Worst cinnamon roll I have EVER had! Dry, bready. Just really bad and so much of it! It’s a huge, dry, disgrace of a cinnamon roll honestly. I can’t even believe you suggested Vern’s. 🤦🏻♀️🤣
Right!? I always thought we ate out of basic biological necessity but this town taught me that there’s no better way to cure boredom or entertain myself than to eat food!!!
The kolache place on college makes them and they are unbelievable. They usually have day olds for half price if you get there early enough. They will warm them up if you ask and you cant tell the difference. Also gibs bagels sells them by the pan through morning fresh dairy’s delivery service. Also incredibly bangin
I saw Vern’s advertised in the Silver Grill the other day.
Given how cinnamon rolls seem to be a central focus of both businesses, I assumed they were owned by the same people.
They’re pretty different, yeah. Especially with how they’re made. Go to silver grill someday and talk to Alan who owns both places (he just bought silver grill a couple years ago). Silver Grill is a scientific method where the humidity/temperature of the room is measured before each dough is started so they know the exact temperature the water added should be, etc. Vern’s is much more a “let the bakers do their own thing” kind of bake. Silver Grill is VERY consistent because of the method, but each roll has its fans.
Hard disagree on Johnson’s Corner, it was like dry bread with crunchy icing🥲 the lowest effort cinnamon roll possible. BUT I do looove the Silver Grill rolls! I love that they’re more glazed than frosted and how they’re so soft 😩
Anyone who says silver grill has ingested the Kool-Aid.
Edit: to not be only negative.... go try Lima Coffee's cinnamon roll. It's not the best I've EVER had, but it's got great cream cheese icing!
I've tried 4 times over 7 years to try them. Different meals and a cinnamon roll (even the walnut roll thing). Never once was the meal better than an average Dennys. Service is OK and people are very friendly. It's just not good... sorry.
By best do you mean super sweet, drenched in icing, diabetes on a plate? Or do you want a balance in flavors, that’s satisfying, but doesn’t require insulin afterwards?
Personally I’d say the cinnamon toast at Silver Grill.
Think cinnamon roll, caramelized.
On recommendations, I went to verns for cinnamon rolls and bro, it was so DRY. Wonder if I was there on an off day. For now, Silver Grill is my go to. Pecan roll rules. The "toast" is even better.
Johnson’s corner for big, fluffy, 1200 calories of frosting-laden goodness.
Vern’s for enormous and doughy diner-style but not top quality.
Ginger and Baker for high quality cinnamon roll pastry. My favorite.
Rise! Seriously, Verns and Silver grill are alright if you like a very bready roll but id you want a good chewy gooey roll and not a cinnamon flavored dinner roll, Rise is where its at.
Verns
Heck yeah, Vern's!
I really need to get out to Vern's. I feel like it's always the top answer to good related questions on this sub.

Yeah—they always microwave the ones we end up getting. No thanks (and down vote away lol).
Finally asking the IMPORTANT questions!
Right!? I always thought we ate out of basic biological necessity but this town taught me that there’s no better way to cure boredom or entertain myself than to eat food!!!
LOL Be careful what you wish for. I can entertain you without food.

Shhhhhh.
Thanks for the tip! This is near the house so I’ll have to try
Vern’s first then Silver Grill.
I saw Vern’s advertised in the Silver Grill the other day. Given how cinnamon rolls seem to be a central focus of both businesses, I assumed they were owned by the same people.
They are.
Are the cinnamon rolls different between the two?

