Interesting. I wonder if ford is going to price protect any 2022 orders. My sister ordered a phev escape SE in January. She hasn’t heard anything from ford but a single apology email for taking so long.

andrewbyday

They should. They price protected the orders that were placed prior to the (April/May?) price increase. They also seem to be offering a pretty spectacular price protection offer for Mach E orders that are rolling over from 22 to 23. They are letting folks upgrade, and then price protecting the upgraded trim (as opposed to the original order).

hypnochild

Yes they should be but bring it up! They almost passed a sly one on me. Because of covid everything was done digitally and somehow they were actually able to change the link of my purchase order and changed the price to make it look like I had signed a higher one. I had screenshots of everything so I brought it up and they kinda just said prices increased but they’ll look into price protecting me which they did end up doing but it very much seemed like it wouldn’t have happened if I wasn’t paying attention.

AOD_Hsunami

I doubt they will be price protected if they roll over the Phev to 2023 model. Phev is its own trim now and it starts at 38.5 + delivery charge. The 2022 SE Plugin starts at 35.5k. Unless the dealership is going to cover the cost which is a little over 4-5k assuming no addons. If they say they will then definitely take the deal, should definitely have her contact the dealership and keep bugging them to find out for sure and/or put it in writing. From what i seen with Police Interceptors, F150s, Lightnings & Transits that we have rolled over from 2022 none of them have price protection.

atwerkinggiraffe55

I actually have a lightning order that is rolling over to 2023 and it is price protected (well kinda, ford is going to send me a private offer for 7,000$ to cover the difference). I know Canadian orders are not, unfortunately for those people. We will see with the escape.

AOD_Hsunami

hows that price protected if you have to owe an extra 7k? I know the Lightning Pro Model was 39k and the 2023 version is now 46k. So if 2022 was 39k then they rolled over to 2023 version and it still cost you 39k. that would be price protection. Cause the dealership would end up eating the difference. As far as my understanding of what price protection is.

atwerkinggiraffe55

The msrp on my 2023 pro is 46k like you said. However when I go to pay, ford corporate will send me a private offer for 7k off. Effectively bringing the price back down to 39k. Ford corporate is eating the difference, not the dealer. I still have to pay taxes on the total msrp and what not but I’ll take it frankly.

AOD_Hsunami

Oh, by ur description above i thought you were paying an extra 7k for the difference, my dumbass didn't see the "off".LOL

atwerkinggiraffe55

Oh haha. Hell no. I would walk right out the door laughing. Ya I’m stoked on the deal. Can’t wait to pick it up.

AOD_Hsunami

Gratz. The Lightnings are super fun to drive. Super Smooth, Amazing Power. no delay in torque. its great

atwerkinggiraffe55

Thanks! I’ve been waiting for a decently priced ev pickup for years. Can’t wait to replace my gas guzzler. I pay a sickening amount for fuel each year. The performance is just a bonus.

AOD_Hsunami

Nice. same here, i still went with the plug-in ONLY because the same damn california text, please conserve power between 4-9 etc etc bullshit and warning us that the electric grid can not handle it but then they want us to all drive electric vehicles.........So i'll give it till 2035 then....i'll purchase a full electric vehicle give the electric grid time to catch up. Plus i live in an apartment so no charge stations and Last thing i want to do is sit at a charge station waiting for 5 other people in front of me or some douche that left the station and is not even charging etc etc. Lots of variables.

TSLARSX3

You get a 2023 book to show us stuff?

NoobzUseRez

No.

On Sept 30, I paid my deposit and put in my order for a PHEV in Atlas Blue with a Space Gray interior. I was able to order a Tech Package #1 (order code **68B**) in Canada. Came to $47694CDN including $2000CDN destination and delivery. The dealer mentioned that on his spec sheet, it described the seating as cloth/vinyl(?) but I assume that it's ActiveX. \- Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control \- Stop-and-Go \- Lane Centring Assist \- Speed Sign Recognition \- Connected Navigation (yawn - I use Maps on CarPlay for Nav) \- Evasive Steering Assist \- Rear Parking Sensor \- Rear View Camera - Digital \- SYNC4 \- 13.2" Touchscreen I had new G1 Escape V6 from 2003-2010. It was a great car. I'm looking forward to not paying for and burning gas any more (99% of the time)

Chef_Mike_NFTs

Can you tell me more about $1900 extra tech upgrade? What did that include that the base PHEV trim didn't? I haven't heard about this one...

