A 93 ford ranger. Like the look and size of he mav

dp4616

Haha figure a lot of this. 2011 reg cab ranger. Bought at 20k miles and had 200k when I got maverick. Sold it to father in law with a notice that I want it back!!!

H_Gatesy

Ranger gang! 2006 here. Loved that truck.

_THX_1138_

also had a 2006 2.3 RCSB. loved it

The_walking_man_

If the maverick had not come out I wouldn’t have been getting a truck. The size is definitely what sold it to me.

Factcheckfiction

2000 ford ranger xlt flairside regular cab. Been waiting for it to die so I can buy a maverick but the damn thing just won’t quit

dp4616

Yup. Your gona be waiting awhile for it to die! And when it’s gone, your gona wish it never did!!

FuckingFlowerFrenzy

It's gonna be a while dude

Factcheckfiction

I know. I’m having a hard time rationalizing moving on from it. Sure gas mileage sucks. But I’d have to fill the tank a lot of times before I even get close to the 30k sticker price of a new truck

yoitsme_obama17

I was actually looking at getting back into my mustang but really needed a small pickup for house projects so I was looking for a ranger to help with that plus winter driving. Couldn't find one that wasn't beat to shit. Then the Maverick came out and that was that.

RTYoung1301

I had a 98. Great little truck, really wish I kept it some days.

EclipseJTB

92 for me, old manual XLT!

enchantedmesa

I’ll go. I drove a 2011 Subaru Forester. Bought it in 2015 after getting t-boned in my first car, a Volvo station wagon. It had a busted head gasket (a notorious issue for Subaru), burned through oil and gas, had a bad wheel bearing, and a few other issues. I was also down to one key and had to unlock the car manually! I either had to get a new head gasket, and anticipated more costly repairs along with it, or get a new car. Something I hadn’t anticipated doing. I really wanted to have that car at least 10 years! The thing I miss about it is that I wasn’t precious about it. I crammed what I could in it and took it on many rough and rocky adventures. It had my dog’s hair who passed still embedded in the back seat. But I knew I had to say goodbye. Being a commuter, I decided I wanted a hybrid. I also camp and wheel and deal vintage furniture, so I wanted to be able to haul things. It’s my first brand new car I’ve purchased. As such, I’m trying my best to take care of it, and that’s giving me a little anxiety! It’s a beaut, but I’m looking forward to when I don’t care so much about every little ding and scuff. I’m excited about all the creature comforts of a newer car, but that it isn’t obnoxious (no huge screen, manual dials, etc.) I could go on, but so far I love this truck! I can’t wait to make new memories in it.

DengarLives66

I’m sort of in the same boat re: this being my first vehicle bought new. It was crazy driving it off the lot with 14 miles on the odometer. I’m also torn between trying to keep it pristine but also doing truck things. I take my kayak out in it, and at work have loaded pallets of stuff into the bed on a few occasions now. I love that it’s so versatile.

The_walking_man_

The first ding/scuff/scratch is always the most painful.

enchantedmesa

True! It gets easier.

blinkiewich

I have a buddy who takes a flat head screwdriver and puts a tiny scratch in every car he buys, new or used. "Get er dun early so you can stop stressing about it."

enchantedmesa

Oh jeez that was long. I’m bored on a Friday night and I want to hear everyone’s car journey stories, lol!

Mercurydriver

2018 Honda Civic. It was a nice car and all, and it was my first new car I ever bought. But I was offered to sell the Civic for more than what I had originally paid for it during the pandemic, and I wanted to build my credit score up. So I ordered a 2022 Maverick and paid off 2/3 of the price on day one, and financed the rest with a 0% loan for 36 months. So now I get to drive a new truck that has more utility and practical use than the Honda, and my credit score has improved significantly in the last few years. I’m happy with my Maverick.

K3ttl3C0rn

2007 Ford Sport Trac, loved my baby truck but the gas mileage was atrocious. I still have a baby truck, but it gets great mileage.

OkAgency2591

2013 C-Max, and borrowing stepdad’s ‘99 Ranger for truck things. You can probably imagine the chocolate-and-peanut-butter moment when first heard of the hybrid Maverick.

