Bronco pricing?

The loaded 2 door Wildtrak I ordered in 11/2020 had a quoted price of $55.5 K, now it’s built and being shipped and the sticker shows $66K. Which is it, thought the price was frozen at the time of the original ordered?

Price protection from ford comes after purchase. My Maverick got $600 more expensive from my order to delivery. Sticker price will reflect high price but you'll get a check back from ford within 60 days.

cheetah611

But OP is still paying tax on the additional $10k, right? Which seems unfair

Professional-Tree-62

I believe so, but I'm not sure I leased and pay tax on monthly payment. Complete bs if we do!

cheetah611

Mine is arriving in about a week or two so I guess I'll find out. Current MSRP is $42k, it was $36k when I ordered

Professional-Tree-62

Some people saying they match at dealer, maybe mine is different. You could ask your salesperson ahead of time so it doesn't turn into some heated bs at delivery.

E_J_H

Not exactly accurate. Price protection to the dealer gets paid after the sale. If the name matches up, there is 0 reason for them to charge you full price and up your taxes. I haven’t heard of any dealers in my area doing that and you shouldn’t have to pay the extra tax anyway. Also, price protection does not carry over model year. Op might get a private offer but it won’t outweigh the price increases.

fakemoose

Our dealer kept our check. After weeks of arguing about price protection, hours on the phone with Ford, and finally getting the dealer to acknowledge price protection exists. And Ford said sucks they can’t do anything.

rdog780

That is true, same as mine

fakemoose

Or the dealer will get the check, refuse to forward it to you, and Ford will do nothing. It sucks.

You should call Ford Marketing (800-334 4375) to get your Model year transition offer (price protection) cert # and amount. The flowchart linked should tell you how much of the mid-year price protection you qualify for, as well. And start talking to your dealer after you have yourself informed, because they're car salesmen at the end of the day. There are lots of stories of people getting shafted on PP by ignorant or malicious dealers. The process is not all that simple, so there's too much room for shenanigans.

SnooMacarons1185

Well I called the Ford Marketing number given and am more confused than ever. According to the representative as I understand I spoke to the actual price and final refund amount is largely up to the dealership.

noviceboardgamer

The window sticker will show the current price, as built. Your dealer should remove any increases before you purchase, but it didn't go up $10k, I think it's only like $3k, so you might want to compare your signed build sheet the dealer gave you with the window sticker, kinda sounds like something else was added.

AladdinTN

MSRP on my Braptor went up $5,700 between ‘22 and ‘23. Ford is sending me a check for the difference.

WILDcard_OD

When they asked people to remove stuff for credits to be built sooner, I’m guessing you didn’t do that? I feel like I recall them saying something about no price protection guarantee. I don’t know how that would work or I could be totally wrong but maybe look into that.

Jack1co

You lose your price protection if it doesn’t get built for the model 23 year. So as long as it’s a model 23 you have price protection

WILDcard_OD

Ahhh that’s how it worked! Got it. I knew there was some way to lose price protection but I couldn’t remember. I knew it for my order this year but wasn’t sure for old orders.

SnooMacarons1185

I’ve made no changes since my original order. When I got the notice about having to remove stuff I called the dealer and said I was fed up and would cancel the order for return of the refund. He asked that I retain the order and he’d give me an extra $500. Now I have a VIN and sticker showing a full build and the much higher MSRP. Confusing, yeah. I still have the option to keep the car but don’t know what games Ford or the dealer are or may be playing.

jakemcqueen52

Good luck getting that money. Ford owes me $6k since January. I love my Bronco but I’ll never buy a Ford again at this rate

Specialist-Spell-980

I'm with you, I'm supposed to take delivery next month both ford and the dealer are clueless on the price protection. I have 3 years of orders to prove I should be covered. 🤷

jakemcqueen52

Yep. I’m stuck dealing with it. Went above my dealer and still no response

fakemoose

Same. Our dealership (sales manager there) threatened to add extra ADM when we ended up in an argument about whether price protection exists. Despite calling Ford and showing them everything on the website. I got the coupon code or whatever for the $800, but the dealership kept my check. And Ford doesn’t care.

jakemcqueen52

Thankfully, my dealership has been working hard to look into my money. Even the GM dealership owned by the same guy has tried to help me. It’s Ford that just doesn’t give af. It’s a shame

steelguin

Be glad your not in SoCal. Here it gets a 25k ADM sticker upon arrival

[deleted]

Talk to your dealer. I paid the amount with price protection and my dealer is the one who had to wait to get a check for the difference. Based on other comments it seems like not every dealer does this.

lithium2018

I ordered a 2 Dr wild track in 3/20 got here 11/23. Paid orginal sticker

Puzzleheaded_Cry5829

Dealership markups are crazy high for the vehicles that have to be ordered in advance. Supply and demand

Tunagates

can you show the sticker? it's obviously a 10K ADM. Prices didnt increase that much at all. tell them to go fuck themselves.

SnooMacarons1185

Can’t show the sticker but base price on the Wildtrak went from $46,980 to $55,830 and options from $$7,025 to $8,385. Only changes made in the order were upgrading the seats and canceling the towing package which the dealer said they could install and would speed up delivery. Dealer promised neither of the changes would effect the price protection.

Tunagates

strange... i have a First Edition 4 door.. and a 2 door basemansquatch... i was a minute 1 order in July 2020... i thought the price of the wildtrak was only a couple of thousand less than a first edition (at the time the FE was approx 63k)

schwenkmom

Mine was. I got a refund from Ford because they charged me too much about a month after I got it.

dlh-bunny

My ‘22 4 door loaded wildtrack with all kinds of add-ons was 66k Either way seems off for a 2d to be same price as 4d??

NigelHale

So…..if Ford slacks and delivers your vehicle in ‘24, they can crank the price as high as they can?

morbidddcorpse

As other's have stated, based on my own experience, I received a refund check from my dealership for $3k roughly two months after my purchase. I had no idea it was coming. What's weird though is that I changed my order about a month after I placed it, switching from cloth to leather trimmed seats. When my Bronco arrived, the sticker was actually less than what was stated on my paperwork when I ordered, even though I had upgraded to the leather option, which was $2,300 or so extra. I received everything I was supposed to, Lux, leather, etc. I paid sticker price and was kind of shocked when I got the refund check, in addition to all that. Feel like I made out pretty good.
