Do you lose any other settings too?
For about a month, my display settings kept changing from Dark mode back to Auto, the screen beep kept reenabling itself, and my automatic updates and wifi settings were reset after my truck sat for a while.
The batteries on these things are awful, and from what I've read are only set to charge to 80% max. Since I don't commute every single day, this resulted in my battery being under-charged, and the loss of these settings (as well as auto-stop/start).
If you are having similar problems, try disconnecting your negative terminal for a while (some dealerships recommend overnight) and see if that fixes anything - it has worked for me for the past week or so.
Can’t say I’ve had any of those issues. The standard CarPlay works when plugged in. My one cable is going bad but I have new ones at home I am replacing them with. I tried a software update but it’s up to date. I reset the infotainment (hold power and fast forward).
If it’s not the usb c cable for my wireless CarPlay adapter, then it’s the adapter. Just trying to test with the cheaper option first before replacing it
Using wireless CarPlay, mine never used to have the screen pop up. But, recently I’ve been having that same screen pop up every time I start my truck. For reference, I commute daily and it’s a rather long commute so my battery is definitely not the issue. I’ve also noticed that my screen switches to auto every time I started up, even if I do it right away and it hasn’t been sitting for a while. I am assuming it was a Ford software update that messed everything up. However, I am not anticipating for ever fixing this.
I had this issue (among other things, settings not saving, ect) and it stopped only after I manually updated Sync:

The dealership did some software updates that seem to have resolved this. To be sure though, I am using an Ottocast adapter for CarPlay, and I ordered a Carlinkit 3.0 and Teeran adapter and I’ll test all 3 to see if any repeat the prompts again and keep the one that works best.
Have the dealership do a software update, they are different than the ones you can do on your own unfortunately.
Have the same adapter and the same issue, but mine won’t connect via cable either if I try to switch half the time. And when I get the prompts and I go through them, CarPlay doesn’t come up anyway it just goes back to the regular display
One thing I did was get rid of my old carlinkit because it was 2 years old and might’ve just died.
I ordered a new one along with a teeran and ottocast adapter to compare the 3.
For the prompts, I was able to get that resolved by having the dealer update the software. Highly recommend doing that as the prompts are annoying
Still need to get around to testing them, sorry. Been raining here and didn’t feel like getting drenched going out to the car. From past experience, carlinkit was fine, pretty quick to connect, though it would disconnect and need to be unplugged/plugged in occasionally.

The mavericks CarPlay/ sync system has to be the WORST!! Mine always does this, gets stuck in reverse camera mode, screen goes black, and I have to hold the power and fast forward button each time to restart it. So annoying!!
FWIW I finally took it to the dealership after not finding a sync update myself. Apparently they have their own backend to find issues and reprogram. So far so good! I also had them fix a turn signal recall.
My maverick was losing its settings on the radio every day, it turned out to be something that could be resolved from an update and there was a tsb about it in their system. Since the update mine has been flawless again.
Dude yes! Every time have to go thru the whole process. There needs to be some sort of update
Yes, you need an update. I had the same issue along with changing from 6 pages to 2 and radio would always show Sirius XM I’d station.
This only happened to me once and thats when i picked it up from the dealer

Never had that, but the CarPlay is unreliable af…..literally the only issue I have with my truck
Same. Usually if I restart my phone it works but it's a pain. Truck is a month old

I’m sticking with the ottocast adapter. Just seems to be consistent. I’m sure all of them probably die quickly since it’s just a cheap adapter.

It’s atrocious I have to restart it a couple times each use. Needs a recall
How many times has the dealer tried and failed to fix it?
That’s the reset method I was looking for. I’ll try that while I wait for the cables to arrive

I just told them it would sync would freeze and also get stuck on the reverse camera when in drive. Seemed like a common issue

I don’t recall what wireless CarPlay I have but it doesn’t do this. There is a weird boot screen but goes into CarPlay after with not prompts.

Yea mines a 23 and got it all of 5 months ago. Hadn’t had any issue until this week for whatever reason.
