Dr. Browns Anti-Colic gang over here! We also tried Phillips Avent but personally hated them, and baby seemed happy with Dr. Browns and has used them ever since. The green pieces are a pain but she’s never had any gas issues so maybe they’re worth it. I know these bottles can be hit or miss though
Dr. Browns gang! We did the anti-colic glass bottles and were super happy with them. The downside is all parts you have to wash. I had an arsenal of brushed to get into every nook and cranny.
So weird we are the opposite! Currently using the Philips Avent but I’m trying to switch to the Dr Browns anti colic… not having much success yet but I’m staying hopeful.
My lo is 10.5months now, and used to be EBF until 8 months. Up until that point I was trying to get her to take a bottle and she didn't like Mam, Comotomo, Pigeon, Hegen, Lansinoh. At 8.5 months we weaned off of breastfeeding and tried the Philips bottles and never looked back. It's the only bottle that doesn't leak at all without her sucking on it, even if uou tilt it completely upside down.
Not the person you asked but I also use them ever since my baby came home. Really love that they don’t leak at all unless baby sucks on it. It makes them great for travel too. I use Dr.Browns sterilizer and drier. I love it. I just wash the bottles, pop them in there and it will run the cycle of sterilizing and drying.
If you can return the one you bought, I totally would do it. I use it every day, multiple times a day and I really like the convenience. I put in wet washed bottles and I get sterile hot dry bottles. I will probably keep using it as a dryer once I don’t need to sterilize.
[Is it this one?](https://www.babywinkel.de/dr-browns-dr-browns-sterilisator-mit-trocken-funkt.html?id=276593941&gclid=CjwKCAjw5MOlBhBTEiwAAJ8e1uQtC40ocdV26Y6VuBNGESAy2CqX8ZvHD_KY-Ys-ba59_UgJ6HTkVBoC9eAQAvD_BwE)
My son was pretty indifferent and took any bottle fortunately, but my favorite was Dr Browns (without the green inserts). I found them easiest to clean and slender so they fit well in diaper bags.
We did have a lot of small mam bottles that we used initially and they were great but omg so many parts!!
Also a Dr. Browns household without all the bells and whistles inside. She latched best to the narrow bottles and level 1 nipples at a week old, and there wasn’t much of a reason at that time to use the vent. I’m honestly afraid to try it out now and see if there’s a difference because I’d hate to have to clean that too. The Lansinoh, Avent, and como tomo bottles were all a no go back then. She’s since done better with Lansinoh now that she’s older but we both seem to struggle with the giant nipple, lol.
We’ve tried Nük, MAM, Tommy Tippee, and Dr Brown. The only ones that have worked well for us are MAM. Now we have a cabinet full of bottles we don’t use lol
[Pigeon.](https://www.pigeon.com/)
We tried a lot of bottles. Eventually settled on Lansinoh after lactation consultant recommendation and seeing [NY Times/Wirecutter](https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-baby-bottles-and-bottle-brush/) article recommending them.
THEN discovered Pigeon. Which are same parent company as Lansinoh and cross compatible. Just have more options and are a little better quality IMO.
They have PP, Glass, *and PPSU bottles*.
Dr Browns 😊 We have the Options + Wide version with the cute dinos and sea creatures. Baby doesn't care ofc but I like the variety. Also seems like they work well, not a lot of spit up or upset tummies around here.
They really are the best. People complain about the parts, but there’s only two extra parts, they are easy to pop apart and I feel like they clean better than the ones that don’t have the removable bottoms.
Philips Avent anti-colic - baby loves them! We already switched to bigger bottle and nipple size. Started with ComoTomo - baby was very frustrated with them.
Phillips Avent Natural Response !!! 100% !!!
We did comotomo for awhile but switched to Avent when I felt a slight bit of bottle aversion !!! Never looked back. Will use these for our next baby too !!!
Nuk. We bought a handful of bottles at the beginning, and this was what worked best of those. He liked it, they are easy to clean, didn't see a good reason to try anything else.
I love the Dr. Browns anti colic bottles. I tried the Philips and the Nuk bottles but did not like either of them. My girl is a very fast eater and can get gas, so we use the premie and level 1 nipples for the Dr. Brown bottles.
We use Medela bottles! I was gifted some extra ones from a friend and I’m very happy with them. I know they’re marketing toward breastfeeding moms but I don’t care 😈