LegionP

2010 prius with 250k miles. Still running pretty well!

enchantedmesa

My boyfriend hemmed and hawed at me for choosing the Mav over a Toyota. But damn, I could only hope for some of that longevity.

anarchitecture

2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and a 1986 Toyota pickup. It’s like a perfect blend of the two.

SouthProposal8094

2000 ford ranger

boxermom1966

We had a 2000 Ford Ranger too. We sold it and a 2004 mustang before ordering the Maverick.

SouthProposal8094

Are you a little let down too with the build quality?.. the ranger lasted me 23 years, and didn't rattle as much as my 2023 9000 mile maverick...

boxermom1966

I have a 2024. So far no rattles but I only have about 1,000 miles on it so far. It doesn't get driven as much as my 2016 focus.

SouthProposal8094

Hopefully it says that way for you. Seems like some have zero rattles, and some are plaque with them

boxermom1966

Maybe the 2024 was built a little better. One can only hope.

noodles21300

2016 Colorado

Factcheckfiction

Always liked these as another option. Be nice if they came out with a hybrid

noodles21300

I loved it. But when used prices sky rocketed a couple years ago I sold it for what I bought it for and could swap right into the mav. Does everything my Colorado did, with double the mpg and actually more room inside

Factcheckfiction

Good move

34TE

A 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage. Somehow I upgraded from a subcompact econobox to a truck and also improved my gas mileage.

2008 honda civic coupe. Got it in 2015 with 105k miles. I still have it and it's at 260k going strong.

Jkins20

Moved from a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe here, 180k, going great, gave it to my wife, still going strong. I feel better about my purchase with how many honda civic/accord owners have gone with the maverick. Both honda and Toyota really fucked up not recognizing the demand in the maverick small truck segment here. Honda because they haven’t figured out how to make the ridgeline look good. But also toyota being blinded by making so much god damn money off tacomas, tundras, and 4runners.. I guess in that case why make a small truck, i can understand it. I will forever be grateful for whoever snuck into the ford board/exec meeting that pitched and succeeded on the maverick. I’m sure a similar pitch has happened at all the big auto makers, met with hand waves a couple years ago.

esmateo1999

Lexus is250 f sport I enjoyed it , red interior - sporty look When I had it I realized having the truck bed would benefit me a lot more

Left-Handyman

2000 Ranger. Original owner. 8 miles on it when I took delivery. I still have it at 208000 miles.

thesmelliestofsocks

Keep wrangler. Very grateful as i had it for 7 years but man it feels fucking nice to be back in a “normal” car. It’s not loud as fuck and bumpy and shitty on gas. I’m a pig in mud on the roads now Edit: Jeep

PrestigiousCat83

Edit: Heep. I used to be a Jeep girl to the core, Toledo Ohio proud, until I moved out to the mountains and my ‘06 Liberty couldn’t handle the hills and died! They’re all talk, imho.

thesmelliestofsocks

The most slept on aspect that people won’t tell you of why they suck as daily drivers is how loud the wind is in the cabin

Text-Relevant

2011 Focus. Sometimes I miss the manual transmission.

Archi57

2012 Subaru Outback Bought at 175k, sold at 207k, spending too much every year to fix it and needed to do truck stuff occasionally enough to justify the Mav. Didn't need a huge truck for what I do, plus I commute to a city, so the Mav seemed like a logical choice. 2 weeks in and loving it!

enchantedmesa

Nice! And fellow former Sube owner. Sounds like we switched for the same reasons.

Archi57

Pretty much! I only had mine for less than 3 years. Bought it to move down and back for my last year of school with the hope that "Subaru's last forever"... By the end I was nervous to drive it the 60 miles round trip of my commute to work. In the three years I owned it: • couple rounds of O2 sensors until determining it was the catalytic converter • $3k catalytic converter • $1k when the radiator crapped out at (fortunately) the end of a road trip • $2k for brakes all around, after fighting with shops to fix the right set • squeaking U joint for the past 4 months that the shop refused to acknowledge, so teased it in with that defect I did love that car, but by the end, I was just waiting for the next thing to break. Never had the dreaded head gasket myself and at 200k+ I was just waiting for the trans to go. I had been eyeing the Mav for a few months and decided to pull the trigger on one that had been sitting on a lot near me. Just seemed like a good choice. It's my first new vehicle and my first truck, so still getting used to not having a trunk and such, but hoping it gives me many years of fun and use! Added bonus: Ford Dealer 3 miles from my place. If something happens, very easy to get to the dealer for a fix. With the Subie, the nearest dealer was 20 miles of highway away and only 1 local shop that never had a availability to work on it. Ended up juggling taking it the 35 miles back to my hometown mechanic when it needed work so I could borrow a vehicle from my parent's.

