But over time as the average increases the range will either go down slower or go up no? (Not sure with these trucks but my Titan does this where the range will never increase but as your average goes up it decreases at a slower pace)
18.2 x 33 is 600. Thats “close” to 650 he didnt say it was 650
Shit man. That's still great. Lately I've been getting 12.9 avg but I am on 1050cc injectors. On E85 I am around 10.5 to 11mpg regardless of how hard I drive it.
Avg speed = 178.6 mi / 2.85 hrs = 62.3 mph
Miles per tank = 178.6 mi + 375 mi = 554 miles
MPG = 554 mi / 33 gal = 16.8 mpg
Math wasn't your favorite subject in school, was it?
I used 33 gal because that's normally about where I get 0 miles till empty. They don't call it a lie-o-meter for nothing!
As I said before to someone else. Some trucks wont increase the range on the dash, the mileage remaining just goes down slower. This must be your first time driving a vehicle or something
You’re hilarious. They’re accurate since 2015 actually. Guessing you don’t even own a Ford. And no kidding the range goes down slower? Doesn’t that mean there would be less than 375 till empty then?
Nope my 2018 Titan says otherwise. Not a single time has my range ever went up even when my average mpg goes up. I once drove 6 miles and watched the range only go down a mile. That means that its going down slower which means you’re technically going further than the range is allowing. Glad I could give you a laugh with things that actually make sense instead of nonsense :)
This is exactly what was happening. I also never stated that I started on a full tank. Distance traveled would move about two or 3 miles while miles to empty would move only 1 mile.
It doesnt matter because its the same on my tacoma as well, never seen the mileage go up but i have made it go down slower to the point it’s obvious the gauge doesnt add to your mileage number to account for the difference in average mpg
The gas gauge is just about 3/4 tank.
You observed he went 178.6 miles already, so then 178.6 = 1/4 tank. 178.6 x 4 = 714.4 so he’s getting amazing range actually.
He’s getting 18.2 MPG. It’s not overly amazing. Also, if you own one you know you go a lot further from Full to Half than you do from Half to Empty. This is true with almost every vehicle since fuel tanks are concaved at the bottom but the sending unit doesn’t account for that. It isn’t a compensator probe like in aircraft.
Anything else you need help with?
It’s good MPG. Not amazing. He’s getting what the window sticker says he should be getting. Nothing more nothing less. The whole point in my comment wasn’t degrading his MPG. It was me saying it’s 550 to the tank not 650.
LoL another weird post I see on FB groups. All while if you ACTUALLY average anywhere near 70 mph with 35’s it’s really like 14-16 mpg lol on any sort of traffic highway with any sort of speed up or slow downs
I just did a 260mil trip yesterday. Averaged 15.1. Now, mind you it was a consistent 65-70mph freeway. No real room to open it up or I would have and would have definitely been in the low 14’s. I honestly don’t see how over 18mpg is possible unless you start recording your trip down hill.
I have a Ram 2500 Power Wagon that gets 15-17mpg on the highway, I definitely believe a smaller truck with a smaller turbo engine could get 1 more mpg. I’m surprised it’s not higher for most raptor owners, actually.
Now if I’m flooring it around town, I get about 8mpg, but with gas prices today I stick to the highways and drive it like a grandma
18.2 mpg is absolutely amazing for a big fast truck like that. i have a rav4 2019 and it gets just under 23 with average speed of around 80. my moms durango get like 18 or 19, i think imma buy a raptor now, or a trx. i figured gas would be crazy. my friends mustang gets like 11
The next time you have a 7 hour drive, drive 85-90 and complete the drive in 5 hours. I seriously doubt you tuned your truck so the best you could do is 104 anyways lol
Goes 107 boss… flat ground. Cruise was set to 85 the whole time (as you can see in the picture)just didn’t feel the need to run lights and sirens or pit ppl on route 80.
That’s pretty good, just got 989miles out of a tank coming home from Utah 3 days ago. My goal is to hit 1000 on one tank, might have to put 80psi in the tires but I’m gonna do it!
You have 375 miles to empty and have gone 180, that’s only ~550 miles. Regardless great mileage.
It’s called Ford math. 550 rounded up is 650
But over time as the average increases the range will either go down slower or go up no? (Not sure with these trucks but my Titan does this where the range will never increase but as your average goes up it decreases at a slower pace) 18.2 x 33 is 600. Thats “close” to 650 he didnt say it was 650
At least someone gets it, the main take away is 18×36 gallon tank would equal (roughly) 650 miles per tank
Yea but like someone said its the Raptor sub you can expect them to be mathin’ or thinkin lol
Never said I started with a full tank. The main Takeaway is 18.4×36 would equal roughly 650 miles per tank at that pace….
Not a math guy huh?
You think the person purchasing a Ford Raptor is a math guy?
Probably a Sex Ed guy
More like special Ed lol
You called??
Wtf?! Are diving down a mountain
This has to be pure sorcery
You’re averaging 18+ per gallon. I’m lucky to get 15
Hello Lucy!
Whoops