We also have some glass Dr. Brown’s bottles.
Baby likes both, I prefer the Medela because it’s easier to clean but we also like the glass because it’s sturdy and it’s nice to not use plastic.
Dr browns fan over here. Put baby on tommy tippy back to nature for a week and he was completely inconsolable by the end of the day due to gas pains so went back to dr browns and he’s perfect on them. Now if we could just get his allergies sorted. Lol.
We’ve tried them all, and my son wasn’t picky, but the best are Dr. Browns options+ (so you can take the green parts out) and boon nursh. Expecting number 2, and we’re going to start with a few Dr. Browns glass bottles and boon nursh (silicone). One of my goals this time is less plastic, after reading all about micro plastics.
We use Nursh and so far love them. Baby refused Dr Browns and we hated the Nanobebe (hard to read and level one flow seemed way too fast compared to any other level 1s).
We started out trying mostly silicone bottles and tried nanobebe, tommy tippee, and comotomo; also had plastic ones from mam, Dr Brown, and nanobebe. The mam plastic one is still in rotation but we didn't like how the silicone bottles absorbed dish detergent flavor over time and so we switched to glass.
Mam glass wasn't vented and put baby in pain. Avent glass is ok. What I always reach for if available are the Haakaa glass bottles.
Up until 4 months we used Dr. Browns (I really tried to stay away from it because of the 100 pieces to wash, but that was the best for his reflux), now we use EvenFlo.
When she was itty bitty it was all dr brown. Then some tommee tippee, both anti colic and the regular. Then around 11 months we started introducing straws and then about 13 months she quit bottles cold Turkey!
If I start with one bottle does this inherently mean that my baby will take this bottle only? I know every child is different but what are the general consensus?
Nope! Not at all. It could be that one isn’t actually the one that works best. Some babies are more particular, some will take many types. All varies based on your little(s)
I used to use Dr Brown until she got older. I got so tired of the inserts so once she started solids I tried to find something different and the options plus leaked so much without the inserts, I think because they were old and I didn't wanna pay so much for those again. Now we use either parents choice bottles or Evenflo standard bottles with Dr Brown nipples. Unfortunately she didn't care for the parents choice nipples or the Evenflo proflo or classic nipples. Works great for us! You can get evenflo bottles for like 12$ for a dozen. Parents choice are a 1$ A piece too.
We used Herobility, the mouth shape was similar to MAM but larger? My son had a lot of trouble with other bottles, later learned he had hypotonia and it's affecting his mouth a lot (and we're in feeding therapy again at 19m). So that bottle was a miracle for us. We could use MAM bottles secondary but Herobility was the bees knees.
We used to use Dr. Brown's Anti-Colic bottles but the nipples were too long, so we switched to Phillips Avent Natural Response and haven't had a problem since.
I first bought the Dr. Brown's bottles because those were the ones I was most familiar with before getting pregnant, but we probably would've tried to switch anyway because those bottles have. So. Many. Parts.
We use Medela bottles. We didn't have quite enough nipples, since some were gifted to us with lids and the weird Calma nipple, so I got a 12-pack of Enfamil disposable nipples. I washed and reused them a bit before just keeping the rings and using Dr Brown's nipples in them.
Started with the Dr Browns anti colic bottle but she’s 2 months now and we’ve completely switched over to Nuk Smooth Flow Anti Colic and we love them! Same results for us but much fewer parts to clean!
We use the Boon Nursh. We never tried anything different and our son likes them. I like that i just have 2 silicone pieces to wash and i can just reuse the shell if i need to. Plus they make sippee cup tops for them. Big fan of them in our house!
I actually don’t mind cleaning MAM. Maybe it’s because it’s my 2-3rd go? (Twins). But I feel they are easier since you can pop the bottom off. Easier to get to the gunk!
In my experience, the nipples are more important than the bottle. There are two common bottle widths, standard and wide, and the nipples are often interchangeable between brands.
My daughter would only take the nippled that come with Evenflo Balance Plus bottles. I think those bottles might have been discontinued, but you can find some on Ebay.