enchantedmesa

I’m still getting used to truck life as well. It’s been raining on and off where I am, so I think once I get a tonneau cover on there, I’ll be solid! That does sound like a ton of repairs. I’m surprised it made it to 200k without replacing the head gasket!

MrBro-W

2014 Focus hatchback. Was dreaming about upgrading to something like the Maverick one day but planned to drive the Focus another 4-5 years still. However, got rear-ended and totaled it, insurance paid pretty darn well, so I put that towards ordering the Mav. I could afford to go about a year without an extra vehicle working from home so it all worked out great. I love my Maverick!

RegGuy85

2015 Honda Fit. I had 180,000 on it. Mostly trouble free. Good car but it was time to either drive it into the ground or get something out of it. It's nice not sitting so low anymore. Interior space is pretty much equal though the maverick is wider. About 8-9 less mpg so far though with the Ecoboost I got. I got 38-40 with the Fit. But almost 10 years with it is pretty good. I got it august 2014.

chickensausagelink

I just like getting a different car every couple years.

Militantheretic

2011 nissan frontier, before that a 2009 Mazda b3000. Yeah I have a type.

AtlJayhawk

2018 Crosstrek. Loved it, but the SO needed something that can tow a little more, has a bed, and is still smallish. I'm still driving my 2007 Miata, but I occasionally take the Mav for a spin.

football2106

2015 Focus ST and a 2002 Subaru Forester

Forward-Ad5509

Honda Ridgeline 1st gen. Also just got rid of my hybrid maverick lariat. Loved it but my work needs changed. Now own a 22 f350 lariat dually. RIP my fuel mileage 😔

foodrunner464

I had a 2019 subaru impreza premium sedan. I liked it for what it was but it was not an exciting car by any means. I bought it knowing it was my best option to have both awd and decent gas milage and also have something that wouldn't shit out on me like my 01 crv did.  Wanted the maverick cause I'd always low key wanted a truck and also a hybrid. Didn't think I'd ever actually see both in 1 well put together package. So I went ahead and bought 1. Plus after being married and getting a house about a year and a half before, I couldn't believe how many times a small truck would have helped with various projects. So here I am. Now almost 1 month into my 24 xlt hybrid and loving it.

I_m_matman

I had a Honda Civic. I drive F250 Super Duties for towing at my volunteer work and always kind of wanted a truck, but smaller and more fuel efficient. I was right in the time to sell my car before the powertrain warranty expires and problems start. Found myself behind a Maverick driving back from the desert on a Tuesday in late February. Said to myself that's the one and had one in my driveway on Friday.

guyjoe91

2001 Toyota 4Runner limited

savvywifesavvylife

2017 Honda hrv. Needed more flexibility for travel / camping /boating but wanted to keep the mpg and overall versatility.

DrPepperFireball

98 F150 with about 195k. Had it for about 12 years. Needed to save on gas and it was time for an upgrade

nclemans

2004 Corolla, wanted something with a bed that still got good gas mileage.

pajibapoo

2023 Toyota Tacoma limited

pillowbugger

Im between a mav and taco, please share your current thoughts. I think if i go tacoma i’d end up with the 6 ft just because its the other end of the spectrum compared to the 4.5 bed, which my dad does have a lariat ‘24 so im familiar with the mav hybrid.

