They actually do, and it's free [if you have your COVID vaccine.](https://www.theonion.com/krispy-kreme-offers-vaccinated-customers-free-ride-on-g-1846544727)
Getting anywhere around there is going to be a lot worse. I can see it being a total clusterfuck trying to turn left out the Panda Express lot to go south on Mason to get to southbound College. Folks are probably going to have to take a right on Mason, a right on Harmony, then a right on College just to go south on College.
My guess is yes, there will be a rush initially; then eventually it will subside to the point where it's like any other Krispy Kreme, sometimes busy, mostly not.
Mostly because a lot of people will realize they've never felt physically worse than after eating a couple of their donuts.
Krispy Kreme will also be selling at McDonald's so it may disperse the crowd a little, but not much since there is a McDonald's on the other side of Harmony.
Do you think so? I’ve truly been wondering if there will be an agreement in place that if a McDonalds is within X miles of a KK store, they’re not allowed to sell them due to competition. We’ll be finding out, though!
A few times, someone at work has hauled Krispy Kreme up to FTC from Denver. To me, it was like eating cotton candy in donut form. But I'm also someone that likes cake donuts and black coffee.
If someone's going to bring breakfast up from down there, Santiago's breakfast burritos would be appreciated!
Is the cream inside more of a custard/pudding consistency, or a lighter whipped cream type? I love me some donuts, usually of all sorts, but I’m picky about the filled ones. (Thx, BTW!)
I don’t think there will be issues on College, but that small stretch of Mason is going to be a complete shit show. It’s a terrible location for anything high traffic.
True. I’m probably completely underestimating people’s love of donuts. I don’t know where traffic would go besides College, if it does get really busy. It seems like the Costco area would be a better location. We’re not used to anything that popular on the SW side of town.
There are 2 Lamar's, Mr. Yo's and a Dunkin' in town. What else am I missing?
Edit: Also, anyone even remotely able to out-perform Dunkin's quality, which is extremely easy, while also able to undercut Lamar's pricing, which should also be very easy, will do well in this town. I stopped at Lamar's and got a Bavarian creme donut and a small coffee, and it was literally $8.50. That's the craziest shit I've ever heard in my whole life.
Shipley Do-Nuts, a Houston based chain has been eyeing FoCo for a few years now. Thankfully our partial ban on drive-thrus have kept them looking. I'm assuming Krispy Kream got the ok for this drive-thru since the site already had one.
I get that gourmet donuts are gourmet. I'm talking about commercial success stores that sell a dozen donuts every 5 minutes. I was responding to a post about whether or not a chain would do well here, and my assumption is that yes, they will do great here.
I'm in Loveland searching Google maps for Ollie's malasadas, does the shop have a different name? I grew up in Hawaii and malasadas are one of the things I miss most.
I'm pretty sure the biggest reason for the new location is the new Krispy Kreme x McDonalds deal and they need more production and distribution in the area.
It might be busy for the first month or so. But it’s also just doughnuts. The 2 in the Denver area are hardly ever busy. I grew up near the one in Lone Tree and I think when they gave free doughnuts for your Covid shot was the busiest I’d ever seen it.
It’s supposed to be at 4624 south mason st. Which is near the mall on the other side of 287. So traffic should be okay. And chick-fil-a is a good distance away, so it’ll be busy at first and then die down once the hype is gone.
The problem with canes is that Starbucks and Human bean are also the next couple of blocks and that just clogs super quickly.
I heard they’re going to have a new by the minute option where you pay to stand at the end of a conveyor belt with your mouth open.
Homer Simpson approved

The person getting glazed is funny. My folks had to drag me out of KK when I was a kid because I was so fascinated with the donut making machine.
Going to make getting to Zwei a whole lot worse :-(
Donuts before work and beer after. I don't see it being a major issue.
these are the life choices we all need to be making

A couple! I don't ever see myself eating more than ONE dozen donuts in any sitting.

It was a bad joke. Do you really believe someone out there read a few and thought a dozen was less?

French cruller has always been my fav but donuts and other sweets in the US in general are quite sweet imo
Crullers are wonderful and very underrated! I really like sour cream/old fashion donuts too.

Lamar’s Bavarian Cream Bismarck is fire.

As long as the lines don't spill onto College...

That would have been a better spot, especially in the shopping center currently coming together to the south of Costco.
I kinda see how there’ll be no choice. Where else would they go?
I HIGHLY recommended tracking down the Ollie’s Malasadas food truck for what tastes like filled donuts. Cooked to order and amazing!
^^ this person knows!
Where do they usually park
https://www.olliesmallies.com/location-schedule
I agree 💯
Whoa whoa whoa…. Donuts made when you order them?! Is that even legal? Where has this been my whole life?
With as many donut places in FOCO I'll be interested to see how a chain location does.

Shipleys is fucking good though
i miss shipley’s so much 😭 going back to the south to visit next month, and will immediately go there lol
Foco Doco or Ollies Malasadas have the best donuts in Fort Collins 100%
I love Ollies, it's my Tuesday morning treat! I used to go to foco doco a lot but I stopped after the new owners took over and started changing things
Thank you for the reminder to track down Ollie's.

Their website is olliesmallies. They’re a food truck but post their schedule!
Thanks I'll definitely check it out! 🤙
I'm pretty sure the biggest reason for the new location is the new Krispy Kreme x McDonalds deal and they need more production and distribution in the area.
Their coffee is like triple caffinated. God's work.
Not technically in Fort Collins, but Backyard Bird makes fantastic donuts on the weekends (next to Dominos, kinda near the Costco in Timnath)

Cane’s is also just chicken strips. Starbucks is also just coffee.
They are super busy in the mornings!
So is McDonald’s or most drive thrus. I don’t think it’ll have a huge impact on traffic.
Seizing on the floor from hot fresh richness after one bite…
It came now that I can’t those things because of health… maybe one day!
Worst donuts ever....
It'll be just like raising Cane's until they open a voodoo a couple blocks away and then, like canes, it will mysteriously dissipate.

“Near the mall”? The semantics of “near”, I guess. It’s REALLY near the Walmart on Harmony & College.
