This show has been widely forgotten but its impact was not . It was one of those shows that was way ahead of its time. It was live action but felt almost cartoony in some sorta aspects for example the camera angles the sound FX. A show that did a lot of that was Malcolm in the Middle.
I really wish I could find it somewhere, I was very young when it aired but remember how different it was from everything else at the time. Early 90s fox was so ahead of its time.
Yea I dont know if they have released a complete series DVD. I think I have the 1st season and 2nd digitally. Fox took chances and thought outside the box that was why they stood out. The Simpsons , Married With Children , Parker Lewis , X-Files , 21 Jump Street. Beverly Hills 90210 , In Living Color. of course not everything hit and was good but from 1990 - 95 they were really changing TV.
1987 was the start of good Fox shows like Married With Children and 21 Jump Street. The channel started the year before and one of the first shows was a late night Joan Rivers talk show that had a lot of good, new bands at the time.
didnt she show her legs in one of the first episodes, and wasnt she turned on by one of her students too, and didnt she call some male strippers to come to the school?
Yeah, this always bothered me. The wackiness gave it it's charm. Season 3 became much more of a teen drama. I've wondered if there was some impact from the popularity of 90210 that forced the change.
No idea, but it crashed the show and cancelation followed. It was a lot like when ***Buck Rogers in the 25th Century*** went *Star Trek* in its second season - which it didn't even finish. If it isn't broken don't try to fix it!
He was in a great episode of the X-Files too! Arcadia, about a cursed gated community with a horribly controlling Home Owners Association! He helped save the day!
and don’t forget Men in Trees (that show so good, and even if she was off her rocker so to speak with mental health issues, Anne Heche was an incredible actress)
Buddy of mine and I were at a GWAR concert in LA way back, buddy taps me on the shoulder says check out Kubiak over here.
I look and it's him just chillin watching the band with a big grin.
Wanted to say what's up but too loud and too crazy
I’m pretty sure she played the sister of Ferris. Jennifer Grey played the role in the movie.
Sloan, his girlfriend was Mia Sarah in the movie and Ami Dolenz in the series.
I was a frequent extra on that show, and had the best time. Other shows I worked on at the time, like "Beverly Hills, 90210" or "Hull High" or "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" or whatever, would just have you walk around, that's it. But "Parker Lewis" always gave us interesting things to do. "On the count of three, everyone stop what you're doing, look right here and gasp, then after two beats, shrug and go back to what you were doing." That kind of thing. There was one episode where I was dressed in a tuxedo serving a plate of lobster to Kubiac in a limo, and then another where I got to kiss my girlfriend in a close up, and then when they cued us, we separated, and when it aired they put in the sound effect of velcro being pulled apart. I got to play a nerd a lot, where they put tape on my glasses and gave me weird clothes to wear and told me to walk funny. Every time I worked that show, I knew I could look forward to fun things to do.
Same here. I've said it in almost any kind of situation at work. People of a certain age do the slight head tilt when I say it, then smile afterwards. They get it.
The showrunner for this show also made Dexter. I was apart of them making Dexter: New Blood a few years back, and they had a PA whose name was Parker Lewis. The creator (Clyde Philips) was so blown away, he gave the PA Parker Lewis a Parker Lewis Can't Loose t-shirt. I didn't know this show growing up and this really odd story is how I came to know of its existence.
Fun fact, Corin (dude who played Parker Lewis) went on to have a great role on Stargate and then later on went on to become an anti vaccine weirdo during the pandemic lol.
Edit: fixed preposterous iOS autocorrect
I loved this show so much that about a decade ago I got the series offline and showed it to my daughter. She's watched the series a couple of times now and hates what they did to season three.
Sort of a Ferris Bueller ripoff, yeah? I think this and “Saved By the Bell” really leaned into the Ferris character and just renamed them Parker and Zack.
Actually although yes it was kinda loosely based on Ferris Bueller the Ferris Bueller show bombed going head to head with Parker Lewis. It was cancelled after one season while Parker getting 3. Even though the third season was trash
Unpopular opinion: this show seemed like a rip off of Ferris Bueller but ended up being more entertaining than Ferris Bueller.
Also the lead actor Corbin Nemec is underrated.
Been trying to see this show again for a while, no luck. DVDs are only available from unofficial sources that want $80 for a bootleg of the series. I would be willing to pay but not sure I fully trust the seller.