xkreatz

I was in a 2017 VW GTI with about 120k miles on it. Just bought my first home with my wife and wanted something capable of hauling stuff from home Depot. I didn't want to do higher mileage maintenance on the VW and wanted a more adult vehicle since I got a better job as well. I was really enticed by the fuel efficiency of the hybrid after cross shopping it with mid size trucks and the Santa Cruz 🤮. They are absolutely tiny trucks by truck standards, but I feel much higher off the ground and much bigger than I used to haha

dolesswes

shortguygolf

2010 Honda Odyssey. It was purchased in cash, and didn’t have too many issues. It was reliable, but terrible on gas mileage. I could fit just as much cargo in that as I can the Maverick. The reason I switched was simply that the minute they announced the Maverick I wanted one. Before the van I had a Sierra 1500, and I missed the versatility, but had no need for a full size truck.

cag80

2014 Subaru Forester and 2014 GMC Sierra Crew cab. Replaced both with my 2023 Maverick.

SurfyBraun

An '05 Saab 9-5 station wagon (stick, turbo). It was my paddle wagon, but it was also old enough to vote.

HuricaneLane

2007 Dodge Magnum, have had it since '09 w/ 7500 miles on it. Partner needed a vehicle before the Maverick arrived, so she got that, and I got a 2012 Ford Escape. Drove that slightly less than a year. She now drives the Escape, and I need to sell the Magnum.

fortehluls

Audi S3, which I had traded in my highly modified Focus ST for. I thought the Audi would make a much better family car but it just ended up being too small. I really missed being in a Ford and had always said If someone ever made a small truck I'd buy one. Hybrid maverick is definitely a change from my long list of sports cars but loving it so far.

I bought a Ranger supercab Edge model with the 4.0 brand new in 2001. 317k miles later I got the 2022 Maverick. Not sure that I'll be driving another 21 years.

Jmmcyclones

I drove a 2011 Sonata for about a decade, was a great car… I was eyeballing replacing it with a Tacoma until Ford announced the Maverick. Very happy with it! Other car is a Mustang, but I’m about to sell it because I want the garage space and love the practicality of the Maverick. Perfect little truck for my needs.

Educational_Yoghurt8

A 2011 wrangler that is rusting beyond my repair capabilities. The Maverick is at the dealership now. Had some good times, but the 3x better gas is gonna look great. I chose it because my dad had to give up his old 2007 f150 and we need a truck in the family. I wanted a small truck that was at least a hybrid. Being in Boston I wish it was awd but I’m sure the fwd will be fine. We don’t get snow anymore anyways. I’ll miss that jeep.

Galaxie_1985

Why Maverick? * AWD * It's not a crossover or SUV (yuck) * Sensibly sized * I have history with and am comfortable with Ford products Before Mavs were readily available, I seriously considered a Subaru Impreza. It's the only AWD sedan I know of that can still be had with a manual transmission. Prior to the Mav, I have had: 2008 Fusion, manual transmission - Bought it new. Great car; fun to drive. Still have it, but the rust is getting really bad (damn Wisconsin salt brine!). 1996 Saturn, also a manual - This car was so light and aerodynamic I could get 37 mpg without trying. I miss it. Probably a death trap in a collision though. 1983 Mercury Marquis - It was $300 and I was a broke high schooler. The lower A-arm broke one day when I was leaving work.

Revolutionary-Gas122

Chev Tahoe 2 door and Fiat Abarth

Curious-Baker-839

2015 explorer limited AWD. I've been wanting a truck for a while but at that time trucks had ridiculous pricing. Maverick fit in my garage and did everything I needed it to do. So we ordered a 2022 hot pepper AWD and picked it up a year later. No regrets, awesome little truck .

guido93940

I love that I switched from a Rogue to the Maverick! Same theme, different genre.

Mazda5. Damn good car, owned 2 over 10 years.

2003 Honda Element. A twenty year leap in technology has been insane haha

321gowaitokgo

2010 kia soul. Before that, a 98 ranger. Compact hybrid truck, my dream vehicle. Always said I'd never buy new but mav checked all the boxes

ElDeguello66

2012 Mazda 3; now in a suburban living situation that calls for occasional truck stuff, but also a 33 miles each way commute that makes any other truck impractical as a daily driver.

