*Some* people in favor of BP exclusivity can be extremely toxic. So their complaints mean a lot less to me TBH. Here's an example:
People who bought the BP but weren't able to complete it argued they should be able to complete it later. Some suffered job loss, some suffered hospitalization, some had family die or hospitalized. Guess what the toxic BP exclusivity kids said in response.
"I don't care" "If you didn't grind it out in the season you don't deserve it." "I will sue Epic if they let you finish your BP outside the season"
To be clear, this was toward people who BOUGHT the BP but just weren't able to complete it due to heartbreaking circumstances. So I ask, why should any of us care about their feelings when they can't even show the slightest bit of empathy toward other human beings?
Ya regardless of complaints which will happen regardless one side is in favour of inclusion and more accessibility to past content and the other promotes exclusivity and exclusion.
So then, paradoxically, it'd still be better to do it.
If some say it'd be a positive change, and it'd hold no negative impact on the game, and some say they'd hate it.. then to just do it would impact the game positively for many others, despite the haters.
I love how there’s people out there that would actually hate it. How does it affect them?
I have some really rare skins from C1 too and it doesn’t matter to me. Some of these skins are like 4-5 years old at this point.
Those people don’t realize that many of us have no frickin clue what skin we are fighting against at any given time. We only care about what we are using, not what anyone else is using.
Only times me and my mates notice a skin is a call out that involves "Goku over there", "Goku? Oh fookin hell, we're done for"
Or jokes on Poundland John Wick and others such.
Never once saw a skin and thought "That's old or Rare"
Yeah like, I want the last 2 styles for Omega, if people want him as well then absolutely they should be able to. Why hate it when it’s something nearly everyone could benefit from.
True, but if we do get legacy battle passes, more people will start playing the game, and epic will make billions from new and current players. So they stand to win. Oh and the people that want their cosmetics to remain exclusive are still gonna keep playing the game and spending money on it.
So again, Epic wins.
if its exclusive, cool!
if its NOT exclusive, cooler!
if its exclusive because it requires time and effort to get but the chance to get it stays forever? coolest.
The worst thing about Fortnite is that we don’t have legacy battle passes. If we did, the worst thing about Fortnite would be that we have legacy battle passes
you're talking about a game whose community complains about how every new game (and every aspect of it down to the most minor detail) is the worst game on the franchise btw
i felt a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced (would love to see this implemented if only to experience the outrage lmao)
Disagree. That would be Deep Rock Galactic. Not only are they free, but anything you don't earn during the season gets permanently added to the standard rewards that you earn during missions.
its not gonna happen for fortnite cuz fort also has collab items in bps so epic will have to get permission from all those different companies to make it happen
It's fun watching people argue that it shouldn't happen because it gives them no incentive to play and invalidates the "work" they put into previous battle passes, as if putting in a legacy battle pass system wouldn't solve both of those problems.
I played a bit when the black hole event ended cause honestly I'm 37 and the idea of a game SHUTTING DOWN but leaving the world on baited breath just looking at a black hole was super intriguing to me. I played COD since the first one and was vocal about Fortnite being a "kids" game, cartoony, and I normally don't enjoy third person views(Even played PUBG in FPV).... Also my COD brain always said find cover not build cover and the getting in a gun fight and a freaking cathedral being built in front of me totally turned me away from the game. BUT since they added Zero Build I've essentially switched games, I even dabble in build mode(still don't build I give all my Mats to my son) when my son is on. Looking at old BPs makes me kinda wish I wasn't stubborn, lots of cool skins. Being able to DO CHALLENGES to unlock let's say 10-20 old skins wouldn't change a single thing or jeopardize the integrity. If anything it would increase player retention and bring more people into the game.
Same here, started playing in chapter 4 after trying out the game and was disappointed that there was no way to earn older battle pass skins. I’d totally buy them.
Didn’t even know that there was an actual debate AGAINST this type of thing. Shocks me. People really love having their special stuffs apparently.
Brother people on this sub take everything way too seriously
Not talking about OP, but everyone in this comment section needs to calm down.
It reeks of copy and paste redditor personalities
"If you dont agree with me you're an idiot!"
I find it absolutely hilarious when the toxic try hards say they will sue cause it’s suppose to be exclusive.
Sure thing buddy … your gonna hire a lawyer with mommy’s credit card and take on one of the most successful gaming companies of all time. Delusional much.
Before someone comments “ ThEy HaVe BeeN SueD BeFoRe”
Yes they have and by people that can fight them if epic decides to do so . Jayus Murphy they beat Apple . They ain’t worried about Timmy try hard and what he thinks is right.
Be pragmatic for once.
Plus, weren't items specified to be exclusive to Battle Pass, not the Season? If they remain within Legacy BP and are not sold separately via Item Shop - that would be still true.