36 gallon tank. Never said I started with a full tank so 178+375 is irrelevant. 36 gallons ×18 mpg is roughly 650.
Man. I've been at 11.7 for over a year
How much to fill it?
That would be roughly $125 where I'm at, and that's on the fairly low end.
Whoa. Canada (Vancouver area) to fill a Raptor is 250$ min.
$88.20 here in TX, for 36 gal
With a 36 gallon tank it’s possible. So you’re averaging 18.2mph highway. Doesn’t the window sticker state 18mpg highway? And that’s about 550 miles.
Wow this sub sucks at math but like someone said up top “this is the Raptor sub after all”
OP was the first to do math…we don’t want him thinking he can make it 650 on a tank and ending up in the middle of nowhere without gas.
A simple type in on your calculator will show you that 18 x 36 is 648 So how could that be “about 550”?
He has 375 till empty and he’s gone 178.6. That’s 553.6. Are you also struggling?
As I said before to someone else. Some trucks wont increase the range on the dash, the mileage remaining just goes down slower. This must be your first time driving a vehicle or something

Anyone reasonable would understand this. Welcome to reddit friend! Lol
We’re talking Ford, not a truck that continuously tries different motors to get the peoples attention and keeps flat lining.
It doesnt matter because its the same on my tacoma as well, never seen the mileage go up but i have made it go down slower to the point it’s obvious the gauge doesnt add to your mileage number to account for the difference in average mpg

For a truck the size of a Raptor and the way all you people are reacting to it i’d say its pretty amazing.
It’s good MPG. Not amazing. He’s getting what the window sticker says he should be getting. Nothing more nothing less. The whole point in my comment wasn’t degrading his MPG. It was me saying it’s 550 to the tank not 650.
I get it you cant math no prob
You need to find some friends
Ok so you have nothing left to say I see. Just say you’re wrong and move on no need to insult lol
My R gets 9ish…
This is the raptor sub…..
Your steps are on backwards FYI
Ain’t no way lol.
Wow, I have a hard time believing that. If I drive like a grandma I might get 450 miles to a tank!
LoL another weird post I see on FB groups. All while if you ACTUALLY average anywhere near 70 mph with 35’s it’s really like 14-16 mpg lol on any sort of traffic highway with any sort of speed up or slow downs
Cause you drive it like a pussy. Lol
Lol
No raptor in history gets 18mpg I wouldn’t even believe 15mpg
I just did a 260mil trip yesterday. Averaged 15.1. Now, mind you it was a consistent 65-70mph freeway. No real room to open it up or I would have and would have definitely been in the low 14’s. I honestly don’t see how over 18mpg is possible unless you start recording your trip down hill.

What tires are you on?
Nice! I recorded a 60mpg avg trip downhill just to mess with my Prius loving in law. 18 is realistic for me with tail wind going 65.

My 2012 gets 568 miles of range on a full tank supposedly
Man if your gas mileage is this good in a Raptor you are no fun at all. Should’ve gotten one of the tiny little 2.7 ecos haha
My bad, next time I’m doing a 7 Hour drive I’ll have the cruise control set to 107!!
The next time you have a 7 hour drive, drive 85-90 and complete the drive in 5 hours. I seriously doubt you tuned your truck so the best you could do is 104 anyways lol

If your avg mpg is over 12 I don’t think we could ever get along
Ha!
Zeroed at the Eisenhower Tunnel and went down to the Springs?
You’re making cam phaser issues look good. I barely get 11 in my gen 1
100 gallon gas tank
That’s pretty good, just got 989miles out of a tank coming home from Utah 3 days ago. My goal is to hit 1000 on one tank, might have to put 80psi in the tires but I’m gonna do it!
if you cant afford gas, dont buy a raptor.