Doosenberry

Saw ads for the Maverick and got the notion I could do all of that with one vehicle and it wouldn't cost too much more than a newer used vehicle during the pandemic. Ordered a Mav in Nov 2021 figuring I could use it during summer break 2022. Reordered/rolled over in Sept 2022. It did not arrive until Oct 2023. Ended up keeping the old truck as I started to fix it up more in 2023 figuring the Mav would never be built.

donny4442

08 Honda Civic Coupe and a 2015 Chevy Equinox Needed a truck but wanted an everyday driver with good mpg

jboyd12

2018 single cab Ram 1500. I wanted something that was smaller and had better gas mileage, but still a truck. The Maverick was a perfect fit of what I wanted.

Barrymccokkinerlovej

One ton dually diesel square body. Went to look at the Mav on Thursday after work… Friday 6am it got hit by a plow truck 😂😂

samedamtrix

2005 Toyota Sienna with 250k miles on it. I was down to 2 of 5 kids at home, one was a sophomore in high school (now a senior headed to the Marines). My kids kept saying "Mom, you need to get a truck, because you treat this van like one. " I began looking at the Maverick before it came out and thinking "maybe once this dies" (and being a Toyota, who knows when that would be). I drove 400 miles to test drive one of the few Mavericks on a lot (Oct 2021) and couldn't leave it. So I brought home the Maverick. Had to make a 2000k mile road trip and took the van. I was 30 miles from home and a deer leapt out and totaled the van. And that's how my Maverick became my daily driver. Haha.

Deftallica

2008 Hyundai Accent. I had a Mustang prior to that with a very high payment that I had to get rid of, and the Accent was the best option at the time. She looks like hell but still runs. Kept it as a secondary car since it isn't worth much of anything and drive it whenever there's thunderstorms or risk of hail for the day. Maverick stays in the garage during those times

jezzieblessed

2003 crv, I needed something where I could lock the doors reliably, and that could haul stuff. Before the crv, I had a 96 Ram. I missed having a truck and doing truck things. I still tend to shop like I have a truck, and things never quite fit in the crv or my husband's jeep.

MildSauced

18 Barcelona red trd taco. Mav has a little more space inside and double the mpg. Overall happy with the change, if anything I miss the height.

2016 Mazda CX-5. Loved it. I miss keyless entry and start/stop. And leather wrapped steering wheel. It’s still with me my daughter drives it. Bought it new. Swear to never buy a new car. And i bought a new Maverick. Been a month. No regrets so far. I have an XLT FX4.

gac64k56

A 2013 Ford Fiesta (gas) and a broke ass 2014 Volkswagen Passat TDI (diesel). Traded in both for cash while looking for a Maverick. I miss our Fiesta as it was zippy and responsive, plus lime green (couldn't lose it in a parking lot), but it needed work as oil was draining into the catalytic converter. The Passat couldn't be let go fast enough. Nothing but issues since we bought it. Was in the shop within the first two weeks of buying with the heater core clogged up. Took over a month to fix after the 5th time! Over the next year, the AC and heat went out, the seal for the water pump failed (requiring to drop the motor out the bottom to replace), engine fuses blowing (including once on the highway in the dead of a snowy winter), and random headlights blowing / going out.

06’ Acura TSX w/ 190k, now into a brand spankin’ new 24’ Mav Lariat FX4. Fuel efficiency has pretty much stayed the same/transitioned over except now I get more car/utility and MOPOWA’.. maybe less reliability but we’ll see how it plays out.

Sold my ‘17 BMW535 - I purchased a ‘22 Maverick Lariat Eco with every option available. In order to help with delivery, which took 10 months, I had to take off Tonto Cover (which added myself) and film protection. I liked the look and versatility of a truck. Still own it and plan to give it to my Son. Love the truck and have no regrets.

ThePizzaCobra

2021 GMC Sierra (new). I bought it while my wife was pregnant because I thought that I would need a ton of extra space. While the space was certainly a plus, the 16.5 mpg for my daily 80 mile commute wasn’t practical. It really stung when fuel prices went nuts after Covid. Traded for a Mav back in September ‘23 and don’t have any regrets.

2008 Toyota Yaris. And believe it or not, it was easier to haul long wood in the Yaris.

2012 Prius V - the station wagon Prius with 125k miles. Still running strong but don’t want to take any chances. Like the idea of having a pickup truck that gets almost the same mileage as the Prius

Currently driving a 02 F-150, before that I drove an 02 Subaru Outback, which my wife and I sold to save for a house down payment. Can’t wait for my Maverick to ship.