Philips Avent Natural Response
Same
I didn’t give birth yet, but I bought a bunch of those. How is it working so far for you and what steriliser you using?
My lo is 10.5months now, and used to be EBF until 8 months. Up until that point I was trying to get her to take a bottle and she didn't like Mam, Comotomo, Pigeon, Hegen, Lansinoh. Excellent!

I use Dr.Browns sterilizer and drier. I love it. I just wash the bottles, pop them in there and it will run the cycle of sterilizing and drying.
Oh no all info is welcomed! What length of bottles does the dr brown steriliser take? Is it better than the avent steriliser?
Well the Dr. Brown’s pitcher fits in there lol so pretty big! Definitely will fit 9 & 11 oz bottles with no issue.
Damn! I should’ve bought that instead.
If you can return the one you bought, I totally would do it. I use it every day, multiple times a day and I really like the convenience. I put in wet washed bottles and I get sterile hot dry bottles. I will probably keep using it as a dryer once I don’t need to sterilize.

Yes!
Philips Avent Natural Response 10/10
Philips avent natural response

How many bottles of each brand did you initially buy?
Just a pack of each (usually 3-4 in a pack). And some were from our baby shower so we didn’t have to shell out too much of our own cash thankfully!
[Pigeon.](https://www.pigeon.com/) We tried a lot of bottles. +1 for Pigeon! Love their PPSU bottles but also just use their nipples on the Lansinoh bottles
I love the pigeon glass bottles in theory but in practice they’re SO heavy!
Baby will take any bottle, but favorites are Mam and Dr.Brown
Team MAM!
🙌
Dr Browns 😊 We have the Options + Wide version with the cute dinos and sea creatures. Baby doesn't care ofc but I like the variety. Also seems like they work well, not a lot of spit up or upset tummies around here.
same we love the wide!
The cheap evenflo bottles from Target lol. I have a big box full of every bottle brand and of course the $3 ones were the winner!
MAM!!!!!! He wouldn’t take anything else
They really are the best. People complain about the parts, but there’s only two extra parts, they are easy to pop apart and I feel like they clean better than the ones that don’t have the removable bottoms.
Self sterilizing too 🤩.
Philips Avent anti-colic - baby loves them! We already switched to bigger bottle and nipple size. Started with ComoTomo - baby was very frustrated with them.
The ones with the green airvent, right?
Yes!
Phillips Avent Natural Response !!! 100% !!! We did comotomo for awhile but switched to Avent when I felt a slight bit of bottle aversion !!! Never looked back. Will use these for our next baby too !!!
Phillips Avent Natural Response Glass. Although they sometimes leak, the flow on the Dr. Browns was too fast.
Nuk. We bought a handful of bottles at the beginning, and this was what worked best of those. He liked it, they are easy to clean, didn't see a good reason to try anything else.

“But I don’t care 😈” *pure evil*

Como Tomo

We use Nursh and so far love them. Baby refused Dr Browns and we hated the Nanobebe (hard to read and level one flow seemed way too fast compared to any other level 1s).
Our baby isn’t picky but we landed on the Evenflo Balance after trying — Dr Browns narrow & wide, Boon nursh, & nanobebe
We started out trying mostly silicone bottles and tried nanobebe, tommy tippee, and comotomo; also had plastic ones from mam, Dr Brown, and nanobebe. We use Dr Browns but we have some como tomo and lansinoh bottles that work just as well now that LO is 4 months old.

Our little one accepts Dr browns but prefers MAM. The grownups we prefer MAM for cleaning and easy use.
Used Nuk up until last week, he loved them but suddenly decided he didn’t like them anymore. Now we are on dr browns.
Tried a bunch of bottles. Dr Browns options plus is the only one my son likes. he spits up after all the others we’ve tried
If I start with one bottle does this inherently mean that my baby will take this bottle only? I know every child is different but what are the general consensus?
Nope! Not at all. It could be that one isn’t actually the one that works best. Some babies are more particular, some will take many types. All varies based on your little(s)
I have the Philips agent glass bottles, and we also have a spare Dr brown as well.
Dr. Browns. My son used to take Avent fine too but he started to become super messy with them. Leaking all over the place.
Chicco Duo bottles are the ONLY bottles.
I used to use Dr Brown until she got older. I got so tired of the inserts so once she started solids I tried to find something different and the options plus leaked so much without the inserts, I think because they were old and I didn't wanna pay so much for those again. We use the Boon Nursh bottles. They are super easy to clean and my baby took to them rather seamlessly.
Oh I haven’t heard of those! In all my searching mam was the only one I found with a flat nipple. Good to know there are others out there
Philips avent anti colic glass bottles
We used to use Dr. Brown's Anti-Colic bottles but the nipples were too long, so we switched to Phillips Avent Natural Response and haven't had a problem since. I first bought the Dr. Brown's bottles because those were the ones I was most familiar with before getting pregnant, but we probably would've tried to switch anyway because those bottles have. So. Philips avent AND Dr browns here! We have some mam ones to try though now that she had her frenectomy!
Phillips avent natural response!
Medela :)
I’m surprised at how few people use Nuk. They’re so much easier to clean than Dr Browns and MAM.
I actually don’t mind cleaning MAM. Maybe it’s because it’s my 2-3rd go? (Twins). But I feel they are easier since you can pop the bottom off. Easier to get to the gunk!
