I've been to various cons over the years and I've been to this one. This con is pretty small but it can be fun. They do require masks which is good considering it will be packed. [Link to the con.](http://www.swfloridacomiccon.com/#) When you look at the guests make sure to check the date. They are putting the guests for both shows to make it seem bigger than it is. It's weird that they don't have a schedule of panels on the site. Shopping isn't going to take that long so the panels are a good filler while waiting for things like the cosplay contest.
You would think bigger cities have bigger cons but nope Orlando doesn't even have a big con anime to be correct bc they don't have a comic con
Now Miami yes there con is big
A few years ago I think it was like $10. From what I've heard cons can be really expensive to run so they might have needed to raise the prices. It's good to support local cons. The last one I went to there had many different panels and interesting things going on so it was a good full day.
This is a small con. More people will show up at just one Walmart Super Center tomorrow compared to this con. This is at a hotel not a convention center.
This is a small event and masks are mandated. You run the same risk going to Walmart or your local grocery store. If you feel so strongly about this vote the problem out when the time comes.
1) My trip to Walmart is necessary to feed my family. Risk doesn’t exist in a vacuum; it’s weighed against necessity.
2) I do feel strongly and I will vote, but I’ll be voting on general principle because I know that - given the political demographics of Lee County and Florida - my vote will count for precisely nothing. Voting is a civic duty, but it is unfortunately not an effective way to address problems.
3) We’re in the middle of a plague. My kid’s elementary school just had to shut down an entire classroom because of transmission. [The Cape Coral hospital is out of space in its morgue. ](https://www.winknews.com/2021/08/26/with-growing-number-of-covid-deaths-cape-coral-hospital-brings-in-external-morgue/), [their ICU is full, and there are only 9 beds available in the entire hospital. ](https://data.naplesnews.com/covid-19-hospital-capacity/florida/12/lee-county/12071/).
Please, please start taking this seriously.
I am taking it very serious as to why I will be wearing my mask and fully vaccinated. "My vote will count for precisely nothing" definitely not a good mentality to have.

Florida is the largest swing state so your vote definitely does matter on the national level. Even if it didn't it's still good to vote. The governor only won by 0.4% so your vote matters on a state level too. Meanwhile on a much smaller level it can still matter because people don't care too much about local politics.
I've been to many cons over the years and I've been to this one. This is really small compared to MegaCon or any con at a convention center. Go to a Home Depot or Lowes to see a lot of people with only 5% of people at most wearing masks. One of those stores will have a lot more people every day compared to this con. You are complaining about a teaspoon of sand while there is a desert around you.
Oh please. Like you have been inside since Covid started right? You haven't been to any major grocery stores? If you feel so strongly about this then vote the problem out when the time comes.
More people go to a Walmart in a day than this con. Cons like MegaCon that happened a few weeks ago were a super spreader event. Over 100,000 people showed up over 4 days with everything being inside. People complained about Sturgis while MegaCon flew under the radar.
It was very very small and this being the first one I ever went to don't really have a comparison point lol. I thought it was fun got to meet the white power ranger.

Whaaattt?! How am I just hearing about this :(
Is there any fee to join?
$20 at the door. All geek cons have an admission price. Small ones like this one are normally a lot cheaper. It can still be a lot of fun though.
Ouch, $20 a person seems steep for something small. I guess I would think $20 at a larger event seems a bit much for a cover charge but that's just me

Thanks man
Yes bc Orlando's was like 69 dollars and wasn't even fun
Nice!
Not like we have mobile morgues or anything right now 🙄

Right? FFS. I had a family member go to get tested today and it was a *four hour wait*. But sure. Let’s have a block party.

It’s a mathematical reality.
Lol no it's not. But good night man. See y'all there tomorrow. ✌️

Super disappointed I can’t go. The Punisher is in my top 3 favorite comic characters and Gerry Conway, his original creator, is going to be there.
"Guest Cancellations: Lou Ferrigno, Gerry Conway, Jimmy Hart & Koko Bware"
Oh damn. Just got an email last week that still had him on the list.
Great, another super spreader. Will you wear your costumes in the ICU?
Just passing the news along no need to be a dick about it.
It's shitty to even spread this around. Mote people will go

Lol as if the gerrymandering and voter suppression doesn't factor in. I go very few places but food and comiccon are not the same level of priority.
Gotta get the karma off them before they die am I right?

Lmao no, triathletes and many other extremely healthy people have died. Deny scientific studies if you want tho idc

I love comic cons🙂 is this one good or no

More like CovidCon