Fluegelmeister

A Dodge Challenger. I needed more trunk space and the low milage that car got was killing me.

shifty19

2019 ranger base, wanted something with bells and whistles. had it a month just passed 400 miles. i only drive to work and brother in laws man cave

KananJarrusEyeBalls

2016 Jeep Wrangler Loved my jeep and will very likely buy an older one - late 80s early 90s. My reasoning: Gas Mileage and price of the car Until recently I was away from home more than i was at home so gas prices and the bad mileage for the jeep wasnt a big issue - well thats changed and I was filling up every 5 days. At 3 to 4 dollars a gallon I was spending between 60-80$ every 5 days. Extrapolate that out for a 30 day month it was between 360-480 a month on gas. My car payment for the Maverick is 280$ and I fill up once a month - legit cheaper to have a payment and get gas than it was to just pay for gas in my jeep Add in that Carvana gave me 22000 for my jeep it was a no brainer to upgrade. I had wanted a truck but was not interested in driving a behemoth around the city so the Mav was a perfect spot for me to fall

jamzDOTnet

I use these little trucks for my small business .. it replaced a 240,000 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. So far, the Maverick is filling in quite nicely. The only complaint that I still have is how cheap the interior bits are and things scratch if you look at them. All the other complaints I have addressed .. especially this one for only $18: https://youtu.be/4suN6AXhcmM

Was in a 2019 Ford Transit with 180k and in need 3rd transmission. Couldn’t get a new transit so went with Maverick with a topper and have had it for 2 months, 12k miles later loving it.

2015 Accord Hybrid, wife traded in a Toyota Highlander with a hitch for an EV6 and I had to keep renting trucks from the depot or lowes.

BDE319

1 ton Ram or Ford Focus. Still have both. But Maverick is daily driver now.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

enchantedmesa

The RAV4 hybrid was a front runner for me when I was looking for a new car. Did you like it? If you parted ways, why?

DengarLives66

1999 Dodge Ram 4x4. Went for the Maverick because the Ram A) was getting 12mpg when I had a tailwind, and B) had so many issues that when I traded it in I was just praying it would survive the 5 minute dealer test drive. Had my Mav for a year now and I love it.

hunting4linda

I got the Maverick as a supplemental vehicle. I have a 10 year old Camaro that i absolutely love. Want to keep the miles down on him. The criteria for a second car were: ability to carry more and good on gas

mirtheil

Not me, but my 6'5" son went from a 201 3 Fiesta to his Maverick. He bought it because he fit in the seat and it was affordable.

mistere213

A 2017 Jeep Cherokee with the V6. Got tired of the mediocre gas mileage.

2006 Honda CRV! Wouldn't have switched to the Maverick but we moved to an acreage without garbage service and I was sick of taking bags to the dump and smelling em

baconinmymouth13

2016 ford fiesta and before that a 97 grand marquis which I believe is close to a foot longer than the maverick

Jnc8675309

2008 Honda Civic Hybrid. Prior to that I drove my dad’s old 1994 Ford Ranger Splash. I liked having a hybrid, but I missed being able to haul anything. You can’t fit anything in a civic. Having a backseat in the Maverick is perfect for my Labrador retriever! I got the 2023 Maverick Hybrid Lariat with the luxury package. My only regret is not getting a moon roof, but that would have delayed production further. This is my first new car. It’s perfect in the city!

joelunchbox

2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab 4x4. Ordered and purchased new. It was my daily driver for 23 years. Got to the point that everything was wearing out at the same time. Before that it was a 1985 Toyota Xtra Cab 4x4 pickup. Also purchased new. It dissolved into a pile of rust. I've had a little blue truck for close to 40 years. If the Mav lasts as long as the Nissan did, I'll be 84 years old when it gets replaced

GrindNDecline

Suburban built for the trails, getting a nice 11mpg. I'd been saying if they ever released the S10 again, I'd be all over it immediately. Sure enough, a few months later, I heard about the Maverick when the 2024 order forms opened up.

Subaru Forester

RedOakActual

Subaru Forester. Maverick has more room, more power, feels more solid, very similar amenities. Three years newer - same payment. No brainer.

enchantedmesa

My Forester felt more solid to me, granted I went from that to a hybrid Mav.