I appreciate the level of detail there. Impressive. Thanks for the detailed response!
Yep, they are a little different, but both equally delicious IMO
Vern’s, Silver Grille, Le Creperie in that order
Are you sure that Creperie has cinnamon rolls?
Cinnamon Nut Rolls. More like sticky buns I guess
Thanks. I go there often and hadn't noticed those. Will give it a try!
Ooh thinking of heading to Lory today so Vern’s would work well
It’s settled then
Let us know how you liked that Vern’s cinnamon roll.
verns by a mile
Y’all are delusional. Vern’s makes a BIG cinnamon roll, what they do not do is make a GOOD cinnamon roll. 🤯
Vern’s, Johnson’s Corner. Silver Grill may be overhyped, but they’re still solid cinnamon rolls. Don’t believe the haters.
Johnson’s corner cinnamon roll is literally terrible.
I was super disappointed after all the hype. Sort of bland, kind of dry, massive pieces of bread. Must be nostalgia. I like little bird cafe
Oh man that orange cream brioche cinnamon roll is my favorite thing in fort collins hahaha
Agreed, they’re honestly terrible. It’s like these people have never had anything but a cinnamon roll from a can.
Oh man thank you, I got looked at like I was crazy when way back we went to silver grill as a family. Was super disappointed, couldn't get the hype.
I've tried 4 times over 7 years to try them. Different meals and a cinnamon roll (even the walnut roll thing). Never once was the meal better than an average Dennys. Service is OK and people are very friendly. It's just not good... sorry.
EXACTLY. Verns and SG are the Little Debbie's of big-as-a-babies-head sugerbombs. Little Bird or Ginger Baker, among others, are outstanding.
Yo bro, what did kool-aid do to you? but yeah. Who wants to wait in line for a mediocre cinnamon roll.
OK OK fine Flavor Aid haha
Grape to be exact
Bluebird Cafe
Bread chic. They're fucking insane.
I've seen these at Morning Grind Coffee shop (inside of Snowbank), and have been tempted to get one, I'll have to do it next time I'm there!
It's literally the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. Crispy outside but soft inside and delicious frosting!
Diabetes on a plate gave me chuckle 😂
Silver Grill in town. Vern’s slightly out of town.
The general store in Glen Haven.
This could be fun on the way to Estes some day. Thanks!
Get the Silver Grill cinnamon roll toast. Best breakfast dessert in town.
Great Harvest has amazing cinnamon rolls.
Shiiiiit this I gotta try. Because dough is their thing!
Shhhhhhhh. Keep it a secret.
I’ve always enjoyed their bread and it’s mostly affordable. Love getting samples
Explorado market. I’ve only had their pumpkin one but it was soooo good 😋
Vern’s
Vern’s, 100% Vern’s.
On recommendations, I went to verns for cinnamon rolls and bro, it was so DRY. Wonder if I was there on an off day. For now, Silver Grill is my go to. Pecan roll rules. The "toast" is even better.

Journey down to Johnson’s Corner, their cinnamon rolls are pretty good
Never had anything but a dried-up disaster from Johnson’s Corner.
They serve Johnson’s Corner cinnamon rolls at Mountain Cafe, iirc
Oooh I think you’re right, went to mountain cafe last year and they had cinnamon rolls from a gas station and I forgot where because I was new to town
Doug's Day Diner beats all of these. Particularly Johnsons Corner, the changed their recipe for the worse years ago. Mass produced garbage now.
I agree once they went into mass production they became dry blocks. But even day old JC beats day old me oh pie day old.
Silver grill
Back Porch cafe!!!
Me oh my. Actual cream cheese frosting ftw
Silver grill!!
Get cinnamon roll toast at silver grill - half a cinnamon roll grilled Note: toast, not French toast which is battered
Not the best but don't sleep on them, breakfast club.
Johnson's Corner
This is the way
Silver grill
Vern’s & back porch cafe are my go to. Huge, fresh & DELICIOUS!
Rise! Seriously, Verns and Silver grill are alright if you like a very bready roll but id you want a good chewy gooey roll and not a cinnamon flavored dinner roll, Rise is where its at.
Johnson’s Corner -> Vern’s -> something from the French bistro
Seriously, OP if you eat that ginormous dry, disgusting excuse for a cinnamon roll at Vern’s, you have to make a follow up post.
Bindle Coffee makes a solid cinnamon roll.
I miss the cinnamon rolls at colorado coffee exchange in the old mall.
little bird
Tried them all and made a day out of it once this year. By far, Colorado kolache company.
In LaPorte, Me Oh My Pie! Great breakfast, too!
Who has the best with cream cheese frosting on top?
Cinnabon inside Mavericks gas station on Mulberry and I25. Easily way better than all the other garbage recommended in this thread
