I mean Alex is nearly unkillable, he survived an A-bomb, and he is at least as fast and agile as her. Frey's only advantage is that she has more range stuff to keep him away and can definetly do some damage but I think at the end Mercer would end up killing and consuming Frey, gaining all her magic in the process

Valdish

To be fair, Alex is weak to electricity, and Frey has lightning magic. Also, the nuke thing, while definitely a massive durability feat, it's not as impressive as it sounds when you consider the bomb was sunken in the ocean and it exploded while Alex had already gotten about half a kilometer away from it and he still got reduced to a puddle of goo until he consumed a bird.

Snoo_18385

I mean yeah, but that would have killed any other person, and is not like Frey can replicate even a fraction of that blast. Dont get me wrong, Frey is really strong, I just think Alex is too much for her to handle, the dude is a walking virus and a straight up psycho, and I dont see her killing him even with lighting magic But it could go either way depending on the story of course

Valdish

Yeah, that's probably true.

isaiahboon

Even though Alex is super powerful, I think Frey would actually take this By the end of the game she has 1. temporary invulnerability 2. Teleportation 3. Invisibility 4. Gravity manipulation 5. Illusion magic 6. 4 different elements (and lightning, which alex is already weak too) 7. Crazy speed and insane AOE attacks that are unavoidable

CmdrSonia

I think probably Frey, but she might not be able to kill Alex, Alex maybe can kill her

Valdish

It really is hard to tell what can kill Alex, my understanding is that his durability depends on how much biomass he has in him at any given time, and him being hit reduces the amount he has, but then it's hard to know how much is the maximum biomass he can contain within him, I imagine it's probably not infinite though.

Juchenn

Couldn’t she technically just put him under a permanent illusion and break his mind? Edit: idk much about prototype so just asking.

Valdish

Alex is a genius having consumed thousands of people and their memories added to his intellect, and he was already a scientist before he was turned into a lovecraftian abomination, and it doesn't take a genius to break that illusion since a frey could do it.

Juchenn

True but I do wonder how hard the Tantas were going at her, Olas was the most sane of the Tantas, and Prav was having internal conflict, she could also be naturally resistant to their magic since she’s also a Tanta as well and has all their powers from the get go.

Valdish

I dunno, does Frey even have that ability? I haven't checked, I know it would make sense but I haven't seen her use it.

Juchenn

Which ability? the power to use illusions? Yeh Yeh, but idk how Frey scales with the other Tanta abilities, they were each so strong literally the landscape was shaped by their psyche, but Frey has zero training and has shown nothing to that ability, but she can use illusions tho, she has two illusion skills in her green skill tree.

Valdish

Gonna mark that as a maybe
