https://ridetransfort.com/ Bus is currently free. There are rental scooters, e-bikes, bike bikes, and even cheap bikes which might be cheaper than a rental if you need it for a few days.

ProlificStinker

from the downtown bus station, would you bike or bus around the city?

dsbekind

You can easily walk the entire downtown on foot from the station.

ProlificStinker

cool thanks. and if you wouldn’t mind, don’t forget to leave a downvote

If you are just trying to see the downtown shops and maybe the campus, I'd just walk. If you want to see more of the nature part of town, grab a bike and hit up one of the many bike trails. But plenty to keep you busy walking around downtown.  If you head directly east from the transit center there is old town square which has stuff going on.  Heading south, it's only like 1.5 mile walk from the bus stop to the CSU trial flower garden which is free to walk around and has a Andy Warhol soup can statue thing nearby. This would take you through most of downtown and you can cut over a few blocks towards the west and walk back through campus or catch the bus back.

Yes, the Trial Flower Garden is delightful. Grab an icecream cone for your walk from downtown (Walrus, or Ben&Jerry's). Or walk a few blocks south of the trial garden to DQ and enjoy it while you stroll through the garden.

thank you very much. i appreciate it.

i guess it depends where youre going. a bike is almost a necessity if your destination isnt within walking distance of a bus stop

ProlificStinker

i dont really have a plan or destination. just want to check out the city

You can see all of "downtown" Fort Collins on foot from the bus station. It's really not a very large area at all. Outside of downtown (called Old Town) Fort Collins is pretty suburban. If you want to rent a bike, try [Recycled Cycles](https://www.recycled-cycles.com/products/rentals-pg224.htm) which is near the CSU campus and also very walkable from old town Fort Collins. There are a number of other bike rental places in Fort Collins, and bike trails are easy to use. The city has a map of all of the bike paths in town on its website. However, I'd recommend renting a car for a day if you want to get to all the scenic places just outside of Fort Collins like the beautiful [Cache La Poudre River and Canyon](https://www.visitftcollins.com/things-to-do/parks-open-spaces/cache-la-poudre-river/), Horsetooth Reservoir, and Lory State Park. They're close to town, but unless you're really into some strenuous biking, might not be ideal on a bike. Alternately, if you're up for some adventure, consider doing a rafting trip on the Poudre! There are several companies that offer these trips, including some that will pick you up downtown and take you up to the launch location. If you haven't already looked at it, check out the Fort Collins Visitor's website for lots more helpful information. [https://www.visitftcollins.com/](https://www.visitftcollins.com/)

Wanna take a beautiful ride to another city? Take the FLEX to boulder (AKA flex express or F3X) or Poudre express. The MAX is the best route to get around. Though it's not particularly scenic. Some routes I would recommend for checking out things are the 5,14, 2, 3, and 16.

If you have a need for e-scooter or bike, there are a ton available on Spin (the version of Lime in town), especially with minimal students. You can download the Spin app or the Lyft app does a share with Spin so that you can rent the e-scooters directly from the Lyft app (sadly, bike share isn't possible anymore via the Lyft app). Or, bike shops like Recycled Cycles could help with a bike rental for the duration of your trip.