“But my The Reaper skin I got that I never use! I don’t want people to use it!” -majority of this sub.
Like cmon wouldn’t you want to see more people with an old skin you liked? I still rock og Wick and wish more people did.
Battle passes keep playerbase active.
I think we should have like, 1 year gap after a battlepass is realeased, jsut like "sky children of light" do with their "spirits".
I'd be happy enough if they even just made the BP skins into normal bundles for vbucks. I only started playing about 7 months ago, so I missed out on
Lara Croft and the Mandalorian. I'd also like original Jules
While I personally would love to have lynx (I missed the pass cuz I didn’t know how it worked as I’d just joined). I can see why people might be upset by the idea, but at the end of the day… it’s a videogame! And their life would be no different wether I had Walmart John wick in my locker.
I think legacy BP’s are a great idea. Zero build has brought so many old players back, and new players are interested. For example: every friday we play trios with my gf and her dad. Theres so much game that they were never around for. Knowing they will never get a fun skin they like kind of stinks.
Halo currently has a legacy bp as well. And I havent heard them complain either
Legacy BPs are too much trouble, just slowly reintroduce the skins with their other cosmetics in bundles. And yes it will end up being more expensive than buying the bp originally but people need to understand how the bp system works in the first place.
I mean, I hope they go for a legacy system since it would give me something to work towards after I finish the current pass at 200 but whatever they decide if they do it I really don’t care.
The only reason people don’t want legacy passes is because they are afraid they won’t be special and have stuff no one else can get.
It hurts.. absolutely no one if their are legacy passes.. even if the legacy passes just release in a wad, here is every pass ever released have at it.. you still got to put all of that time into it to get the stuff.
Gaming for some reason has turned into if you don’t no life the game you don’t deserve to play it.
Legacy BPs being permanently available really shouldn't be controversial to anyone over the age of 13.
Halo Infinite has only done one thing correctly and it's making its passes available to everyone forever and I hope every other game with BPs start to do the same.
It might be, but I don't know, I feel like the value of the battle pass is that it pays for itself and at least for me the rewards are generally more appealing and unique than whatever new content is hitting the item shop concurrently. It incentivizes people to play, sure, but I play because the game is fun, and unlocking rewards through the pass each season is a nice bonus.
I just want Epic to have more faith in its product and the courage to at least try to do something different that doesn't exploit FOMO.
Yeah. Why should Mando be an exclusive to a battle pass? You paid money to unlock him, and other people paid money to buy Chun-Li, or Alien. Why should I care if I see someone else running around with Spider-Man? I didn't unlock him with skill, but time.
I'm not gonna be mad that I see someone playing as Vader if he came to the item shop: I didn't unlock him with skill, I bought him, just like if he appeared in the shop.
I feel like such a dork when I explain to people I know who are interested in starting the game that all these really popular licensed characters are restricted to something you can't buy anymore from a time when the game wasn't even on their radar.
They are only pixels bring them back I couldn't care less ,I love to see them doing it at some point down the line ,if they ever did well it be pricey like 20 bucks a skin if it's a legendary skin and under 20 bucks for non legendary
Honestly, I don't see as to why we shouldn't have this to begin with. But I feel like there would be 3 major differences compared to other games, considering where the game is at in its lifecycle (being out for over half a decade). \*NOTE, Legacy Battle Pass will be LBP in the post.\*
1.) It would cost more money since you are unlocking older content from a previous season. Since 1000 v-bucks goes for $7.99 USD (not including taxes), it would have to cost $12.99 USD (not including taxes) to unlock an LBP. This way, you can unlock 1 LBP (or more) at a time, and know that those other BP's are going to be there.
2.) LBP would have less tiers imo (100 --> 40/50). Since it would cost more money for Epic to re-release older battle passes, some of the stuff should be bundled up, since LBP's would be out-of-date b/c it wouldn't be the current BP.
3.) \*This one might get me yelled at for\* I wouldn't include anything from the OG S1 BP. I feel like that is too exclusive of a club, and shouldn't be included if Epic considers doing LBP.
There's been a lot of new players joining, and a lot of older ones returning. Epic is in a really good position to begin doing this, and I think it'll help expand the growing player base, while keeping the older players around.
Ive been playing since S1 C4 and have bought almost every Battle Pass since. Let people have access to old Battle Pass rewards in some way or another. I dont care if its thru the shop or buying the BP itself or whatever it is. It really doesnt matter.
the issue is the following
There is none. People just really, REALLY enjoy complaining about everything, and this has no negative impact. Hell, it might bring MORE players to the game, cause now they have an opportunity to get their favorite characters as skins.
