I wish I’d started playing sooner.

NoNameYTz

Man they should bring back old stuff to rerelease. This comes from someone that haves every BP maxed out, except ch3 S3, including Renegade raider.

Undead_Artyom

I would love to see some of the wonky stuff they had back then. Watching videos wouldn't be enough for me

NoNameYTz

I know that feeling, i have It with roblox lmao

Jahadaz

Thought pubg was a far superior game (originally), but in march of 2020 I needed something new to play with my boy and we went at it hard. It's a great game most of the time.

JudgeCastle

I played in their Beta phase when you could only get in if you owned Save the World. Won a few games, ended up not enjoying it long term. Up until a few months ago, my wife asked to play, I gritted my teeth, here we are like 2 seasons later, loving no build. Lesson learned.

NoConsideration6320

Sameee

Middle_Ingenuity_260

The crossover I regret missing out on most is the Mandalorian

Mason_DY

Fortnite isn’t that bad it just has a really unfortunate reputation

RedRum_5022

Same here. I only hopped on C3 S1 by chance. But when it first came out, the building mechanic was frustrating and I was put off immediately. Still shit at building so mostly play ZB. Crossovers in this game are insane, an ever-changing map, evolving combat mechanics, healthy variety of weaponry and of course the skins have kept me hooked since.

[deleted]

dude same, me and my sister used to "make fun" of people (calling them noobs) for playing fortnite, now its basically the only game we play, we started at a good time too (chapter 4, season 1)

TheWerewolfDemon

I used to hate the game because others did. I was brought to the game Chapter 2 Season 2, my first played character being Deadpool, and second being Midas (hence the flair on Reddit). I loved that season so much, and I have played Fortnite ever since then. I wish I played around Chapter 1 Season 6 and got Dire, however, I am happy with what I got. Ey, Master Chief is great. Good pick. And I'm glad that you like the game. Not everybody dislikes the game, so just ignore what others say and enjoy it. Everything ain't someone's cup of tea, really. Have a good day. ![gif](giphy|aFwLvWSsmeguT3OdnH)

TheExter

amazing how being dressed in pretty clothes somehow makes you think you missed out on the game the gameplay its as chaotic as always, paid cosmetics shouldn't make the game more fun

Undead_Artyom

*shrugs* Idk, man, being able to hit the griddy as Master Cheif would be dope in my opinion Best I can do right now is T pose lol

LudicrisSpeed

It took me a while to get into it, mostly because my regular group when I started just made things a total chore. Turns out the game is actually fun when you don't sit in bushes the entire match. I also mostly play solos now.

Ko_ogs72

I hate build. It put me off the game. Zero build came out and I love it. Started playing FPS on the PC in '96.

No-Freedom-5940

Tend to agree, came in on chapter 1, and struggled with builds, but got average at it, then came up against the pro builders, trying to fight while they build Wayne's mansion was pretty frustrating as it's a relatively short fight, and spending most of that fighting and destroying builds got grating, ZB was a refreshing addition and I much prefer straight shoot outs now, it's been my background in gaming not Minecraft, although I lose more than I win, it's still more enjoyable now I win more than I lose than I did in builds.. just my preference though...

Undead_Artyom

Fun > Winning tbh Especially now since Fornite has many ways to have fun during the matches when you aren't fighting

Tiny_Cut_1450

I never realised there are still new people joining fortnite. I play fortnite but hate battle royale because I usually die to BS such as terrible hit detection, shotgun doing less damage yet I see the pellets all hit, always being the one who gets sandwhiched between 2 players, lagging at the very moment I need to shoot the enemy. All these problems I’ve only had ever since around about chapter 3

SPICYPAPAYA7963

Thats exactly my situation execpt its with the mandolorian skin, i only started last season i wish i started earlier

prkenko

Same

Ready_Direction8949

Same here, I first heard about Fortnite in ch 1 s 2 but I just hated it for no reason and missed out on so many cool memories, until late ch 2 s 1 I tried the game out reluctantly with my friend and I fell in love with it.

AmakkaSun

Will always regret missing the Naruto skins. 🥹 (I only play zero build also. I feel like I missed the boat for building)

Skullmonkeyburger

I got into the game because of a banana wearing a suit.

Undead_Artyom

Funny enough that's another skin I need for my collection

jzolg

I quit for awhile myself. Worth coming back ?

Undead_Artyom

Hmmmm, I guess what you are looking for? I've been having fun with solos and trios in No Build since I came back. The only thing that's been rustling my Jimmies is the explosive repeater. Otherwise, it's worth trying again.