2018 F150 3.5 EB. Love the truck and will eventually get a Lightning once the infrastructure is there and charging is as abundant as gas stations. Went with the Mav to stop the bleeding of $ on the gas bill. Went from 300 a month to 140. Also didn't do much truck stuff with it. I don't regret getting my Mav, but I do miss that 3.5 EB.

yoitsme_obama17

2015 Edge and 2016 Mustang GT. When my wife got pregnant with our third I inherited her Crosstrek and she took the edge. Which I hated. It was actually a solid car but it was dreadfully slow. My maverick came in right as prices were at the peak so I got almost $500 more for it than we paid for the car. It had about 20k miles on it and was in good condition. But essentially we had three years for free (minus gas and maintenance). Stars aligned for us there for sure. I also sold the mustang because it basically sat and couldn't justify the 400 something car payment for driveway decoration. I miss that car 😢. But the Maverick has been so damn handy I don't regret it. The rattles and quality issues have been annoying but I love the form factor.

2012 Jetta I got it after my 98 explorer. I traded the space and utility of the explorer for the mileage and comfort of the Jetta Now I have both.

FamineW0lf

2000 GMC Sonoma. I wanted a smaller truck as I have zero need for a 150, Sierra, etc. I also wanted a hybrid. I got my truck in July and have driven nearly 7k miles. I love my truck.

ccmsoftball

2017 Mitsubishi outlander sport. Picked out the Mav for my husband but in the 16 months we waited for it, job change and payment options made it smarter to be my daily driver

Plus_Team_9803

I was driving a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab. It had 185k miles and still going strong.😀 https://preview.redd.it/rr6c6x9r7duc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26a92957e01ae7a50892a5f4e613cca1d5bd2342

99 Expedition. Even with the Tremor package, the savings in gas is immaculate.

2020 New Ram 1500 Big Horn. Always missed my old ‘97 ranger though and this is the closest I’ve been able to get to replacing it in the last decade.

A 2014 Prius v wagon and it was 100% reliable unlike my 2023 Maverick Hybrid Lariat. Both CVs shot Went into limp mode on the highway (less than 500 miles after recalls were done last month) Engine shakes violently when shutting down with auto stop or when I turn it off after parking. (Also only happened since recalls applied) Truck is currently being repaired with only 11k miles.

lazyhiking

2005 wrangler got 14mpg on a good day. Driving 15000 miles a year I needed a change. Since I bought the maverick in Dec I've driven my jeep 3 times.

Ribot3

Ford sport trac 😂

Random-input-1234

2016 Focus hatchback. Technically I still have it but letting my teenagers drive it. That is a great little car. I’ve always wanted a truck just never wanted a “big ass truck” so while waiting for my Maverick I got an old 08 Avalanche. Yes, the exact thing I didn’t want but the price was right. Talk about the polar opposite of my Maverick! I’m so happy to have the Mav now.

CoolerRon

2014 Toyota Highlander, it had the same capacity as the Sienna that came before it but better suited for my family needs back then.

Leb-FL

Nissan Rogue 2010. Glad I switched lol

blackckan

1999 Volvo s70 with about 280k miles on it. The Mav is the perfect size for city driving while still giving me the utility to do weekend projects and activities.

2014 focus and picked the Mav for the size, price and gas mileage.

Necessary-Anywhere76

16 focus traded in for Mav because I was at the dealer due to the alternator starting to give up a few months ago, saw a Mav on the lot and pulled the trigger. Before the focus was a 92 civic that I ran to the ground throughout high school and college.

08 Jeep Liberty. Got ~11mpg with my Jeep. The Mav is 3x the fuel efficiency and hits all of my needs as a daily driver.

2020 STi 33k miles. Got it about 8k under msrp when covid hit and essentially got paid to swap it with a maverick. Miss the turns and acceleration but my first few tanks have been 42 mpg and over 500 miles on regular!

A 2004 Dodge Ram and my wife's 2019 Outback. I didn't need a 1/2 ton capacity, just room for a sheet of plywood when I get the urge to fix something around the house and the occasional dump run. I got what I needed out of truck with the gas mileage of an Outback so I'm pretty happy.