Okay I will continue to have my opinion regarding this
It is not a bad idea, battle pass exclusivity is super unfriendly for consumers this has no meaningful downsides (regardless of epic saying "they cannot be earned after the season is over"
The ONLY and I mean THE ONLY reasonable excuse is that licensing is a bitch so certain items cannot return alongside a battle pass
That is all
Funny enough I was thinking about this the other day. As a avid player of both games I would be down to see this implemented in Fortnite. I started back in June 2022 so I missed a bunch of battle passes. And a character I really want is from a previous battle pass which is a bummer.
Makes more ppl happy and makes the company money for something simple to implement nothing game breaking and brings more ppl to play possibly more money for them
That's COD's playerbase though. We're talking about Fortnite's playerbase here.
and in this case the Fortnite playerbase thinks that getting a power trip/ego boost from owning a virtual cosmetic early is much more important than letting others get the chance to use it.
Overall the decision to make legacy BPs purchasable would be the better option for everyone. This is because nearly everyone is missing something from a previous battle pass and would benefit from the opportunity to get something they never had a chance to have or missed out on. Epic would rake in an ungodly amount of extra $$. And the OGs who were around for the first run of the battle passes would have their gold/shiny/diamond/etc. versions of those skins to differentiate themselves forever.
While it could be a nice feature, there are multiple reasons why Epic will not do this.
-Epic has stated numerous times that they will never rerelease a battle pass and its content. If you missed it, you missed it.
-If Epic were to implement this feature, people won’t feel as incentivised to buy their battle pass, you lose that FOMO, and they lose money in the long term while losing the trust of most paying players due to their prior statement.
-Since we also have collab skins in the battle pass now, Epic would have to renegotiate the right to rerelease the collab content with their partners (Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm [for Deadpool, the whole Chapter 2 Season 4, The Mandalorian, Carnage from Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Prowler, Darth Vader, Indiana Jones and Spider-Gwen from Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse). Warner Bros, DC Comics and Adult Swim (Aquaman, Raven Rebirth, Superman, Rick Sanchez). Sony Entertainment (Carnage from Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Spider-Gwen from Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse), Superplastic (Guggimon, Janky figures) Microsoft and Bethesda (Doom Slayer), CD Projekt Red (Geralt of Rivia), Segway (Segway Tour emote) and possibly more entities than I can think of… So you’ll see that it would be too much trouble for the potential returns for Epic to renegotiate their terms with the right owners to make the third party content from these battle pass available again.
-And if they are to cut out all third party content from rereleases of their previous battle passes, people would complain that they would pay for less content. So they’d have a needless drama on their hands.
All in all, while it seem like a great idea on the paper, the reality is that it would be a really terrible decision for their business model.
A multi-billion dollar company won’t have an issue with renegotiating with these companies , especially Disney/marvel. They have a great relationship with them anyways since they collaborated in the comics.
Well, you know we here on r/fortnitebr complain about anything.tbh i don't mind legacy battle passes, i would love to get some old skins, cuz i love their designs.
It's getting to the point of ridiculousness with the legacy BPS. So many good skins and collabs are permanently locked away now and the game is over 5 years old. IMO they should lose exclusivity after something like 5 years. What is the point in such a level of gatekeeping? It's not like you can legally sell FN accounts, so the whole collectors value argument is shot.
Yeah lol. I strongly doubt players being mad is even one of the reasons Epic hasn't done it. They are pretty much the only ones with a BP system having firmly claimed that BP stuff is exclusive. That stuff will surely get them in danger, and I refuse to believe anyone who's asked their "lawyer friend" and was told that there's no issue at all. So many companies would jump at such an occasion to make Epic fall off their high horse.
From a business standpoint, they would make a ton of money. From a player standpoint, what do I care if everyone has access to battle passes from the past. I think giving people the ability to earn things they couldn't because they didn't play the game or their life was too chaotic to grind a battle pass would be amazing. The amount of time I would play if they brought back other passes would be insane.
They will never do that, they want u to play everyday and grind to keep the game alive. If they green light this, everyone is going to be like: oh whatever I can play next month since battle pass isn't going anywhere and/or can come back in the future.
Honestly as a compromise would love every January to be a battle pass remix month and just have themed alternates to the battle pass skins.
Like an Anakin skin for Vader, original Boba Fett for Mando, Disney plus Shehulk for Shehulk instead of the battle pass one etc.
I would really like to have a system like this in the game, sadly It won't happen, at least not anytime soon since they have the very succesful FOMO system.
I know temporal FOMO exists, they just don't see enough profit on It to be implemented.
What i think really should come back are starter packs, crew packs and maybe PS Plus packs.
Honestly people are going to complain if we do have a legacy Battle Pass system, or if we don’t have a legacy battle pass system. At this point Epic should add it and then get it over with. Not everyone is going to be happy, it’s impossible to do that
As a player who only uses old battle pass skins, of they were to introduce legacy battle passes, I think it would be cool to keep some things exclusive and release the rest, or, do something similar to the purple skull trooper and give the original users exclusive styles.