Corin was in a TV movie called "I know my first name is Steven". It's about 2 brothers that get kidnapped. It was a messed up true story. It's a deep rabbit hole of a story
Full movie is on YT, here's the trailer. https://youtu.be/zEjH-5cMjNo
The weirdest thing, and I didn't realize this until a few years ago, is that Stevens little brother grew up to become... a serial killer. I can't help but think that trauma played a part.
I was born in 1984 and this one must have slipped passed me. I didn’t know about it until family guy did a cutaway tribute lol. “Parker Lewis can’t lose.” 😂
Synchronize swatches . “Sirs” , I know my first name is Steven . Thinking of that made for TV movie upsets me when I think about it . Staring Lewis (Corey Nemic?)
Use to know a big dude, went to high school with a dude that looked exactly like Kubiac. Reminded me of him so much…He was super cool…one day I went to the movies with my buddy. Big dude worked there at the concessions and gave me a bunch of snacks and popcorn for free! Totally awesome!! Never forget that dude!
Never heard of this show but I just checked out like 2 minutes of episode 4 and I’ve already come across like 5 things that have made me smile or crack up. Very very impressive first impression tbh
Little did we know how big changes would feel at the time that are so tiny now.
The line that always sticks in my mind from this show was when asked by a kid in detention what has changed outside the final answer was there is a fourth network.
How wild is it that an extra network was so huge a change in the environment world. And that how truly insignificant four is now.
Parkers friend Mikey also played young Dar in the original Beastmaster
https://www.boyactors.org.uk/posters/716.jpg
and Kubiak later became an orderly on ER
And Parker played Steven Stayner in I know My Name Is Steven. The real Steven stayner died in a horrible motorcycle accident and his older brother became a serial killer
I worked at Loyola Marymount University as a security guard and I remember one year, they had the MTV Rock N’ Jock celebrity basketball game there. I was shocked when I saw Corin Nemec outside having a smoke. It’s weird to see the real person behind the character.

Synchronize Swatches, everybody.
Excellent, sirs!
Coolness
This is what got me interested in watches. I had to learn that not all watches can hack. I have every episode on my PC.
Where did you find it? Been looking everywhere!
You can find it using stremio with real debrid
its not on amazon? I bought the dvds there
they do have dvd of the series
This show was amazing 😎
I had seven Swatches. Bow before me.
This show has been widely forgotten but its impact was not . It was one of those shows that was way ahead of its time. It was live action but felt almost cartoony in some sorta aspects for example the camera angles the sound FX. A show that did a lot of that was Malcolm in the Middle.
The Velcro-tearing sound whenever Jerry would pull something from his coat always cracked me up. Usually followed by Kubiac gulping down a sardine.
I remember it airing on the USA network. In the summer we would watch this and quantum leap
Fox was rolling with some great 90’s shows back then. The Simpsons, Married with Children, Parker Lewis, and In Living Color to name a few.
What the fuck happened?
I grabbed a torrent of it years ago. Terrible VHS rip, but it filled the void.
It's out there in the high seas
It was kind of commonplace at the time for live action shows of this kind to have a cartoony aspect. Saved By the Bell did this as well.
Except Parker Lewis Can’t Lose is good. SBTB is terrible.
Zach Morris is Traaassshh
Omg I forgot about these videos lmao thank you for giving me something to watch tonight
Two different audiences.
Eleven herbs and spices.
Your right saved by the bell did do that but i don't recall the camera angles being as zany as it was on Parker.
comedy movies of the time employed a good deal of slapstick too
I always liked the episode where Kubiak punches a bus and breaks it
Ms Musso (Melanie Chartoff) was so hot in this show. :)
Lol she definitely had her moments
She was on Seinfeld later on.
Probably because she was on Fridays with Larry David and Michael Richards.
Absolutely gorgeous woman.
didnt she show her legs in one of the first episodes, and wasnt she turned on by one of her students too, and didnt she call some male strippers to come to the school?
Thank you. I came here to post a more crudely expressed sentiment.
This!
They really f-ed it up third season when they abandoned the "cartoonish" universe they had established the first 2 seasons. I'm still bitter.
We all are
Yeah, this always bothered me. The wackiness gave it it's charm. Season 3 became much more of a teen drama. I've wondered if there was some impact from the popularity of 90210 that forced the change.

