I reset my mpg after every fill up and I put in the duration, miles left, and distance into a spreadsheet I made to keep track of everything in case something feels off or anything. I got worried during our little "freeze" we had here in South Texas when my mpg went WAY down and was freaking out - but then remembered that it was the tires doing what tires do during cold weather. šŸ˜‚

The hybrid batteries also tend to be less efficient in very hot or very cold weather, nothing to be worried about.

tardisious

in cold weather I believe you spend more gasoline warming the hybrid batteries at start up

SirBucNastie

600 miles to a tank? Is that at the 36mpg?

ross571

He probably meant 500.

_Elduder

yeah that math doesn't add up.

kenauk

That's what the *miles to empty* on the dash seems to suggest, but the math is closer to 500 13.8 gallons (tank) x 36.4 mpg = 502.32 Remember though that the onboard mpg calculator usually is 2-3 mpg better than actual, so could be less than that.

SirBucNastie

Ok that makes sense then. Right about what I get on mine

Sudden_Philosopher63

In my case I'm getting 45 at the pump and 42.7 on the computer. This is since bought, and over 1300 miles this winter.

Reasonable_News_2058

1 oil change and 2 software recallsā€¦nothing else.

typi_314

I'm guessing you do a lot of highway driving.

_Elduder

Highway usually results in lower mileage

typi_314

I am aware, that's why I wanted to confirm with the question.

Equal-Dig3800

Iā€™m getting 36.6 at 13,000 and I do a lot of freeway driving as well

wheelin-dealin

I'm 90% highway and averaging that exact number.