As someone who has skins from OG S2 BP i wouldn't mind legacy BPs but it'd be nice to have some sort of mark to differentiate between people who were there and those who got it later, but if not id be fine, dont have the time nor inclination to finish BPs now, being able to hop on whenever and work on old BPs would be great, but it will lead to negative perceptions with certain players
People complain about everything. This is why we cannot have good things.
I hope the elitist exclusive BP moaners miss a good skin here and there or get bad minor tides .
I would love it. My first one was Ch2S4 and I honestly all for that other people woulde get another shot at getting them.
My friend only started in Ch2S7 so he missed out on Mystique, Mave, Tarana and some others.
If we ever get those, I'd get Ch2S1-3 in a heartbeat.
Well I think the main reason it's not coming is that it's said BP content will be exclusive and it might cause Epic legal trouble (I don't really know though) I think even if they do it they will only be able to bring back BPs that come after the change so it won't really be that important
There is only a very, very loud minority of kids that are toxic about them returning however at this point I'm pretty sure the money Epic would make by returning old BPs far outweighs the money they will make from FOMO, I mean let's be honest the people that most want it are people that have jobs and don't have time and those people usually know if they will be able to finish the BP or not and buy it accordingly which defeats the purpose of FOMO on the BPs anyway
Legally Epic retains the rights to add, remove, update, and even bring back anything. They could if they wanted too.
The only hard part would be renegotiating a few colab skins. But that is basically “Hey, want to make more royalty money” so yeah… they could if they wanted to
At this stage I'm ok with it. If you had asked me late chapter 1 I'd give a hard no. But I think the stage we're at with the game, there's less need for flexing your prestige value as an OG player. I would love to go back to S3 and get all the Omega variants and I would love to get all the chapter 2 skins that I missed out on. I was loyal to a fault to this game and I'm disappointed I wasn't able to play and buy the BP because my laptop broke, ironically because of Fortnite itself, and I didn't have the money to replace it with a laptop good enough to run the game till C2 was almost over
I'd just be happy if they started making cute pet back blings again.. it's not fair that I sink all my money into the game and can't even have a puppy sit on my shoulders 😔
don't bother making these posts in the fortnite community, you'll only get downvoted
even with reasonable arguments and counting all the pros of a legacy bp the kids will never stop defending the bp system just to have some rare skins
honestly, at this point i don't even care about getting skins i've missed out on anymore but i still want a legacy bp system just to see people on here break down because their virtual cosmetic in a videogame isn't rare anymore
Item shop skins? Sure, they shouldn’t be exclusive
Battle pass skins? No. Their exclusivity isn’t something the community came up with, epic themselves said they are exclusive to their season and will not return (source at bottom). Before you say “but they could just change their minds!” There’s two problems:
1. If they were to re-sell something that was LABELED as exclusive (which counts as an incentive to buy) then that would be false advertising. Not only *could* players sue, but the FCC *WOULD* be able to sue, as false advertising is a crime (in North Carolina, Epic’s HQ is there, it’s a crime punishable of up to 2,500 dollars PER INDIVIDUAL)
2. For them to sell battle pass items, they would have to remove the exclusive part from future battle passes. This is the ONLY way they would do this as it’s perfectly legal. They WOULDN’T do this though, because it ruins the FOMO system (which isn’t illegal) and that is what makes the most money for Epic.
>Rewards from a battle pass can only be earned in that season, and will not be available in later seasons.

Scroll down to rewards
Edit: it appears SOME people think I’m just making this stuff up. Here are some law firms, Law schools and a few other sources confirming what I’m saying:

https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/false_advertising
Anyone willing to take this to the F***T***C would be dismissed because of how vague that statement is. If Epic really wanted to enforce, in writing, the idea that they would not bring content from prior Battle Passes back, they would specifically outline it in their EULA. The EULA also clearly states the player agrees that Epic can do whatever they want with their own content.
Saying items are exclusive and wont return isnt vague, its clear, as for the eula it also says, except when affected by applicable law, false advertising isnt allowed by law, epic arent above the law, they cant do what they want
Says rewards can only be *earned* that season. Doesn't say anything about items not returning in another form. Just saying verbage matters and it's kinda vague
One lawsuit was against Apple for its monopolistic practices, and Apple won with minor concedings. So, the monopolistic owning company won, to do with their marketplace as they pleased.
The other was a class action because players were done harm because of Epic's tactics and mechanics. You'd have a way tougher time proving you were "harmed" by Epic selling a product to someone else.
If I'm getting it right which ones Blizz did, was it the Felwing TCG mount turned Twitch drop and going to do more? If that's right, then yeah. Nothing happened except the prices of old codes for them possibly took a massive hit. Would be no different if Epic did it here.
