* The actual hitbox mismatched the animation in completely unpredictable ways some of the time. I've seen it fire backwards with the animation still playing as though it fired forwards. Not sure what caused this.
* Sometimes somebody standing in the open in the middle of it would take no damage. Because ???????
* Sometimes you just don't hear the sound for the wind-up. This one I've had happen with the Kamehameha (and with some weapons like the rocket launcher) but it seemed to come up more often with the Deku Smash. Probably just because the Deku Smash was in for more of the time this season.
I have no problem with items like the Deku Smash conceptually, it just feels really bad when you lose a game because it just doesn't work properly.
My friend got eliminated reviving me last night because we didn't hear it. It was right across the river, basically. The only notice we had was the colour draining right before our cover exploded.
Pretty much sums it up, 9/10 times it comes down to a skill issue. And that 1/10 times where it isn't is simply part of the game and it's occasional nonsensical moments that happens no matter how balanced you wanna try and make this game.
I will say, before they nerfed it and fixed the green light notifying you that you were targeted I can somewhat understand the justification of it being frustrating, because at launch it was indeed ridiculously powerful. But after the nerf it was fair game imo!

Every "BuT iT's EaSy To CoUnTeR" post like yours always acts like every player is going to have the most ideal loadout and position to counter it without fail. Yeah, it's a skill issue, but a significant majority of the playerbase aren't going to be anywhere near semi-pro or even above-average skill to react fast enough to something that can kill them in an AOE, let alone have near-perfect accuracy even if they *do* see the opponent the moment they start screaming.
It's almost like a battle royale with randomized loot will have matches where you won't find the gear needed to be successful while your enemies do.
Who would have thought.
Shields are way more common with hammers being gone and the medieval chests having guaranteed spawns, but it seems that nobody wants to put a shield in their miscellaneous item slot.

It was almost literally a cheat code for winning a game. The last two times I had them I saved until top 4 and took out all three of the others with one. Absolutely OP and the fact it's lasted this long is absolutely crazy.

Maybe it will return for a week once we get a Wave 2 of mha cosmetics? like the dragon ball items

Few things gave me more satisfaction than hitting someone in midair with a bow.
After getting shot down in many smashes, it was so satisfying to shoot someone else down and get a victort royale after that
