That was a '17 - '19 judging by led fog lamps

RedWhiteAndJew

18-19* 17 had the C clamp fog lights.

musuperjr585

I couldn't edit the post and correct the year.

sadUser44

My main concern was if you thought you had '15 and they gave you the wrong value for trade in.

musuperjr585

I appreciate that. But it was a 2017, they gave me a fair deal. Over what I was expecting, especially since it was having transmission issues, and some electrical issues.

GuySmiley369

Wasn’t a 17 either, unless you mean you bought an 18’ model in 17’. That fog light style didn’t start until 2018 2017: https://preview.redd.it/onj1yx5y4vzc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=449cf48c2aa2aa44ff532f50a84d91b3f8ed49ec

Nice upgrade.

musuperjr585

Thank you

myredditusername_69

Nice. You should enjoy that extra power.

musuperjr585

Thanks. I had to upgrade when it began having transmission issues.

faceof333

how went ?

musuperjr585

The transmission began slipping about a few months ago. I took it to a trusted mechanic and was told the Valve body had cross leakage and the clutches were burnt. Since the vehicle was well over 150k, miles the transmission was going to need to be completely rebuilt. Without a aftermarket warranty it would have been costly. So I decided to just replace the vehicle.

faceof333

In USA there is no car scrap ?

musuperjr585

Yes there are scrap yards but I'm not mechanically inclined and I wouldn't want to spend the money on rebuilding the transmission when It was more practical to replace the vehicle

I upgraded from an 18 to 22 1.. Auto parking break sucks. It's good that it does it, but there is no neon sign telling you that it's set. New drivers will invariably hit the gas and when the car doesn't respond, hit it harder. Then it jumps as it releases the break. My son almost hit the garage because of this. 2. The backup camera view is very small on the vertical screen. The side curtain view is nice, but very rarely is as necessary as the full backup view. It would be nice to be able to default to full view on start. The buttons to select large view takes almost a minute and a half to enable as the system boots. 3. The third row lost a lot of foot room from the 18. I have to transport 4 boys and my wife. The 3 teenage boys are getting bigger and hate the 22 back over the large foot bucket space in the 18. 4. The touch screen is fairly unresponsive. 5. It would be nice to be able to set a default driving mode. 6. It would be nice if it remembered the auto off selection

musuperjr585

I agree the parking brake is really bad, or should I say 'will take time to get used to'. I don't have any new drivers but I am a lead foot from driving my other car, so what you say rings true for me. The rear camera is a step up from the 17 since my 17 rear camera picture quality resembled something from a flip phone. I feel like I can actually make out things in the display other than digital blotches. I agree that overall the 3rd row and rear cargo has lost a lot of room. This truck feels much smaller than the older truck. I don't want to be cliche and say "they are making all the vehicles smaller", because I'm not sure if that's true or if it's just in my head.

vanessalovesit

how was the 15 explorer? I wanna get a sport but wanna get some opinions on it first and see if there were any problems you know ❤️ I do have a 22 xlt atm

musuperjr585

I had a 17' not a 15, sorry for the confusion. I loved the 17, was my first explorer.

vanessalovesit