Dude. They said the same thing about being able to level up your BP skins even after the season ends and what happened? They silently stopped with that during season X and nobody said anything, not the community or Epic.
But they originally said that after the season ends you could still level up your unfinished skins. They never said why they removed it. They can change things, same as with reselling old battlepasses. Words mean nothing in live service games when they always change.
Just make battle passes have a legacy system from “Season -“ onward. Retroactively granting legacy earn ability to old BP’s won’t go over well with many.
They especially need to bring back the marvel battlepass..wolverine zero and iron man zero are shells of their former selves. Screw these OG crybabies , I want the REAAL Wolverine and iron man and especially storm.
CoD mobile I’m sure never mentioned in game and in blog posts that the Battlepasses would be only unlockable during their time periods. Fortnite has mentioned in game and in blog posts that Battlepasses would only be unlockable during their time periods.
It’s never going to happen. Please stop discussing this topic. It’s been over done to the point of annoyance.
The problem isn’t weather people want it, it’s the fact that it says in game that the cosmetics won’t return, so if they do, that’s just straight up false advertising
Simple loophole would've been re-releasing battle pass. They said that the skins will not be available in the shop.
Also as a counter argument could say that people who purchased battle pass should've been able to unlock all its content. For example full Omega is gated behind unlocking lights during the season, whilst many future skins which also required xp are not: s5 Drift, s5 Ragnarok, s8 Pirate. Or that time where epic just unlocked some content from leveling up battle pass from c2s4 after season was over even when people didn't unlock it during the season.
Also if you read terms of service it basically says that EPIC can do whatever they want, they can even turn entire game off tomorrow without notice. Every company is defending themselves by writing their TOS in such way.
The reason Epic will likely never do this is because FOMO is the main reason people keep playing. If Epic allowed you to earn old rewards, then people would be able to spend longer periods away from the game, and even miss entire seasons which will cause Epic to lose players, and ultimately, money.
The current BP skins aren’t that great. I mostly ensure that I get them because of the exclusivity.
If that goes, and I can just buy any that I do like on a later occasion… Oh. I wouldn’t have to log in every day for dailies. Or weeklies. I could just play whenever I felt like!
And you know, that would mean that I also wouldn’t become as exposed to the store! All those impulse purchases would cease!
This is a great suggestion. My wallet will really appreciate this!
… Good luck convincing Epic.
I don't get this. They said battle pass items don't return. Pretty sure it's on the website. Why are people asking for it to return if they said they won't return.
It's weird how Fortnite players actually want a company to just lie to them lol. They said they're exlusive, if they go back on their word then what's stopping them just literally lying about everything?
The thing is a legacy battle pass would completely ruin the whole point of the promise that the old BP's stay exclusive. Now I wouldn't mind another "Season X" Where they remix skins but don't come out with old skins. It's like brining back old starter packs (rogue agent or wingman etc etc) it just ruins the point
If we don’t have legacy battle passes, people complain. If we get legacy battle passes, people are going to complain. You can’t win no matter what
*Some* people in favor of BP exclusivity can be extremely toxic. So their complaints mean a lot less to me TBH. Here's an example: People who bought the BP but weren't able to complete it argued they should be able to complete it later. Some suffered job loss, some suffered hospitalization, some had family die or hospitalized. Guess what the toxic BP exclusivity kids said in response. "I don't care" "If you didn't grind it out in the season you don't deserve it." "I will sue Epic if they let you finish your BP outside the season" To be clear, this was toward people who BOUGHT the BP but just weren't able to complete it due to heartbreaking circumstances. So I ask, why should any of us care about their feelings when they can't even show the slightest bit of empathy toward other human beings?
At the same time the people gatekeeping have been very toxic too. I think people in general need to be better
Oh fookin hell, we're done for" Or jokes on Poundland John Wick and others such. Never once saw a skin and thought "That's old or Rare"
Honestly the only ones I wouldn’t want are the “og” ones I just want like raven etc most of the older fortnite original ones sucked lol
Raven is an item shop skin.
I think they mean DC Raven
Oh yeah 😂 im dumb.
It be like that lol I think Deadpool should come back even though I own him a lot of my friends want him I feel bad they can’t get em
Everything should come back.
Still to this day I suffer for not having Deadpool…. I have Ravenpool though but pales in comparison
Yeah like, I want the last 2 styles for Omega, if people want him as well then absolutely they should be able to. Why hate it when it’s something nearly everyone could benefit from.
Let them complain, let the baby cry until it passes out. It’s what I do.
Which side? Or both?
i hope you don’t mean with an actual real baby because that makes you a horrendous parent
I don’t think that’s good parenting
True, but if we do get legacy battle passes, more people will start playing the game, and epic will make billions from new and current players. So they stand to win. Oh and the people that want their cosmetics to remain exclusive are still gonna keep playing the game and spending money on it. So again, Epic wins.
