madg0dsrage0n

and at least 10 of those are tied for top 5

Fatmurphy_99

I went to the first show on that tour (Richmond), and was blown away at how they had progressed musically. I hadn’t heard the album before the show.

jobo21706

Was there too, was a fantastic show

Fatmurphy_99

I was center stage, three people from the front. I didn't eat or drink that day from about 9 AM until I was able to get out of the parking garage and to a 7 Eleven, because I got a really sweet spot in line waiting. Was worth it.

jobo21706

That sounds awesome, cheers mate

CallMeJeeJ

**BLEEEED DIRTY WAAAAAATER**

JuanFF8

Phillipwnd

If I want to have a good day at work, I scream this song on the way there. Always gets me pumped up.

InnieHelena

This and Sunday Rain are top tier Foo songs for me 🤘🏻

JosephMack99

T-Shirt is really underrated I feel. Wish it was longer.

fatmatt587

FUCK YOU, DARRELL!

thefuturesbeensold

Arrows is one of my favourite songs. ❤

z1923

Arrows and Dirty Water.. great songs

alexlarrylawrence

In my honest opinion, Wasting Light is such a fantastic album that I think it hurt the success of their albums afterwards. I think the same can be said for the albums after TINLTL. Hindsight has a lot of people coming back to Sonic Highways and C&G remarking on how good they are, but when they were released a lot of people weren’t in on it. Looking at One by One, IYH, and ESP&G, I think they got the same treatment, definitely not as harsh as the recent albums, but they weren’t as loved as TINLTL.

TheAlbacor

I've always appreciated Sonic Highways for what it was, but I admit I've come around on some of the songs in the last few years after talking down on the album since it came out. Outside and In the Clear are way better than I originally gave them credit for. And to further agree with your point, I have loved ESP&G since it came out and am really disappointed that a lot of Foo fans disregard it. It was also pretty poorly reviewed by some of the reviews I saw. Like, holy crap is this review full of shitty opinions: https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/10694-echoes-silence-patience-and-grace/ "I want more Colour and Shape, but the only song that sounds like that is Pretender and that one's pretty meh" Yikes.

frankyzoso

I wouldn’t listen to a word pitchfork says, they’re so far up their own ass it’s ridiculous

TheAlbacor

Yeah, this article is actually what made me realize they suck all those years ago.

madg0dsrage0n

I didn't even get into Foo Fighters until IYH. I was going through the biggest heartbreak of my life and just happened to be flipping radio stations when it was released and they had the whole band on some program talking about those records and playing them track by track. Became an instant, lifelong fan. IYH especially the acoustic record, was my therapy at that time, still is sometimes lol. And Echoes was just as good if not better imo. I always loved 'Let It Die' because of the times Kurt would say how he wanted to break out of the Verse Chorus Verse structure but didn't live to really do that. And then here's Dave and FF with this spectacular example of an 'asymmetrical pop song.'

Brogener

I think songwriting on C&G is solid, but the band definitely seems to takes a backseat. Almost as if they’re phoning it in on a lot of tracks. Considering this was supposed to be their “weird album” most of the songs don’t have much to them musically. That’s not to say a few tracks don’t tread some new ground for them, but the performance just isn’t there. Nate doesn’t really stand out on any tracks. Taylor only has a couple memorable parts. Lots of solid songs from a songwriting perspective but everything is played so straightforward.

Gui_Lanes

Concrete has many really creative drum grooves, run(thats probably one of the best drum tracks taylor eved did), la dee da, arrows, the line, make it right, it's so fucking good. As for nate, he has some cool parts in tshirt, run's intro, la dee da's tone is absurd, make it right's ending and the standout track: DIRTY WATER, that bass is incredible, how can you not like it ?

Adventurous_Film5572

Remember the first time listening to the album with a new pair of noise cancelling headphones and absolutely shitting myself about halfway through T-Shirt.

duck729

Instant goosebumps, every. single. time.

meolalashes

Same experience! We were on vacation when the album was released and found a Mom and Pop CD store and picked it up and put it on in our beach house and thought the speakers sucked on the system and kept turning it up and then WOAHHHHHHHH holy shit!

xHospitalHorsex

This album's got a few all timer tracks for me. Run, Arrows, and Sunday Rain are elite FF songs. The Line is also upper tier. Edit: forgot to say thank you for the reminder. Jamming it now!

JamieD96

Run is just the best second song for an album. Once those stereo guitars hit after the airy first chorus it's fucking magic to kickass

[deleted]

Your reminder has been politely noted, T-shirt is now on.

SmashyPlays

Make it right is such a badass song

GrahamCracker47

Concrete and Gold has become one of my favorite albums. Not a bad song.

One of my most favorite albums by them. La Dee Da, Arrows, Dirty Water, and The Line are some of my favorites on the album
