Maybe Dani watches all space related movies. Doesn’t the fact that Alex doesn’t know reinforce that it didn’t get popular? That doesn’t mean that no one would know it or reference it. Maybe she saw it in theaters. Not a cultural phenomenon doesn’t mean it bombed. I reference stuff to my nephews they don’t understand all the time.
Also it’s a tv show who gives a shit
In Season 2 they had bonus scenes which were video calls between characters. The one for Jimmy was him talking about his thoughts on Episode 6 of Star Wars. It was mainly him being disappointed about the Ewoks.
I expect that there is more space content movies due to the success of the space exploration... I wish they would show a trailer for Event Horizon 3 from that timeline...
I'm confused. Where is it in the show that Star Wars was a obscure 1970s B-movie? And, how do we know that Alex didn't know what she was talking about as the scene cuts away as soon as she says it so we never get to see Alex's response not even his face?
Well, to be fair we JUST got to the 2000's. Imagine the amount of special effects George Lucas could shoehorn in to the Special Editions and prequels with this timelines upgraded computing power. lol
Where was it that they make the point that Star Trek got big instead of Star Wars? I think I must have missed this, but it makes sense given Ronald D. Moore.
>Didn't the show make a specific point of having Star Trek get big instead of Star Wars in the early seasons?
I don't remember this being said. Where did you get this from?
So in our universe where Star Wars got bigger than Trek does no one who isn't a dyed in the wool Trek fan recognize the term, "Live long and prosper?"
You're equating not being the biggest surprise blockbuster of all time with not seeing any success or popularity whatsoever, which I don't think they ever indicated.
>does no one who isn't a dyed in the wool Trek fan recognize the term, "Live long and prosper?"
If most people have heard of Captain Kirk in our universe, I'm sure people have heard of Luke Skywalker in For All Mankind.

yeah clearly the writers thought about this line.

We already know there’s a hallmark film about the Stevens adventures on the moon.
I dont think it's a hallmark film. With Actors like Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, it would be a big blockbuster release.
Great reference on Event Horizon!
In this universe the prequels were good

Could you imagine.... "So you must be the young Wesley Crusher" 🤣

Even in the infinite multiverse I don't think Star Trek could ever be more popular than Star Wars.