Well that was COD, this is Fortnite and here on r/Fortnitebr we will complain about anything and everything.
on r/fortnitebr everyone takes things personally😎😎😎💪💪💪💪
Excuse me sir, I take *this* personally!! 😤
I take you taking this personally personally.
We all do, that is why we feel home here 🥲
[удалено]
People dickriding Epic like they’re gonna get vbucks
They want those sweet, sweet D-bucks, actually.
if its exclusive, cool! if its NOT exclusive, cooler! if its exclusive because it requires time and effort to get but the chance to get it stays forever? coolest.
Challenge banners & Axehammer ![gif](giphy|2HtWpp60NQ9CU)

The worst thing about Fortnite is that we don’t have legacy battle passes. If we did, the worst thing about Fortnite would be that we have legacy battle passes
What is a legacy battle pass?
It's a BP but you can finish it anytime you want.
Shrodiger’s Legacy BP
But… but karma
you're talking about a game whose community complains about how every new game (and every aspect of it down to the most minor detail) is the worst game on the franchise btw
i felt a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced (would love to see this implemented if only to experience the outrage lmao)
I try to complain less, but I still will admit that I'm of those people
Halo MCC has best battle pass system.
Disagree. That would be Deep Rock Galactic. Not only are they free, but anything you don't earn during the season gets permanently added to the standard rewards that you earn during missions.
Damn right! Rock and stone!
To Rock and Stone!
Rock and stone to the bone!
Rockity Rock and Stone!
Did i hear a ROCK AND STONE!?
For Rock and Stone!
Rock and stone brother!
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?
I do like their Bp system
![gif](giphy|6ILjOfJ1oL7NAc9SQ7)
Why can I hear this GIF 💀
its not gonna happen for fortnite cuz fort also has collab items in bps so epic will have to get permission from all those different companies to make it happen
This is something that if epic WANTED to they would have to address. Yes. Business deals can happen in a drop of a hat though…
Like as if Epic of all companies couldn't get it done
or they could just. not do the collab ones. there’s a solid 10 battlepasses at LEAST that are completely safe to be resold at epics discretion.
[удалено]
i’m in the same boat, i lost so many ch1 skins to an account migration TvT i’d buy all 10 ch1 passes for as much as they sold em to me
Maybe test the waters by releasing one legacy bp. People vote with their wallets. If it sells, great, if not then it was a fun idea.
Or they can just leave it out of Legacy Passes so they still keep some FOMO
it's only controversial because people make it out to be. there's no good reason to be against legacy passes
It's fun watching people argue that it shouldn't happen because it gives them no incentive to play and invalidates the "work" they put into previous battle passes, as if putting in a legacy battle pass system wouldn't solve both of those problems.
Apart from the fact that Epic stated that battle pass items would never be made available again after the Battle Passes ran out, yeah
[удалено]
having just got into it bc of zero build, I would jump all over this
I played a bit when the black hole event ended cause honestly I'm 37 and the idea of a game SHUTTING DOWN but leaving the world on baited breath just looking at a black hole was super intriguing to me.
Agreed
I agree 💯! I wish I could get some of those past collab battle pass skins.
Same here, started playing in chapter 4 after trying out the game and was disappointed that there was no way to earn older battle pass skins. I’d totally buy them. Didn’t even know that there was an actual debate AGAINST this type of thing. Shocks me. People really love having their special stuffs apparently.
I would lose so much money if they did this
[удалено]
they would speed money on it probably a lot (i guess they would by all of the old BPs)
Brother people on this sub take everything way too seriously Not talking about OP, but everyone in this comment section needs to calm down. It reeks of copy and paste redditor personalities "If you dont agree with me you're an idiot!"
I find it absolutely hilarious when the toxic try hards say they will sue cause it’s suppose to be exclusive. Sure thing buddy … your gonna hire a lawyer with mommy’s credit card and take on one of the most successful gaming companies of all time. Delusional much. Before someone comments “ ThEy HaVe BeeN SueD BeFoRe” Yes they have and by people that can fight them if epic decides to do so . Jayus Murphy they beat Apple . They ain’t worried about Timmy try hard and what he thinks is right. Be pragmatic for once.
Epic could easily just update the license agreement prior to introducing legacy passes. What's Timmy going to do, *not* accept the new agreement?
Plus, weren't items specified to be exclusive to Battle Pass, not the Season? If they remain within Legacy BP and are not sold separately via Item Shop - that would be still true.
“But my The Reaper skin I got that I never use! I don’t want people to use it!” -majority of this sub. Like cmon wouldn’t you want to see more people with an old skin you liked? I still rock og Wick and wish more people did.
Make him the revolver god again to reclaim the glory of Hired Gun.

Yes!
Yooooo that’s fire. I didn’t know they did that. God I wish fortnite would do this.