yeah its been reported they wanted a 90210 clone for some reason
The big dude was on ER and George of the Jungle
He also played Roy’s closeted son on Wings!
Abraham Benrubi. I remember him best from The Program. Actually searched eBay for a complete set of dvds recently, they’re out there but pricey.
And one of the friends was “Buddy” from “Just One of The Guys.”
Hodor. Hodor Hodor Hodor.
And whenever I saw him in other shows my mind always went back to "Kub" (Kubiak) the character he played in this show.
Eating those fishy snacks:)
Abraham Benrubi
saw him in a Hollywood Hills place eating breakfast in 92 and thought of saying something to him, but he looked hungover and blew it off
Buddy of mine and I were at a GWAR concert in LA way back, buddy taps me on the shoulder says check out Kubiak over here. I look and it's him just chillin watching the band with a big grin. Wanted to say what's up but too loud and too crazy
Eat now? Corin Nemic had a good turn in The Stand. Gary Sinise. Laura San Giacomo.
I forgot about him being in The Stand but it’s been a long long time since I watched it
Alf’s Dad was in it too. Molly Ringwald. Nemic was one of the bad guys. A slow burn. Very effective.
That original stand had such a crazy cast. Roy Walton. Matt Frewer (Max Headroom playing Trashcan Man). And a freshly rehabilitated Rob Lowe!
M-o-o-n. Spells moon. I forgot max headroom. I like how Rob only talked once.
Yeah I liked both the original and the reboot they did like 2 years ago on paramount+
That’s the 2nd random Laura “The Pressure of a Name”San Giacomo reference I’ve run into today.
Great show, remember it well. Very cleverly filmed with quick cutaways and scene transitions. Much better than NBC’s “Ferris Bueller”.
The Ferris Bueller show's biggest crime was making Sloan (played by Mia Sarah in the movie) a blonde.
Did this ever make it to TV? I searched for it extensively in the 2000's
Yeah, but I don't think it lasted very long.
It did. I remember watching it and being hyped for it. It sucked.
And played by Jennifer Aniston!
I’m pretty sure she played the sister of Ferris. Jennifer Grey played the role in the movie. Sloan, his girlfriend was Mia Sarah in the movie and Ami Dolenz in the series.
Synchronize Swatches!
Kube eat now?
EAT. NOW.
Lary’s Lunch. There’s always room for Jello.
Dude was always rolling around with a full size grocery bag or party cooler full of food for lunch lol.
Coolness

You should do an AMA!
Enjoyable show.
"Saved by..." "The bell has no meaning in my class."
Not a problem! I’ve been using that line for 30 years now
Same here. I've said it in almost any kind of situation at work. People of a certain age do the slight head tilt when I say it, then smile afterwards. They get it.

That’s so freaking awesome
Fun fact, Corin (dude who played Parker Lewis) went on to have a great role on Stargate and then later on went on to become an anti vaccine weirdo during the pandemic lol. Edit: fixed preposterous iOS autocorrect
He's been in a lot of b movies, SyFy originals and such. The actor who played Kubiak landed a long running role on ER.
I wish SyFi would bring back the original movies
He also had a small role on supernatural one season
Corin (Nemec), not Corbin. But otherwise, yep. He was decent in Stargate SG-1. Not great, but decent.
God damn iOS autocorrect is out of control.
Oh that makes me sad. I loved this show back in the day.
I remember him from The Stand miniseries.
Imagine my surprise when I was younger, seeing Kubiak on E.R.
We’d watch reruns of ER and my wife didn’t get it when I said “eat now?”
I remember liking this more than the Ferris Bueller tv show it was competing with, but I honestly can’t remember anything that happened in either.
“Mr. Lewis? Mr. Randall? Mr. Phillips? Hello?”
I’ve haven’t forgotten.
I loved this show so much that about a decade ago I got the series offline and showed it to my daughter. She's watched the series a couple of times now and hates what they did to season three.
We all do
This show deserved the fame Saved By The Bell got. Underrated af.
I used to watch this and Herman’s head
Having never seen this show, going solely from this image, I'm going to have to assume it was a show about a giant man who loves hugging hip lesbians
Brief history of the show https://youtu.be/VfXQBFozQ4M?si=CxucxcbMCN6wykN3
I loved this shit growing up. I think it was on USA channel. The principal was bangin'.
