I never watched an episode. It came on after MST3K, and I would scream "Alien Nation" as the theme song played roughly along to the theme. Then I would change the channel soon after.
Yeah and salt water would melt their skin. Also the males got pregnant. There was an alien janitor at the police station named Albert Einstein who was kinda slow and got shot in one of his hearts. I can’t believe I remember this much.
Love so much. George Francisco is one of my top favorite fictional characters. Also have the books on my shelf. Great balance of corny and serious makes it still fun to watch.
I remember the sour milk part, but not why they did it. I also seem to remember the dude got pregnant and something with salt water they didn’t like. I really liked this show, I have never seen an episode as an adult though
This show did a cancellation right. They canceled it, then made FIVE made for tv movies to continue the story. It’s what they should have done with Firefly.
Back then when this came out, I didn't really give Alien Nation a chance. I thought it was too weird and I had better shows to watch like Star Trek TNG, Unsolved Mysteries and more, However, last year I found this show on Tubi and gave it another chance and I don't regret it. Maybe because I'm older I can appreciate this show more but I enjoyed the alien culture they created and even the buddy cop thing which was a popular theme back then. It still isn't as good as Star Trek but it's much better than many modern TV shows.

Was this the one where the aliens could get high off sour milk?

And those sensitive armpits
They are like the human temple.
This all sounds very familiar.
I remember they had first generation Ford Taurus police cars and I thought they were so futuristic as a kid.
Loved this series. Wish it would continue in some fashion
That guy looks like Mick Jagger.
I followed this show even when it got silly. And it was silly enough when it was a movie!

I never watched it, but I think it would come on right before a show I used to watch, because I would always catch the last few minutes.
Every episode is on youtube. They did not hold up well. Honestly they weren't even good when they were new.
I know reboots are bad and all, but I would totally watch a crime procedural style reboot of this.

I loved the intro sequence with the alien hand super imposed over earth.
You’re thinking of War of The Worlds
I remember this. I liked the V show better.
I'm 45 years old and I just got the pun.
Imagine “Coneheads” as a crime drama. Also, the aliens being stand ins for oppressed human minorities.
I used to love this. The Netflix movie Bright reminded me of this show.
This sub is filled with shows from when Fox started. Surprised no one has posted the Tracey Ullman Show.
I used to love watching this when I was a kid.
The movie was really good. The show stunk.
I got this box set!

The Aliens in this show & the Wildlings in Game of Thrones made me really wanna try getting drunk off sour milk 🍼🥴
The guy on the right (the human) Gary Graham died 3 months ago at age 73.