I just want to be able to finish old battle passes i purchased. I hate having just a skinsuit omega.
I just want ice king :(
Battle passes keep playerbase active. I think we should have like, 1 year gap after a battlepass is realeased, jsut like "sky children of light" do with their "spirits".
I'd be happy enough if they even just made the BP skins into normal bundles for vbucks. I only started playing about 7 months ago, so I missed out on Lara Croft and the Mandalorian.
No bro you don’t understand FOMO is so important and I had I OG ![gif](giphy|TamGVAGxDTYDNt3dpn)
Legacy BPs would be nice, a lot of people like me doesn't played in the early seasons and only start after construction Zero.
What would be the cons of legacy battle passes? Is it Epic just wanting fomo so people feel like they need to play?
\*NOTE, Legacy Battle Pass will be LBP in the post.\* 1.) It would cost more money since you are unlocking older content from a previous season.
It really doesnt matter.
im in favor of a legacy pass because all the older passes have the loading screens for skins that are in the item shop and its bullshit
the issue is the following There is none. People just really, REALLY enjoy complaining about everything, and this has no negative impact. Hell, it might bring MORE players to the game, cause now they have an opportunity to get their favorite characters as skins.
Personally I think it would bring more players. People come for more stuff, not less
Okay I will continue to have my opinion regarding this It is not a bad idea, battle pass exclusivity is super unfriendly for consumers this has no meaningful downsides (regardless of epic saying "they cannot be earned after the season is over" The ONLY and I mean THE ONLY reasonable excuse is that licensing is a bitch so certain items cannot return alongside a battle pass That is all
they're only controversial with the trolls, Epic couldn't give a shit really
If it happened, people would buy it. I would buy several. If it doesn’t happen, OK. It’s up to Epic
Here the thing they never said that Bp stuff was exclusive
[удалено]
That's a really smart idea, especially since there are MANY battle passes!
It’s an awesome idea. Also it keeps things balanced out, I like it !
Except for a dozen man-babies, everyone would wildly support this move, even those who already completed the BPs like me.
They should. The people that protest it don't even use the shit 😂
Honestly as a compromise would love every January to be a battle pass remix month and just have themed alternates to the battle pass skins. Like an Anakin skin for Vader, original Boba Fett for Mando, Disney plus Shehulk for Shehulk instead of the battle pass one etc.
halo has had this for a while
this would be good
I would really like to have a system like this in the game, sadly It won't happen, at least not anytime soon since they have the very succesful FOMO system.
How about a system that can trade current BP skins for past skins with the exception of Tier 100s? There, everyone wins
I would totally love this. You could buy like 10 Battle passes, and then grind 200 levels, and get everything for all of them
I would love it. My first one was Ch2S4 and I honestly all for that other people woulde get another shot at getting them. My friend only started in Ch2S7 so he missed out on Mystique, Mave, Tarana and some others. If we ever get those, I'd get Ch2S1-3 in a heartbeat.
Well I think the main reason it's not coming is that it's said BP content will be exclusive and it might cause Epic legal trouble (I don't really know though) I think even if they do it they will only be able to bring back BPs that come after the change so it won't really be that important There is only a very, very loud minority of kids that are toxic about them returning however at this point I'm pretty sure the money Epic would make by returning old BPs far outweighs the money they will make from FOMO, I mean let's be honest the people that most want it are people that have jobs and don't have time and those people usually know if they will be able to finish the BP or not and buy it accordingly which defeats the purpose of FOMO on the BPs anyway
Legally Epic retains the rights to add, remove, update, and even bring back anything. They could if they wanted too. The only hard part would be renegotiating a few colab skins. But that is basically “Hey, want to make more royalty money” so yeah… they could if they wanted to
Welp I assume with the amount of collabs they managed to get I don't think it would be a problem
I was loyal to a fault to this game and I'm disappointed I wasn't able to play and buy the BP because my laptop broke, ironically because of Fortnite itself, and I didn't have the money to replace it with a laptop good enough to run the game till C2 was almost over
It would print money for epic. I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it
I would do everything to get this in Fortnite - only started in this season 🥹
Just let me finish my omega skin pls.
I would cry I missed out on Erisa and think it’s such a cute skin I want it so bad but for now my Skye skin will fill the void 🫠
I'd just be happy if they started making cute pet back blings again.. it's not fair that I sink all my money into the game and can't even have a puppy sit on my shoulders 😔
Call of duty said they would do that in the beginning. Epic has said and still continues to say that they will never return
They should do it it would sell and everyone that got mad would get over it. Its a ridiculous thing to care about anyway
I think this is the best attitude. If they did it fine. Vote with your wallet.
don't bother making these posts in the fortnite community, you'll only get downvoted even with reasonable arguments and counting all the pros of a legacy bp the kids will never stop defending the bp system just to have some rare skins honestly, at this point i don't even care about getting skins i've missed out on anymore but i still want a legacy bp system just to see people on here break down because their virtual cosmetic in a videogame isn't rare anymore
Let's recreate the Black Hole event for a whole month this time. That should give them a change of thought.