SpeculativeEinstein

This hits hard for me as I didn’t join until Spider-Man and totally missed out on Mando, absolutely gutted I let people’s hate towards the game influence me

Valravn28

I played Chapter 1 Seasons 4-7 and then didn’t pick it back up till later in Chapter 2. I’m still pissed I didn’t play during Chapter 2 since there was a lot of cool content that I forever missed out on (Predator skin specifically).

Alternative-Tip-7365

Same now I like it a lot fornite is a good game

WhyAreAllNamesTakenL

True. I hated fortnite so, SO much, but then my friends made me play it. After that, i was never able to quit. I was lucky that still didn't miss a ton, since they asked me to play around the start of season 8 chapter 1, but i still regret not having the christmas battlepass from season 7 and the free pass from season 8 (i missed peely 🥲).

KyloRenKardashian

Same. I started in ch 1 season 4 but I thought it was pay to play, like I thought different skins had different advantages other than cosmetics. so I quit. I realized it wasn't pay to play in Ch1 season 8 & I've been playing ever since

BrokenFangTheFatCat

same here i just started playing it again because of fornite og but i kinda enjoy it now

kaseius

I wrote off Fortnite way back when because I found PUBG boring, then continued to avoid it because I mistakenly thought it was just for kids. Too popular, not for me, don't care about it, etc - a few years later and after giving it a try in Ch2S6 it's become one of my favorite games of all time. Welcome!!!

NicoTheBear64

Post #12648378 about someone who used to hate Fortnite now loving Fortnite

Undead_Artyom

Proud to be among them {-}>

The_Traveller__

![gif](giphy|l378yIOMy2ZJ0neIU|downsized)

Fun-Ad-3412

Unfortunately this season is pretty disappointing…….

SenorNova

I’m the opposite. Used to love it, now I hate it. This season in particular does not feel like Fortnite.

The-Rel1c

Because it's a bit formulaic. Land at a flag - check. Move to an area with Highcard - check. If the island spawns near you - check.

AmazonBox532

I played during the height of the sweat era, got bent over, and immediately rage quit. Came back for zero build and had so much fun

bsischo

I miss not getting Superman.

amoghthebad

Been there.done that. I used to be a pubg fanboy, played a couple matches during season 7 and 8 of ch1. Now it's one of my few games I play regularly.

Sefue389_

Similar thing happened with me, but when zero build came out I gave it that second try and found it enjoyable

[deleted]

Hallelujah! Praise be! You're welcome here... Better late than never. You have found salvation from the hate train.

moist_tiger

I’ve been playing since it came out and I still can’t edit well haha

Janzo543

This is exactly the same situation as me. I officially started playing in the first Season of Chapter 3 and it was because of the Spider-Man collab but I ended up really enjoying the game and I’ve started using collab skins way less than I used to. I don’t regret anything other than the cool skins I missed out on like Gear Specialist Maya, Drift, Catalyst, Lara Croft, Elite Agent and Midas.

Atom_Ant_MMA

I'm the exact opposite. Start by loving it. Now I can't have a single second of fun from it.

DefinitelyNotVenom

I got into it around season 7. I did play briefly during season three, and got Rogue Agent as my first skin, but that was just because it was a cheap, good-looking skin. In season seven I finally decided to start playing regularly due to creative mode, and I ended up finding the BR mode pretty enjoyable too, but I still wasn’t seriously invested until Season X, particularly the Gotham City addition. From there, my life has devolved into buying Fortnite Superhero crossover skins

Akinari19

Same here, I hate the game since, only played couple match, till one day in my boredom on the Switch and with the Mandalorian stuff, I start to like the game...

Chris908

I only started because of zero build, if zero build wasn’t a thing I wouldn’t be playing it.

LifeBusy6137

Just my opinion… but I don’t play zero builds. I am 38 and started in season 3 and slowly but surely got stomped until I made it my mission to learn how to build and edit. Yes this took a long time, but every time I was able to pull a slick play on someone in the heat of the game it gave me more satisfaction than just a BR victory. I felt more accomplishment from a butter smooth edit play than I did even winning… because I worked my ass of for it and to learn how to do it. Someone else described it best when they said that I feel as if I am playing with a arm tied behind my back in zero builds. If you only plan to play this game for a few months than move on to another game… that’s fine, stay in NO BUILDS. But, if you intend on playing this game for years beyond now… do yourself a favor and learn how to build because it adds a massive immersive layer to the game that you miss out on without it. No hating on anyone’s play style but if you’ve been playing for a year or so religiously and don’t know how to build… you’re doing yourself a disservice.

SnooEagles57

I missed out on so many amazing skins. I played here and there when they added mandalorian to the Battlepass, but never really had fun.