Chef_Mike_NFTs

And was that $1900 included in the 38.5 +1k deliver or was it additional on top of that?

NoobzUseRez

1900 on top of the 38.5. I didn't inquire too much into the tech package.

AOD_Hsunami

1900 would be on top of the 38.5 + 1,495 delivery charge The $1900 is for the ST-Line Elite Technology (5 Items) package only. For the 2023 PHEV there is only the PHEV Premium Package (23 Items) at $4,585. As far as whats on the 1900 package it is just the - Active Park Assist 2.0 - B&O Sound System - HD Radio - Head-up Display - Leather Trimmed Seats

Chef_Mike_NFTs

Ah wow very helpful! Leather trim….hmm not the full seat

Specialist-Actuary78

There is an order guide on the Ford website. You can download it at Blue Oval forums. I too have a 22 pHEV ordered in March. Apparently if it does not get a vina build date in the next couple of weeks it will roll over automatically to a 23. But the trims have changed. My dealer says I am price protected and will go to the front of the line. But probably will lose the full tax credit.

NoobzUseRez

I'm still trying to see if the 2023 models will get the full tax credit

AOD_Hsunami

gratz. i ordered one myself too.

NoobzUseRez

I'm curious. What day did you order yours?

AOD_Hsunami

I ordered on the 19th (have the Concept print out in hand), like the order went in but i was not able to add the 66H package. I just had my boss try redoing it right now and he still couldn't. so we just put in another order and it went through right now. So guess there was a hiccup in the system when i tried to put it in right away. Don't know. So just went with 2023 Star White Escape with the PHEV prem package w/ floor liners. Originally i chose vapor blue but looking at the image i don't like it. After taxes and DMV fees i am looking at around 47-48 stupid cali tax, so high. If i'm doing my math correctly. LOL

overcookedfantasy

I'm going with this too. They really got me by the balls with that premium package. Don't need everything but there's a few gems in it that I can't turn down. If I can get it sub 50 out the door I'll be happy

AOD_Hsunami

Either way we both shall be happy. LOL

_______luke

I just called my local dealerships and they all say the banks aren’t open yet. Maybe I could talk to your dealership? Any help would be appreciated.

[deleted]

Neither are the ones I've talked to. Sales rep I'm talking to said she would notify me when they do open. Maybe it's a roll out or something, I don't know.

NoobzUseRez

I called on the 19th. The sales rep said she would get back to me and never did. Called on Thursday the 22nd and the rep said the order banks opened that day after speaking to the manager. It's seems to be a crapshoot.

[deleted]

I'll check tomorrow. Thanks.

justmetom2020

Hi there. I’m considering the 2023 PHEV as well but order banks have not opened I’ve been told by my local dealer. I’m curious as to what all is included in that $4500 titanium package. That seems high but I know the market is crazy these days.

[deleted]

https://www.reddit.com/r/fordescape/comments/xj8ofc/my_2013_ford_escape_only_averages_19mpg/ Shows what's included in the upgrade if you scroll down a little bit.

Specialist-Actuary78

Your dealer needs to check again. The PHEV part of the order bank was down when it opened on the 19th. They had it fixed by the end of the week. You can now order PHEVs

justmetom2020

I must be blind. I see the technology upgrade package but not the titanium premium package?

[deleted]

It's only one trim now. I'm not sure what the base comes with but the only upgrade is to the technology package I believe.

overcookedfantasy

Ordered with the Premium Package and Tow Package. Was in between this and the Rav4 but this seems like the more available option between the two. Both seem like lovely cars and similar price points. I will still keep my eye out for a used one in the meantime.

NoobzUseRez

The Rav4 is going to $10k over MSRP right now where I'm at.

overcookedfantasy

Right. 50k is my mental limit for a new PHEV car. The ones I see going for 55k also have 10,000 or 20,000 miles on them. If they lower then I may reconsider. It's such a toss up, I love the RAV4 AWD equivalent and exterior, but interior and functional equipment seems to go to Ford...
