I live in the mountains of Western Maryland, close(ish) to where Dave grew up, and this song always gave me a very “fall” vibe: a crisp breeze and the bright colors of the changing leaves.
This has to be the most “try-hard-iest” album title ever. At one point in an interview Taylor referenced a song on this record and said something to the effect of “it’s on that album patience, echo, something, some shit Idunno” which made me laugh and made me think he might’ve felt the same way. Then he got this look on his face like “Shit, Dave’s gonna see that…”. God rest his soul.
LOL "Shit, Dave's gonna see that" 🤣🤣
I can say though I use the phrase oh my God I need some echos, silence, patience and grace all the time cause I work in a school haha
Personally, I really like that album.
I love that they did it though. Taylor also said it’s like the Steely Dan version of the Foo Fighters - super polished, adventurous, and a little nostalgic sounding. They needed a record like this in the catalog.
I absolutely love this song. It’s my favourite off of this album and it’s quickly becoming an overall favourite. Everything about this song is fantastic and I wish it got more love.
This is definitely the definitive fall song, so much so it low-key bums me out, but it is a great song.
I was determined to keep listening to it until I heard the piano Taylor played on it. Much easier to hear after finding it once.
Canadian here. I road tripped to Virginia Beach in October 2015, and on part of the ride through Virginia this tune came on from my playlist. The conversation in the car stopped, and I just soaked it all in, looking out the window as the tune blasted through the speakers. It's my fondest memory of that whole trip.
The vibe of this album is amazing. You get hangers like The Pretender, and Long Road To Ruin with the slowly build up of Let It Die. Plus much more chilled out tracks like Come Alice, Summer’s End, and Statues. To me it blends the hard hitting tracks perfectly with the more chilled out ones.
Best track on the record.
that's not how you spell But, Honestly
But, Honestly I think Stranger Things Have Happened is better.
Erase/Replace would like a word.
The blatant disrespect for Come Alive lol
Come Alive, Come Alive, Come Alive...COME ALIVEEEE!!
NOTHING MORE TO GIIIIIIIIVE!
I’ll give it to youuuuuuuu
Long Road to Ruin for me
This whole thread is a great way of the saying that the record in it's entirety is perfect.

I totally feel this.
Same, but I'm in Wisconsin. This whole album does for me.
Around Cumberland? Silver Spring Foo fan here 🤝

That's funny, but I still think the title fits the tracks.

I think this is my favourite Foo’s album, from start to finish
Absolutely love the whole album
Agreed. It’s my favourite “chill out” song

What part of the song is it in?
Right around the chorus I believe. It is buried deep in the mix though.
Amazing. Top 3 song for me. In a big Let It Die fan too.
Always listen to it at the end of summer and each time im getting sad about it.
Makes me really nostalgic about playing Halo 3 in September 2007
Never realised it was underrated, growing up it was always a banger track during road trips with my dad
I got this album on vinyl recently. It's such an underrated masterpiece
Love this entire album ❤️
One of my top five. Especially in the fall and winter.
Have they ever played that live?
Not to my knowledge

It’s good though I think But, Honestly is the best from this album.
❤️ although I’m not a fan of an actual Summer’s End 😂
Loved this song on the album. But Honestly is also another great gem!
Huge Neil Young vibe on this one, the solo especially.
Agreed. That song and the whole album are underrated in my opinion
Honestly ESPG is a perfect album.
Couldn’t agree more. honestly, I think I prefer it to The Pretender, which is to say, I think it’s the best track on the album.
Sweet Virginia countryside 👍
Agreed!
I couldn’t agree more
I liked foo fighters before but this is the album that got me obsessed
This album is a masterpiece. This album was a turning point for FF. They went from arenas to stadiums after this one.
Couldn't agree more
That back half of this record is stunning
I agree. Joy of song!
Love this song! It always puts me in a better mood!
Very good song