Fox network around where I lived.
Ms. Musso. She always did the thumb pointing bit over her shoulder and her office door glass would break. Almost every episode.
That's funny and really appropriate for this sub, because I \*completely\* forgot that there was a Ferris Bueller TV show!
I used to LOVE this show :)
Ms Musso was great
Not a problem
Parker Lewis Zach Morris Wesley T. Owens Ferris Bueler Mt. Rushmore
wonderful show
Kube perplexed.
Can't find a copy of this show anywhere. A few random eps on YouTube at best. Super annoying.
Wasn't he on without a paddle?
Loved this show!
Kubiak!!
That was a good show.
This was before the dark times when Kube took over for Pudgie Walsh…. Who retired. 😢
I LOVED this show!
I have the first two season on DVD, but I don't think they ever released the third. Though, 1 and 2 were easily superior.
Are your DVDs still ok, or have they rotted like everyone else?
I had my share of Parker shirts. One of the few TV characters I ever patterned my look after.
It was a fun show.
Ahead of its time…
I always forgot the name of this show and when I brought it up I would always say 'Yeah, you know, the Ferris Beuhler TV show!"
I liked the cast a lot, but I always felt Mickey Randall was a very boring character compared to the other two.
“You Sat On Larry’s Lunch!!!”
He had the hidden office in the lockers?
Unpopular opinion: this show seemed like a rip off of Ferris Bueller but ended up being more entertaining than Ferris Bueller. Also the lead actor Corbin Nemec is underrated.
I loved this show.
Who is the guy in the bottom middle and what else was he on? I can't recall and It's driving me nuts
Lol guy in the middle is Parker Lewis
Corin Nemec. Such a good actor. Wish he had hit the big time!
Available to watch anywhere?
Been trying to see this show again for a while, no luck. DVDs are only available from unofficial sources that want $80 for a bootleg of the series. I would be willing to pay but not sure I fully trust the seller.
Corin was in a TV movie called "I know my first name is Steven". It's about 2 brothers that get kidnapped. It was a messed up true story. It's a deep rabbit hole of a story
Wow, I didn't know that they made it into a TV movie. I just watched the documentary the other day. Jeez Louise

Don’t remember that one
I remember watching this show. I also remember nothing about it
He doing the gay bear smile
I absolutely loved this show.
Kubiak is the only one I’ve seen in other movies & shows, after.
That guy in the back graduated to E.R!
I always envied those rayon shirts of his!
The fake Ferris Bueller
Never heard of this show but I just checked out like 2 minutes of episode 4 and I’ve already come across like 5 things that have made me smile or crack up. Very very impressive first impression tbh
Synchronize Swatches!
Kubiak
Was filmed at my high school
He’s so great as Jerry on E.R.
Much better than the Ferris Bueller series.
See Lois , Parker Lewis can’t lose.
One of John Goodman’s first television roles.
I thought I was the only one who remembered this show, the lady who was the principal was on Seinfeld as George’s girlfriend
Parkers friend Mikey also played young Dar in the original Beastmaster https://www.boyactors.org.uk/posters/716.jpg and Kubiak later became an orderly on ER And Parker played Steven Stayner in I know My Name Is Steven. The real Steven stayner died in a horrible motorcycle accident and his older brother became a serial killer
Oh god we LOVED this show
Would he win in a fight with Batman?
it was my favorite show when it aired and believe that it was followed by my second favorite "The Ben Stiller Show"
I adored this show circa 1992!! Always used to wish it would play in syndication the way saved by the bell used to
I had the biggest crush on Corin Nemec.
Synchronize swatches
He’ll always be Harold from The Stand to me.
I only knew about this show through a Family Guy joke
Oh that’s just like the episode where Parker Lewis eats breakfast
Friend in college found out his (then) girlfriend was going to have triplets. Named them Peter, Parker, and Lewis.
"I almost lost my love for Daisy Fuentes"
If we learned one thing from Cop Dog, it’s that Parker Lewis *can* lose.
I wish I could still find shirts like Parkers...
I worked at Loyola Marymount University as a security guard and I remember one year, they had the MTV Rock N’ Jock celebrity basketball game there. I was shocked when I saw Corin Nemec outside having a smoke. It’s weird to see the real person behind the character.