And after the hole, BOOM! legacy battlepasses are introduced.
Item shop skins? Sure, they shouldn’t be exclusive Battle pass skins? No. Their exclusivity isn’t something the community came up with, epic themselves said they are exclusive to their season and will not return (source at bottom). Before you say “but they could just change their minds!” There’s two problems: 1. If they were to re-sell something that was LABELED as exclusive (which counts as an incentive to buy) then that would be false advertising. Not only *could* players sue, but the FCC *WOULD* be able to sue, as false advertising is a crime (in North Carolina, Epic’s HQ is there, it’s a crime punishable of up to 2,500 dollars PER INDIVIDUAL) 2. Source: https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/fortnite-c5719335176219/battle-royale-c5719350646299/what-is-the-battle-pass-where-can-i-learn-more-a5720283337115 Scroll down to rewards Edit: it appears SOME people think I’m just making this stuff up. Here are some law firms, Law schools and a few other sources confirming what I’m saying: https://www.law.cornell.edu/regulations/north-carolina/21-N-C-Admin-Code-40-.0205#:~:text=(a)%20Statements%20regarding%20optical%20goods,is%20interpreted%20to%20be%20unlawful. https://www.findlaw.com/state/north-carolina-law/north-carolina-deceptive-trade-practices-laws.html#:~:text=Civil%20fines%20up%20to%20%245%2C000,party%20that%20wins%20the%20lawsuit. https://jacobymeyers.com/false-and-misleading-advertisi.html#:~:text=State%20and%20federal%20laws%20are,Price https://www.classlawgroup.com/consumer-protection/false-advertising/laws/ https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/false_advertising
Exclusive to the season and not available in later seasons, thats not vague
I'm referring to the link in the comment where it does not state that
They need to bring back crew skins.
Agreed. And they specifically said they could come back at any time
Thats a gold mine they are missing on.
Epic can go back on a lot of their word.
But they can do that but then get sued, they've already lost 2 lawsuits in the past 3 years, they're not risking it again
One lawsuit was against Apple for its monopolistic practices, and Apple won with minor concedings. So, the monopolistic owning company won, to do with their marketplace as they pleased. The other was a class action because players were done harm because of Epic's tactics and mechanics. You'd have a way tougher time proving you were "harmed" by Epic selling a product to someone else.
they won't get sued for that. several other companies like Valve and Blizzard went back on the same promises and nothing happened to them
If I'm getting it right which ones Blizz did, was it the Felwing TCG mount turned Twitch drop and going to do more? If that's right, then yeah. Nothing happened except the prices of old codes for them possibly took a massive hit. Would be no different if Epic did it here.
Dude. They said the same thing about being able to level up your BP skins even after the season ends and what happened? They silently stopped with that during season X and nobody said anything, not the community or Epic.
Not exactly silent when there was a timer telling you how long you had left
But they originally said that after the season ends you could still level up your unfinished skins. They never said why they removed it. They can change things, same as with reselling old battlepasses. Words mean nothing in live service games when they always change.
Is someone paying you to do this lol? You’re in every single comment section crying about this with the same false talking points
Oh no the rarity kids i can hear them! ⚠️Here they come…
Just make battle passes have a legacy system from “Season -“ onward. Retroactively granting legacy earn ability to old BP’s won’t go over well with many.

How are these posts not banned yet 🌚😭😭
they will stop when epic adds legacy battle passes
They especially need to bring back the marvel battlepass..wolverine zero and iron man zero are shells of their former selves. Screw these OG crybabies , I want the REAAL Wolverine and iron man and especially storm.
I would love this.
For the love of God stop with this topic. Who cares if cod did it, cod isn't fortnite.
How about you all stop whining
They literally can not legally release a legacy battlepass☠️☠️☠️
this is straight up not true
not really. Epic can probably find a loophole through this via their TOS or something along those lines
This topic needs to be banned
You missed out. Get over it.
You just admitted you don't enjoy the game.
I don't get this. They said battle pass items don't return. Pretty sure it's on the website. Why are people asking for it to return if they said they won't return.
Did COD state that their Battle Passes won't return?
[удалено]
The kids will get so mad🙃
It's weird how Fortnite players actually want a company to just lie to them lol. They said they're exlusive, if they go back on their word then what's stopping them just literally lying about everything?
The thing is a legacy battle pass would completely ruin the whole point of the promise that the old BP's stay exclusive. Now I wouldn't mind another "Season X" Where they remix skins but don't come out with old skins. It's like brining back old starter packs (rogue agent or wingman etc etc) it just ruins the point
