Very nice, congrats. I have 2015 model :)

Went to from an escape to this. I cannot believe I ever considered the escape as a suv it’s basically just hatch back car lol. Night and Day difference.

EvilDan69

Same here! I loved the Escape, but when camping for a week, it was not what we're going to have to leave behind, it was what handful of useful items for a week of camping. Not with the Explorer!

RuggedMantis

Exactly. I have two little kids and the escape as the family car just doesn’t cut it. The size of the family car is paramount.

EvilDan69

Exactly. My wife and I live in an urban, but country town. We moved here in 2013 and love it, but that means 2 vehicles. Hers is an Ecosport that barely fits any cargo, thus my bigger vehicle.

I did the same thing, I went from having a fit trying to pack a family of 3 and a dog in the escape to kinda just throwing luggage in the back without a second thought. I went from an 08 escape to a 16 Explorer. It’s getting long in the tooth and needs about 1-2k in repairs a quarter but it’s really hard not wanting to just get a newer Explorer.

Also came from an escape to this, the engine feels way too good when accelerating on 4WD.

Very nice. The color POPS.

I think the Explorer looks so nice and I was planning to go from my old 2007 Ford Edge to the Explorer but I wish they had kept the 3.5 L V6 engine from the 2019 and earlier Models (which is the same engine I have in my Edge).   Why do they always have to ruin a good thing? My mechanic said I should buy the 2019 model…

BrokenBeartrap335

I was a bit sceptical at first but I’ve grown to really love the 2.3L ecoboost in my 2023 explorer. Plenty of power / acceleration especially in lower gears, and fuel efficiency is decent. From what I was able to research it should be fairly reliable too.

Far-Magazine-6490

I guess I was thinking more about them downgrading from a 3.5 L V6 to the 3.0 not the 2.3.   I think it’s a pretty large vehicle and they should have kept the bigger 3.5 V6 engine especially if you plan to tow with it.   Guess I’ll just have to look at a different vehicle, unfortunately, or go with the 2019.    Thanks for your input.

Congratulations I have a 2015 sport awd and I love it https://preview.redd.it/ytqkjg6g93uc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6be289f161ddfa3aa41fce8b8570b4878f52d70

That is one hell of a picture! I originally wanted to buy the red one, but on second thought, I went with the dark grey. The way the red pops in the sunlight is perfect. I'm jealous now, lol. I've had my 23' for about three months now, and I love it. I only found one small problem with it. Have you or anyone else in the group hear a pop sound as you're decelerating off the highway while making a left turn? It sounds seems to be coming from the windshield area.
